Blog candy

This post will stay at the top until 23:55 UK time 31 July
Please scroll down below this post for recent crafting

I started this blog on 1 March 2007, so it's been going now for over eleven years. Since the beginning of the blog I've made over 6,700 posts.

During this time I have made many crafting friends in blogland and am so grateful for everyone who visits and for the many comments that are so appreciated.

I used to occasionally offer some blog candy as a thank you to my visitors, but haven't done so for a long while so thought it's about time I did so.

So I'm offering this candy as a celebration of a successful blog and thanks to all those who have visited over the years and have been such an encouragement with your comments.

This is what the randomly chosen winner will receive:

To be in with a chance to win, all you need to do is create a brief blogpost telling others about my candy - with a link to my post - or put a link in your sidebar if you prefer - and add your blogpost link to linky at the bottom of this post. Please only enter once.

The draw is open to anyone and everyone, whether you're a frequent visitor or here for the first time - and I'm willing to post worldwide, so distance is no problem.

If you're not already a follower of my blog I would love it if you became one.

I will keep this post on top until 23:55 UK time Tuesday 31 July 2018 and will do the draw the next day, using random.org. Don't forget, you've got to be in it to win it, so get linking now - lol!

WOYWW 476

I have blog candy here - why not take a look, tell others and link to try and win it.

It's Wednesday and that means a visit to Julia's lovely blog and lots of other lovely crafting spaces to explore and enjoy. If you don't know what I'm talking about, the head over to WOYWW 476 at Julia's lovely blog and find out ... and I hope you'll join in the fun.

First of all, a bit apology that I didn't get to visit many desks ... tried my best, but ran out of time, mainly because of all the hospital appointments for John.

It's been another week with very little crafting except the Christmas card which is now getting buried by other things. This was shown for my CHNC Challenge 394 - if you make anything for Christmas I'd love to see it linked there (I also run a Patterned Paper challenge - you'll find details on the link - please join in if you can).

You'll see that the Kanban kits are still there ... but nothing used this week. And the Christening stuff is still there to remind me that I need to make a commissioned card ... but there's no hurry because the date for the Christening still needs to be fixed. Hoping that I'll be able to get on a bit better this week ... but it's Wednesday already and no activity yet. We are up at Guy's again tomorrow, but that's the only hospital appointment for John this week. I daren't think about next week - lol!

Today you can see our freezer tucked up the corner ... it's handy as an extended work space - lol!

I hope to visit everybody's blogs linked for WOYWW 476 and I hope you will be able to join in too and have a look at what others are showing.

Don't forget my blog candy ... I would love one of my WOYWW friends to win it.

another trial

I'm posting this to see if it will be put on my fb wall. This used to happen automatically, but it was discontinued, so I'm trying another way.

CHNC challenge 394

I have blog candy here - why not take a look, tell others and link to try and win it.

This is my card for my CHNC challenge 394 -  please click on the link to find out what it's all about and I hope you'll be able to join in with your Christmas designs - anything goes as long as it's Christmas with the optional theme of 'use a die cut or punch'.

I have to confess that, having got ahead for a few weeks with my designs for my CHNC challenges, I hadn't actually made anything for this challenge. It's been a very busy week with very little time to craft or blog, with John having four hospital appointments in 8 days, each one taking up a lot of time waiting for transport.

So, not having much time to put this card together, I resorted to a ready made die cut, the rather majestic looking red and turquoise reindeer from an old Kanban kit, with a background of red mirror with holographic stars, wrapped with a couple of pieces of grosgrain ribbon, with the addition of the circular greeting and some snowflakes from The Works.

This is the best photo I could get (if I can do better in the morning, then I'll add another).

WOYWW 475

I have blog candy here - why not take a look, tell others and link to try and win it.

It's Wednesday and that means a visit to Julia's lovely blog and lots of other lovely crafting spaces to explore and enjoy. If you don't know what I'm talking about, the head over to WOYWW 475 at Julia's lovely blog and find out ... and I hope you'll join in the fun.

On the left hand side,  just three cards that are still being worked on (partly covered because they will eventually be blogged) - I started these cards on Monday morning when we were waiting for transport for a hospital appointment for John and haven't added to them since. aThere are also some bits to remind me that I must make a commissioned Christening card. And, of course, the all-important cup of tea.

On the right hand side you can see piles of Kanban kits that have been bought over a period of time and boxed up till now. I thought it was about time I got some out and made some quick cards - my boxes at church could do with a bit of replenishing.

I need to try and get as much done as possible today because John has an appointment at the local hospital tomorrow afternoon and we're back up to Guy's on Friday morning ... so lots of time hanging around.

I hope to visit everybody's blogs linked for WOYWW 475 and I hope you will be able to join in too and have a look at what others are showing.

Don't forget my blog candy ... I would love one of my WOYWW friends to win it.

WOYWW 474

It's Wednesday and that means a visit to Julia's lovely blog and lots of other lovely crafting spaces to explore and enjoy. If you don't know what I'm talking about, the head over to WOYWW 474 at Julia's lovely blog and find out ... and I hope you'll join in the fun.

All I've really got on my desk today (apart from the computer that is permanently there centre-stage - lol) are goodies.

On the left hand side is a pile of goodies that are included in my blog candy - please click here and join in ... you've got to be in it to win it! Above these, there are the goodies that are included as the prize for this month's Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper ... and you can just about see part of a card that I made for that challenge - you can see all the details here - please join in if you make anything this month using some patterned paper - I'd love to see you there.

On the right hand side you can see some of the goodies I bought yesterday (quite a few are unseen underneath). Those little circle stamps are still lurking, waiting to be used again, as are two card blanks that didn't begin to work out as expected, so I'll use those to cover with patterned paper and nobody will know what's underneath (well, unless they are reading this post - lol!):

I hope to visit everybody's blogs linked for WOYWW 474 and I hope you will be able to join in too and have a look at what others are showing.

We three kings ...

Another CAS Christmas card made with an offcut piece of chocolate brown mirror card run through the todo with the Star of wonder embossing folder by Die'sire. The topper was rescued from an old card - too good to put in the recycling bin. There is just a hint of brown with glitter here and there that tones with the piece of embossing, on to a white card blank.

Home for Christmas

This quick and easy card has no patterned paper, but an offcut strip of purple mirror card embossed with the lovely Star of wonder embossing folder by Die'sire. It's hard to get a photo showing it without getting glare. The card blank is a pale lilac.

The centre piece is from a Kanban kit purchased long ago. The photo doesn't show it, but the inside of the frame has an acetate dome to give depth.  And the houses inside the frame are glittered, but, once again, it doesn't show. Greeting is a silver peel off.
