Blog Candy Celebration

Celebrate with me

As this will stay on top until the end of 1 March, please scroll down to see normal posts (but don't forget to leave a comment here first)

All this could be yours if you leave me a comment and put a link on your blog so that people can come and look.

In a few days (from writing this on 12 February) I will have received 30,000 visits to my blog since I installed a counter at the end of April 2007.

This is a double celebration, because on 1 March I will have been blogging for two years.

This is my opportunity to thank all those who visit, whether once or twice or regularly, for your kind comments. I have made so many lovely blogging friends.

As you can see my blog candy consists of some sheets of Brenda Pinnick stickers, including alphabets, a K & Co Kim Hodges 6 x 6 patchwork paper pad, a pack of mermaid tears, two packs of crystal stickers elements, a pack of Craft House ribbons and two Anna Griffin brass stencils.

So, if you would like to win, please leave me a comment (please make sure that you leave me a blog link so that I can contact you if you win, or, if you don't have a blog, leave an email address)and put a link on your blog so that people can come and visit.

This post will stay on top until the anniversary of starting my blog - 1 March (until midnight GMT), after which I will use random.org to determine the winner.

Black and white Forever Friends Birthday card

Last week's theme on Forever Friends was 'general Birthday', but I missed doing a card for that. This week's topic is 'black and white', so I've combined the two in a very simple card. The black surround of the image and the sentiment are matted on to silver, which, unfortunately, doesn't show up on the scan:

Animal magic

This card is based on the sketch on challenge 4 on Sketch and Stash (well, I've used a bit of 'poetic licence'). Everything I've used on this card is new stash:
Cute Card Thursday (49: animal magic) and Charisma Cardz both have the theme of animals this week, so I've used BG marrakech rub ons and papers, which includes the one with elephants on.

Sorry that the scan is a bit crooked (why does this happen?)

A Krafty card

There are two current challenges that feature using Kraft paper (I used Paperworks recycled wove Kraft from Paperchase - lovely to stamp on and print).

The first of these challenges is on Caardvarks: 'Kraft macaroni and cheese' and the second is Lisa's February challenge 5: 'a krafty one' on JB.

It's a very simple card, randomly stamping the little PM stamp with black ink and then printing and mounting the sentiment (the surrounds of the picture and sentiment are silver).

As I haven't used any patterned paper for this card, I think it qualifies for this challenge 18 on One Stop Craft 'simply stunning (no paper)', although it's nowhere near stunning.

Wednesday Stamper's theme this week is 'silhouettes', so I'm linking for that and also for this week's Rainbow Lady challenge 49: people.

Secret Crafter challenge 21 is 'transport', so this fits that too.

Please don't forget my blog candy - today is the last chance to leave a comment - it's still open until midnight.

Which reminds me, of course, that it was two years ago that I started blogging - today is my blogversary (and despite the candy reminder, I had almost forgotten this!)

Wild card

This is this Laura's sketch 20 on 2 Sketches 4 You this week:

I used my Cricut wild card cartridge to create this pocket card, which is just right also for this week's challenge 24 on BG 'pockets' (two BG challenges in one afternoon!). I used Urban Couture Gabardine for the main pocket and Urban Couture Poplin for the inside card, with flowers and circles made out of these two papers.

The pocket is about the same size as an A6 card, so it can be put into a C6 envie.

The flowers on the inside card were created with the Cricut cartridge 'walk in my garden'. This month's theme on Joanna Sheen's challenge forum involves using paper flowers, so I'm linking for that.

Pocket closed (using a length of ribbon threaded through the centre hole and tied:

Pocket open (with card inside):

The Happy Birthday sentiment is one from Craftwork Cards.

Blue and brown

I've based this card on Dawny's sketch 9 on the Papertake challenge blog:

I always love taking part in the challenges on the BG blog (I don't think I've ever missed one), but I was late with last week's, so here it is now. Challenge 23 was a colour combo one and I chose blue and brown from the options given.

The BG papers are Granola, with a brown mat around the blue, taken from Infuse.

Blue and brown is also the colour combo on today's Colour Create challenge 5 (there is also an option to use pearls and/or lace, which I haven't done, but hope to be back later in the week with one that does incorporate this).

Challenge 74 this week on Arty Girlz is 'butterflies', so I've used one of my favourite stamps for the image, using versamark embossed with gold detail - shows up much better irl than on here.
