Congratulations ...

... on your graduation.

This is the latest card I made yesterday, commissioned by a neighbour. It was one of those cards where I knew what I wanted to achieve, but couldn't quite get it how I wanted it. I spent time with another free png image with a mortar board and scroll, but whatever I did the black didn't come out printed well, it was a bit stripey ... whatever I tried to do ... it looked OK on screen, but not when printed out.

I persevered and found this free png image on the internet and digitally brought it to the front over the repeated words that I'd already created, adding the 'on your graduation'.

From the beginning of thinking through the card I knew I wanted to use the Congratulations edgeable die, another in the gemini set from Crafter' Companion. I cut this using a piece of red mirror card.

I was pleased with the result and so was my neighbour.

Christmas in green

Once again the other day I used the lovely Papermania Urban Home by Christmas stamp which I inked with memento cottage ivy and, this time, I didn't heat emboss - stamped directly on to the card blank. I just added the washi tape top and bottom.

This is a large stamp so I used my Rare Earth load n fold so that I could re-ink if any bits weren't stamped well - it's good to be able to do that.

For a film enthusiast

This is a  commissioned card I made some time ago, using the rub on filmstrip and 3D stickers from Hobbycraft all matted on to the big digital image that had been printed out.

With sympathy

For this card I used one of my favourite Penny Black stamps which I always think goes well on a sympathy card. I randomly stamped the sparklers stamp inked with memento grape jello on to a piece of textured card, matting this on to the white card blank. I then used the same stamp inked with versamark and heat embossed with detail white on to the square of purple card. The sentiment stamp was from Hobbycraft inked with the grape jelly again.
