WOYWW 480

It's Wednesday and that means a visit to Julia's lovely blog and lots of other lovely crafting spaces to explore and enjoy. If you don't know what I'm talking about, the head over to WOYWW 480 at Julia's lovely blog and find out ... and I hope you'll join in the fun.

On the left side of my desk there's a pile of boxes, some finished cards that have been made and blogged since last week,a couple of stamps used and now ought to be cleaned, papers etc:

On the right side of where I sit are some papers and things that were taken out of my 'things in waiting' box, but not used yet, topped with some bits and pieces that I bought yesterday ... I need elephants for a card I must make today. On the freezer you can see a pile of Christmas cards that needs to be added to very soon as I'll be selling at the Macmillan coffee morning at the end of September ... and the days go so quickly.

And a few more goodies can be seen on top of my printer:

Hope to see you at WOYWW 480.

Have a wonderful birthday

This is for the sketch given for Just add ink 421:

Papers are from offcuts, including the little piece of Bo Bunny packaging as shown on the previous card, stamped with a little Hero Arts sentiment. The sentiment panel in the middle is from a Kanban pack, silver embossed, not black as it looks in the photo.

The main image was stamped with Penny Black burst of stars, without the stem and leaves, inked with memento Paris dusk and die cut with a Spellbinders nestie, inked on the spikes of the inverted scallops.

To celebrate a special date

This card is for the sketch on Freshly made sketches 349:

First of all I stamped on to the light grey card blank with the Debbi Moore stamp inked with stazon jet black, then adding pieces of the patterned paper top and bottom, with silver Anita 3D borders added.

I wish I could remember what paper this is (I have a whole pad of different designs, but had taken off the cover and can't remember what it is - if  anyone recognises it, I'd be grateful to know.)

Sweet wishes

This card is for the sketch for Atlantic 276 (I've tweaked it a bit, but hope that it's still OK for the sketch):

I created an A5 card with a piece of pink Hunkydory adorable scorable and then used elements from a sweet treats Hunkydory kit, raising the middle oval with foam tape, also the edge of the sentiment oval.

Took the strange angle photo to avoid glare ... all the bits that look black are actually silver.

WOYWW 479

It's Wednesday and that means a visit to Julia's lovely blog and lots of other lovely crafting spaces to explore and enjoy. If you don't know what I'm talking about, the head over to WOYWW 479 at Julia's lovely blog and find out ... and I hope you'll join in the fun.

This is how the left side of my desk looks this morning - mainly cards that have been made in the last few days:t

This is the right side of my desk, with papers that have been used in the last couple of days, some stickeroos (because I used one for the top card on the left):

Those who've followed me for a while will know that I like to be organised with everything put away in the correctly labelled box. Well .... I'm now going to tell you a little secret. Every so often, things pile up on my desk and I just don't have time (or inclination) to actually put them in the right place ... and, besides, there's things that I still need in the next couple of days, so it would be silly putting them away.

As well as my trolleys of Really Useful boxes and other storage, I have two very special boxes - they sit on top of one of my units ... and you will see that the top one is smaller and has snowflakes on it.

The top one is for Christmas bits and pieces ... things that have been lurking on my desk, but haven't yet been put in their right places ... this is what it looks like atm:

The larger box is for anything else that has been taking up residence on my desk ... and it might well be needed in a day or two, so it's a bit silly to put it all away in right places ... or I just haven't had time to do so. This is the inside of that box:

If you need a bit more desk space without putting everything away, I would fully recommend getting some boxes like mine ... large enough to take 12 x 12 paper if necessary.

So now you know why my desk is reasonably tidy, most of the time.

Of course, during the course of a day, things get tipped out of the boxes back on to my desk ... and when I've used some of it, the rest either gets put away properly ... or back in the box for another day.

Hope to see you at WOYWW 479.

This card is based on the sketch given for CAS(E) this sketch 283:

I used papers from my offcuts box with a Penny Black stickeroo picture and decorative pieces either side. The sentiment label was from Craftwork Cards.

For this card I adapted a couple of sketches that I've shown very recently - I love this kind where four squares can be used in a variety of ways, so this is another for for Little red wagon 457: sketchy time, where we are asked to show a favourite sketch.

The background is an offcut of turquoise mirror card. The piece of paper with the four squares was taken from a 12 x 12 Junkitz 'summer' (I daresay that I'll make at least another couple of cards with some more of the paper while it's out of the box). A variety of 3D stickers were added and the little sentiment oval in the middle.

Anchors away

This card is based on the sketch given for MFT 396:

I used another piece of the Best Creation Inc Ocean Breeze 'sailor', which is double sided, so I used some of both sides, a piece of grosgrain anchors ribbon and another photo from the set bought long ago from Kanban. On this card you can see how textured the card is on the anchors side.

Wishing you a happy birthday

For this card I've used the sketch given for Inspire.Create 023:

This is very similar to the one given for the previous card, so I'm also entering this for Little red wagon 457: sketchy time, where we are asked to show a favourite sketch.

The background paper is Best Creation Inc Ocean Breeze 'sailor' and the photos were from a set bought long ago from Kanban.

Enjoy your summer birthday

This card is based on the sketch for Freshly made sketches 348:

I love this kind of sketch which is so versatile - very similar to a card I made much earlier that you can see here where I used one large stamped image cut into four squares. So I'm also entering this for Little red wagon 457: sketchy time, where we are asked to show a favourite sketch.

The papers are from my offcuts box and the four squares were originally inches made for swaps (years ago, when a group used to exchange, but keep back one for ourselves).

Top left square contains a sun charm that was made golden with alcohol ink. Top right square shows a Delicious Doodles digital image coloured with alcohol pens. Bottom left square shows a Magenta inchie stamp coloured with alcohol pens with some faux stitching. Bottom right is an unknown butterfly picture. All of these were mounted on to offcuts of mirror card. The 'Enjoy your summer birthday' was generated with my Dymo letratag with clear tape.
