This card is for Sketchy colors 61:

It's also for Soartful: three young ladies - I changed the picture to black and white.

The card is also for the recipe on Stamp it crazy: vintage lady challenge - to use the colours black, brown and white and a red ribbon.

The main paper is Bo Bunny flutter butter burst and the other papers are My mind's eye, distressed with fired brick and brushed corduroy DIs.

This is also for:

Simply just for you

Today on 365 cards for day 12 the challenge is to keep it simple - Cover the front of the card with patterned paper, add a sentiment and one embellishment and that's it.

The paper is WeR memory keepers vintage blue bluebird (one quarter of a 12 x 12 paper with 4 different patterns).

One layer - off the edge

This is for Less is more 6: one layer - off the edge.

I used my Stamps Happen keys to music stamp - this stamp is over 6 inches wide, so it's quite easy to use to stamp off the edge.

The sentiment is an Anna Griffin one stamped with blazing red stazon.

So much green

There's so much green about atm - in challenges, I mean. With St Patrick's Day coming up, lots of crafting challenge blogs are asking for someting to do with St P's Day or green in general.

I've based the card on Mandy's sketch on Sunday sketch & stamp 38:

and have incorporated lace and pearls for Sentimental Sundays 45, Totally Gorjuss 71, Creative stamp friends 20 (lace) and Digi doodle 50 (pearls). The lace is also for 365 day 10: trendy - there seems to be quite a trend atm to use lace in cardmaking - and vintage in general.

The background paper is from Funky Hand CD Dreams come true 'seaweed smiler'. The darker green paper is recycled from the inside of an envelope (another form of green!) and the image is Mami Doodles Paddy's frame (a freebie this week) and is for their challenge 21: make it monochromatic green and add a bit of Irish (optional).

So, these are the other 'green' challenges:

Blue Christmas

This is for CPS 208:

and for 'It's a cool yule' on Jingle Belles:

I've used three patterned papers and three brads, so it's my first card for the March challenge on Christmas cards all year round. I think it also is OK for Irish teddies: recipe - 3 brads, tape and no flowers - I'm not sure about the 'tape' (google translation doesn't seem clear on this) - but I've interpreted it as 'ribbon' - hope that's OK.

Day 11 on 365 cards yesterday was 'repurposed' - find some paper in your stash that was intended for one holiday/season and give it a new life.

The main background paper is from the 'art deco ladies' Nancy Watt range, but I thought it combined well with the other papers - Nancy Watt decorative Christmas trees and a piece of English Paper Company paper behind the PM 3D stickers. The 'buttons' are brads. The 'art deco ladies' papers has stars on it, so I'm also linking for Die cut dreams Christmas 57: starlight, starbright.

This is also for:

Freshly brewed 38: 3 or more patterned papers
Iris' spot 14: buttons
Crafty creations 109: baby blue
CCEE 1110: monochromatic cards with the blues
Simply create 39: monochromatic
The crafty pad 111: use a ribbon
Paper pretties 144: ribbon
Creative card crew: no flowers
Wild orchid 18: anything goes
Papertake weekly: anything goes + option of something old - the papers
Aly's: anything goes
Card cupids: anything goes
Craft your passion 48: anything goes
Simon says: anything goes

And now I need to get back to making Easter cards and eventually other cards to fill the gaps ready for my Tearfund sales.

Simply for a new home

This is a CAS card made recently for a friend. I chose the English Paper Company paper by Vanessa Arbuthnott because she lives in a fairly rural setting. I simply stamped on to the paper with my favourite new home stamp from Blade Rubber, using blazing red stazon which matched perfectly with the paper - although it's called blazing red it always seems to have more of a deep pink look.

This is for:

One stop craft 122: clean and simple
Dream Valley 2: new beginnings
Cupcake 132: pink polka dots
Paper sundaes 59: stripes
Alphabet: S for stripes
Wild orchid 18: anything goes
Papertake weekly: anything goes + option of something old - the paper and the stamp

CHNC challenge 11: go for gold

It's Saturday and that means there's a new challenge on my Christmas challenge blog - CHNC challenge 11 is 'go for gold' - - use gold in some way on your card - it can be a lot or a little - foiling, heat embossing, gold pen - whatever you like, as long as there is gold somewhere on your Christmas card. If you haven't yet discovered my Christmas blog, now's the time to start building up a collection of Christmas cards to ease the pressure that inevitably tends to mount up later in the year.

I like to support other Christmas challenge blogs - after all, we're all united in encouraging one another to make Christmas cards throughout the year. So my card for my CHNC challenge 11 is based on the sketch for Sparkle creations Christmas 2011 week 14:

It's also for ABC Christmas: E for embossing and embellishments - the background paper and the side panel were already embossed, but I've also added a line of trees embossed on gold using a border embossing folder with my cuttlebug. The three embellishments I've used are brads, a ribbon bow, and poinsettia flowers.

It's also for Fab's big Christmas March challenge to use a picture.

There is gold on every paper used and also on the image, which is from a pack by Red Line.
