I've been busy ...

... making lots more Christmas cards and still no time to blog them. I've managed to make forty in the last couple of days.

I thought it was about time I stopped and showed some of what I've been doing, so here goes.

Because I've needed to get a lot of cards done in a short time I decided to use a favourite Tin can mail stamp several times. To save time colouring in I stamped with memento cocoa bean on to various Basic Grey papers to give a bit of variation of colour. So I'm submitting these for Basic grey 59: anything goes.

The first three cards have the image stamped on to BG porcelain, with backgrounds of porcelain and also strips of My Mind's Eye paper:

For the next card the image is stamped on to a piece of BG pyrus and the background is pyrus and a strip of MME paper:

The next two cards feature BG cappella papers and Tim Holtz tissue tape (the second one has some MME paper too):

The image is stamped on to BG Indian summer for the next card and the background paper is DCWV:

For the next card the image was stamped on to a piece of BG lily kate; the background is a piece of card that was given to me and the ribbon with gems was from Hobbycraft. This card is for Paper pretties Monday challenge: use ribbon, Inky impressions 36: use ribbon, Timbro scrap mania 38: bow, Pretty little ribbon shop 5: Christmas with a bow:

BG urban priarie was used for the background of the stamp on the next card - background a mixture of the same star card as above and some more MME paper, with the addition of some Anna Griffin stitched ribbon:

These are also for the following challenges:

Sticky notes holders

A friend who is a headteacher asked if I would make some sticky notes holders for the teachers in her Infants school - the classes are all named after sea creatures, so I was given a list of eight different ones - I googled and got pictures for each one. I cut and scored the outside pieces for the little folders using my Hougie board.

I'm entering these into the following challenges:

Gold and silver stars

I was commissioned to make a Christmas card by a friend who wants to give it to someone who loves stars.

The central star is from an Anna Griffin kit (last year or year before) - just what I needed for this card. I used silver card with gold foiled stars in the background, layered with a white card with silver stars - I punched the corners with a star punch so that the gold could be seen through the negatives. The scalloped gold with silver foiled stars was cut with a sizzix die run through my cuttlebug.

I'm linking this for:

CHNC challenge 50: traditional Christmas

Well, another week has passed and we're one more big step nearer to Christmas Day ... only just over two weeks when my CHNC challenge 50 goes live and probably less than that when you are reading this.

For this week my challenge is traditional Christmas, whatever that means to you. You might want to concentrate on traditional colours or include 'traditional' items on your card - holly, Christmas tree, snowmen, snowflakes, festive food ... whatever you think of as traditional.

My card was made from Anna Griffin papers and 3D embellishment, plus the circle silver foiled sentiment - the red paper has flocked leaves that make it a lovely touchy-feely card.

Colours are for Cupcake inspirations 139:

This is also for:

2 sisters 69: Christmas

Too busy to blog

I suppose I'm a victim of my own success - I made loads of Christmas cards during the year (even started my own CHNC blog to help me and to help others get organised for Christmas throughout the year), but I sold and gave so many for charity that I now need to make loads for our own use! It's been a very busy few days so I've had to fit in cardmaking as and when I can, but it's surprising how many cards you can make if you really get organised and make the effort.

But the downside of this is that I haven't got time to blog and show them. And, of course, once the cards are made I then need to write them ... so, one day soon (hopefully) I'll actually get back to showing some cards here.

In the meantime, back to making the cards ...

Window reindeer

This card is for Papertake sketchie time:

It's also for Critter 92: digi day - where we asked to use an image from Digital Delight - I chose Window Reindeer, a digi that I won a while ago for a challenge on Paper Playtime.

The background paper is recycled wove kraft, the turquoise paper with script is Arctic frog phreezing phrases ski bunny and I'm not sure what the paper is across the bottom, possibly English Paper Company. A sparkly glittery ribbon and a sentiment finishes the card. I chose turquoise, snowflakes (punched with a Woodware punch I received from Handy Hippo), kraft and ribbon for the December recipe challenge on The craft garden.

This is also for:

Incy wincy 123: non-traditional Christmas colours
Sugar creek hollow: non traditional Christmas colours

CCEE 1148: snowflakes & bling

Final showing of snowy postbox

A final card (well, for the time being anyway) featuring the snowy postbox digi from Delicious Doodles, this time using the sketch for Paperminutes 193:

For today Vickie (Christmas card gang - see the list on my sidebar and contact any of us for further information) has challenged us to make a card featuring snow and/or snowmen/women, so this is also for that challenge.

For a special couple

Because the family were meeting up today to celebrate mum's 90th birthday (which was on Tuesday) we all took the opportunity to exchange Christmas cards/presents and also a lot of birthday cards had to be given as well.

So yesterday I needed to make some cards and this was one of them for one of my nieces and her husband.

The background paper is from Cosy Christmas collection given recently with Quick Cards. The image and sentiments were part of a kit from QVC a year or two ago and the piece across the middle is a snippet left over from some English Paper Company paper.

This is for:

CHNC challenge 49: mainly monochromatic

It's time for challenge 49 on my CHNC blog - now that December is already here, we're heading more and more quickly towards the Big Day! I don't know about you, but I've still got loads of Christmas cards to make ... and I've been making them all year! It's the penalty for selling so many for charity ... I now need to make lots more for us to send!

For my card for CHNC challenge 49, which is to make a monochromatic or tone-on-tone card, with a limited use of other colours if you wish as long as there is one prominent colour.

I've used 3 stockings digital image, which was kindly supplied by StretchNBubbles who are sponsoring the challenge - the randomly chosen winner will be able to choose 5 digital images - and there are plenty of lovely ones to choose from. I've used the sketch for Passion for promarkers 128 using poppy promarker to colour:

The striped and snowflakes papers are from the Cosy Christmast collection given recently with Quick Cards and the polka dot paper is Wild rose studio traditional Christmas.

I'm also linking this for the following challenges:

This card is for our one of our granddaughter's birthday. I've used the sketch for Cardabilities 44 for the standing up part of the card:

I've used elements from a couple of Kanban concept card kits - mixed and matched - and gold mirror card (which makes a photo very difficult - thankfully, I was able to go outside to get a non-flash photo).
