Craft your days away

The girls from the Magical Crafts blog have set up a new Challenge blog after the closure of the other one. It's called Craft Your Days Away. Their first challenge will start on 7 August at 9:00 and to celebrate all this they have three amazing prizes to give away. All you have to do to qualify for the blog candy draw is to post on your blog and link your name by 16:00 UK time on 6 August.

So, to be in with a chance visit Craft Your Days Away now and help spread the word of the new challenge blog.

I'm also putting a notice in my side bar so that it can be seen up until the draw for the blog candy.

Blossoms and butterflies

This card uses the sketch for A Crafty little place 48; 'classic vintage':

I'm linking this for Fiskarettes Monday challenge: 'blossoms and butterflies'. I used a Fiskars finger tip knife to cut out the bits of the butterflies (they are Sizzix die cuts - one of the little green dies that I've had for ages). I cut the corners of the card using Fiskars corner edgers 'nostalgia' - I wouldn't sure if they would successfully cut through the card, which, of course, was doubled, but they did. (They corner grey areas are just the screen of the scanner).

I stamped with a Dawn Bibby design stamp, coloured the leaves with copic and stuck flowers over where the stamped flowers are, adding gems, also to the butterflies and the corners.

Papers are BG bittersweet and I tore the edges of the ovals round perspex templates.

I love burgundy

I do love burgundy - it was the colour I chose for my bridesmaids. So I was pleased to make a card for Rosie-D 75, using burgundy, pink & cream (well, tbh, I'm not sure that I've used cream - it's probably more like white).

I used the sketch for Techno's Monday lunchtime sketch 131:

Papers are BG bittersweet and the image is a download from Dezinaworld, called 'pink lady'. I've torn the striped paper strips to give the card a distressed, vintage look.

The summer feeling

This week's challenge on Dottie's world asks for a card shoing 'the summer feeling' and Louise said: 'I would like you to use a CHARMED DOWNLOAD to make a summery card - or something else if you prefer! OK so that doesn't sound very challenging.......I would like you to make your summer item DIFFERENT to what you would normally make. Maybe you always make tent fold cards so try a side fold card or something completely different! Maybe you always make big cards so make a teenie weenie one, do you get my drift?'

So I decided to make a fold back card (haven't done one of these for ages and ages, so it's certainly something different for me).

I used the 'gift for mummy' download from the Sugar and Spice set; the blue papers are BG phoebe and the purple and pink is BG wisteria. The tan card is from my scraps box.

This can looks a bit wonky, but it isn't irl.

I used the colours for Picture Perfect 22:

Cowgirl's challenge at last

Having made a card earlier (here) using the colours on Cowgirl's current challenge, I realised (too late) that I'd ignored the fact that there was a sketch to follow. So this card really is for this challenge, using the colours and the sketch:

This time I've used BG euphoria papers and a digi picture from Charmed cards and crafts, 'butterfly kisses' from the Sugar & spice range.

This is for CPS 176:

Two or three years ago I bought a Disney kit - lots of bright papers and Mickey Mouse stamps etc. Well, I still had quite a few papers left, including little scraps, so I've looked them out for this card and used a digi Donald Duck.

Triangles again

I had two triangles over from the paper used for the previous card - then I discovered this sketch for Crafty Hos, which is just right for using these up:

So, the papers are again BG phoebe.

Crazy 4 challenges 47: inspiration photo:

Don't think I'm awake yet!

I chose the papers for this card with this week's Cowgirl's Sunday challenge and then got carried away with the idea of making a pocket card, totally forgetting that the Cowgirl's challenge also included its own sketch - d'oh!!

I thought I'd have a break from making Christmas cards.

The striped paper is from my scraps box (haven't got a clue where it came from), the other papers are BG phoebe. The tag is plain on the back to write on.

I really must still be sleepy because it took me ages to remember how to figure out putting a strut on the back so the card will stand up.
