Let's craft and create challenge 108

This is my design card for Let's craft and create challenge 108: Christmas - please click on the link to see the wonderful crafting of others in the team and we would love you to join in our challenge.

I thought a stepper Christmas card would make a change - I used some red and gold foiled card that had been wrapped around a Marks and Spencer box (far too good to put in the paper recycling box) - everything else was from a Hunkydory kit, including the offcut of music that was used on one of the steps (waste not, want not!), also the strip behind the sentiment at the bottom.

Last design card for CCAYR December challenge

This is my last design card for Christmas cards all year round December challenge. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs from the rest of the team and we would love to see your entries there.

It's very different to the previous cards, this time using the wonderful Penny Black chill day stamp, inked with memento tuxedo black and coloured with spectrum noir pencils - I avoided using alcohol pens because I wanted to keep the card one layer and they would bleed through. All the fluffy white parts of Santa's outfit were glittered with Chloe's sparkalicious glitter applied with a Quickie glue pen. With the addition of the silver ho ho ho the CAS card was finished - sorry the ho ho ho don't look silver here (they certainly do irl).

Second card for December CCAYR

This is my second design card for Christmas cards all year round December challenge. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs from the rest of the team and we would love to see your entries there.

I inked the lovely Inkadinkado angel stamp with versamark and heat embossed with WOW metallic medley - straight on to the black card blank, simply wrapping around a piece of silver netting, topped with silver ribbon and adding a chipboard star that had been swiped with versamark and heat embossed with the same powder.

Unfortunately, the camera just wouldn't capture the look of the embossed angel, which is a pity.

Clean and simple for CCAYR December challenge

I inked the lovely Stampotique stamp by Amy Wilson with versamark and heat embossed with metallic gold rich - straight on to the black card blank. I folded over some gold netting to wrap around the card and tie into a knot.

Santa Claus

A bit more time to craft challenge 9

This is a simple card using a printed out piece of Lozzy's Friday Freebie Dinky stars digital paper on too which I matted part of an upcycled old Christmas card wrapped with some ribbon supplied by Lozzy. The area around the trees is very glittery, but doesn't show here.

CHNC challenge extra for December

Where has this year gone to? Can you believe we are entering the last month of the year and by the time this month has finished Christmas will have come and gone. So this is my design card for the final month of 2015 for my CHNC challenge extra for December. For a change I used unusual colours for Christmas with a free background found here and the Raggedy angel - Lay on star image from Bugaboo Stamps, sponsors of the challenge, laid on to this, fading till it merged with the background, adding the text.

An outdoor scene

This is my design card for the Glory of Christmas challenge 73: an outdoor scene. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.

I used a glittered outdoor scene that was rescued from a card received last year or before, matting it on to a foiled background on to which was stuck an offcut strip of striped card on to which I added a couple of almost-rejected pieces of ribbon (two separate pieces because there wasn't a long enough piece for the whole length).

Using die cuts

I love the Lacy Sunshine Christmas boo image (coloured digitally in Microsoft Paint) - Lacy Sunshine are sponsoring Suzy Bee's this week. I die cut this using a Docrafts Xcut rectangle parenthesis die, using a larger one to cut out the mat underneath, using an offcut from my Christmas box. The background card is from Kanban (it's been lurking for some time now), a couple of Poundland flowers and a red and pink bow rescued from a box of freebie No. 7 cosmetics and a silver sentiment saying Happy Christmas.

Stepper card for stepson

This design card for Crafting Musketeers halfway post for November should have been shown here yesterday, but it was sent for my stepson's birthday for today and I didn't want it seen till now. Playing with purple

This is my design card for Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge 112: anything goes with a twist ... add some purple. Please click on the link to see the lovely purple designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.

I didn't need much of a nudge to get the purple pens flowing and to find pieces of purple patterned papers in my offcuts box, including a piece that had been stamped with a Dawn Bibby swirls stamp (left over from a card long ago). The image is Dilly Beans Molly's hearts frame which I coloured with spectrum noir pens. With the addition of a piece of ribbon, some sparkly gems from Tiger and a Craftime sentiment, the card was finished.

The Glory of Christmas challenge 71: CAS

This is my design card for the Glory of Christmas challenge 71: clean and simple. Please click on the link to see the lovely CAS designs by others in the team and we would love you to join in our challenge.

I've used papers that were free with a Quick Cards magazine matting the inner piece on to a matt piece of silver. I used stamps that were given with the papers, inking all of the stamps with versamark and heat embossing the sentiment and the lower corner with detail silver powder and the snowflakes with WOW silver dollar to give some more sparkle. The card looks more sparkly in real life.

CHNC challenge extra for November mid-month inspiration

CHNC challenge 255: red and green must be seen

A new challenge starts this morning on my CHNC blog - for CHNC challenge 255 I'm saying that 'red and green must be seen' - a little or a lot - and any other colours can be used too if desired.

So this is my card with a holographic red shiny background with stars (very hard to get a photo, especially as this wasn't done till the evening before the challenge leaving no daylight to help). The three squares featuring stamped and embossed pieces of poinsettia were upcycled from a card that was received ages ago. I think there actually was a fourth square ... but somehow it's got lost, so I thought the sentiment strip with a couple of Poundland poinsettias would fill the gap nicely.

For my card I used a Dazzling Ace Designs image kindly supplied by the sponsor of the challenge, fading this digitally around the edges and superimposing on a free background that I found here, changing the colour hues, adding the quote by A E Housman and the flowers in the corners.

For my card I used the coloured image Stitchy Bear's Kaz Kraftz beary happy winter - kindly supplied by the sponsor.

B for bear, blue, brown, birthday - matting the cut out bear on to a Kanban topper that I've had for ages and then on to some sentiment card.

CHNC challenge 254

My CHNC challenge 254 has started this morning and this week I'm asking to see bright or sparkly colours on your Christmas creations. It's a busy time for crafters now that Christmas is looming within our sights, so, if you make anything for Christmas, please share it if it fits the challenge ... and don't forget that you can share anything for Christmas on my CHNC challenge extra for November - hope to see you there. So here is my hard for CHNC challenge 254 using some of the lovely colourful and sparkly papers from the DCWV NOEL holiday glitzy glitter stack (there's one being given away as one of the four prizes this week) kindly supplied by Die Cuts With a View. I used an A5 tent style card.

The photo doesn't do the card justice because the oval picture is actually underneath an acetate layer that was taken from the cover of the stack - this was too good to waste:

 I covered up the writing with a strip of the striped glittered red and white paper and then turned it sideways, sticking down on the right had side, but leaving the acetate part open on the left. The little reindeer is stuck on to the outside of the acetate, as is the greeting and the poinsettias.
