Simply brown

Another card that I made a while ago, using a piece of card with text that I've had for ages wrapped round with some eyelash fibre (still have quite a lot of this kind of thing boxed away ... used to use it a lot, but it rarely sees the light of day now, which is a pity really). Die cut flowers from paper with text, edged with brown corduroy distress ink.

Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge 73

This is my design card for Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge 73: anything goes with a twist ... use a die on your card. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in the challenge.

The background of the card was created with a wide band recycled from a Christmas cracker with glittered gold strips by Paper Cellar and corrugated card strips. The image of Lacy Sunshine's  Christmas Boo was coloured digitally and die cut using X cut rectangular parenthesis dies, using a larger one for the red mirror mat. The poinsettias were from Hobbycraft.

The cheerful stamp pad challenge 105: B stands for bear

This is my design card for the Cheerful stamp pad challenge 105: B stands for bear. Please click on the link to see the lovely beary designs of the rest of the team and we would love you to join in our challenge.

I covered a piece of card randomly with red and yellow Pan Pastels and then brushed this lightly with a thin layer of white gesso. I then used a stencil with hearts, first using red Pan Pastel and then a thin smear of white gesso, gently wiping some of this so that the years became pink. I got the idea to use Pan Pastels and gesso in this way here. I printed out the digital image of Beary Dust Stamps 'ballerina bear' kindly supplied by the challenge sponsor, Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet. I coloured this with spectrum noir pens. I added some small pink hearts on to the larger hearts dotting with liquid pearls gold, adding some also to the bear, the sentiment oval and the chipboard number 1 that had been coloured with a spectrum.

This is, of course, for a baby's first birthday.

I can't believe it's already halfway through February and time for the mid month inspiration for CHNC challenge extra for February. You can see the wonderful designs of the team here and we would love you to join in our February challenge here - any Christmas design.

For my card I used Bugaboo Stamps Little penguin winter, kindly supplied by them as sponsors of the challenge. I coloured with spectrum noir pens. More love, hearts and red for CHNC challenge 216

As it's Valentine's day, today's CHNC challenge 216 is to use the word 'love' and/or hearts and/or the colour red on your Christmas creations. Please click on the link to see what this is all about and I hope you will. be able to join in the challenge.

My second card for CHNC challenge 216 features the lovely image 'Christmas mouse' kindly supplied by the Stamping Boutique as one of my sponsors this week. I coloured with the chameleon pens that arrived yesterday, adding glossy accents on the bauble and Art Institute fine glitter on the hat and here and there in the background. The background is a digital paper from Ooh-la-la Designs Everyday Occasions CD-rom (I changed the colour).  I've added bows, hearts and buttons.

Once again I've incorporate love, hearts and red.

Unfortunately, the photo doesn't really show the dome of glossy accents that has been put over the bauble.

CHNC challenge 216: love and/or hearts and/or red

As it's Valentine's day, today's CHNC challenge 216 is to use the word 'love' and/or hearts and/or the colour red on your Christmas creations. Please click on the link to see what this is all about and I hope you will. be able to join in the challenge.

For my first card I've included love, hearts and the colour red, featuring the lovely snowman family image that is part of Beccy Muir's snowman set (Beccy is one of this week's sponsors). I added the sentiment and mounted on to a piece of mirror card that had been embossed with one of the 8 x 8 embossing folders from the textures bundle that was delivered this week, not that the 'distressed' embossing has anything to do with Christmas, but I just wanted to use one of the textures folders. A piece of wired glittery ribbon around the card blank is pulled in with some red elastic and two glittery hearts added.

Trust in the Lord ...

... with all your heart - perhaps this card should be a reminder for me at the moment, with John still in hospital. It has my favourite colours two. CHNC challenge 215: decorate a corner

For my CHNC challenge 215 I'm looking for Christmas designs with corners decorated - one, two, three or four, your choice.

For my card I used the Stitchy Bear Stamps 'snow corner' digital image, kindly supplied by them as one of our sponsors this week. I created the card digitally, colouring parts of the snowman, adding the lettering and the lyrics to 'Frosty the snowman'.  Sorry that this isn't as clear as I'd like it to be, but time has been limited with John still in hospital.
