Christmas Eve

Another card made yesterday, this time using the lovely Gemini cut and emboss folder called Christmas Eve. I cut and embossed using a piece of black self adhesive sheet, which I then stuck on to holographic silver card - this, of course, looks different depending how the light is shining on it. I added some punched out snowflakes. The sentient was stuck on to a small piece of the holographic silver, and everything on to another A5 tent opening card blank.

Apart from the card blank and sentiment, everything else used up offcuts/snippets and so I am entering this into Pixie's snippets 389 - so glad to be back in the playground.

DL Christmas card

I had an offcut of patterned pearlescent card, so I positioned it into the Gemini Christmas angel cut and emboss folder and then mounted on to dark blue mirror card and on to the blue DL card blank, with the addition of the sentiment.

This view shows that the angel cut  out was mounted on to blue mirror card (a lot darker actually than here because the light is full on it):

Winter wonderland

Another card made yesterday - A5 tent style using Gemini cut and emboss Winter Wonderland folder with a piece of chocolate brown mirror card, with a piece of gold mirror card behind it and the Merry Christmas band across a matching piece of the brown mirror card.

Away in a manger

A card made yesterday using another of the cut and emboss Gemini folders, Away in a manger, cut with silver mirror card and mounted on to pearlescent gold, using a piece of them to mount the clear tape sentiment made on my dymo letratag.

Once again, I'm sharing two photos to try to show how this card looks, but neither of them show it as well as it looks irl.

Hark, the herald angels sing

A card made yesterday using the lovely Gemini cut and emboss Christmas angel folder, cutting with gold foil and backing with silver holographic foil. The sentiment across the bottom was made on my dymo letratag with clear tape, then stuck on to a piece of the mirror card.

As usual with foiled card, very difficult to take a photo to show it well, so I'm showing two photos, neither of which look as bright and lovely as irl.

Have a spud-tacular birthday

I made this card yesterday - commissioned to be given to a son who is a gardener. I used papers and other pieces from the Kanban allotment collection. The background for the front of the side opening A5 card is a piece of the grey wood effect paper with an overlay of vellum with secateurs and little garden forks. I was able to secure the vellum well, with sticking the toppers over it and the little fences, potted plant and the cut out wellies. The little circle at the top says 'Just for you Son'.

Inside, using more papers from the it and the plants and fences etc.

New home

I didn't blog anything yesterday ... a busy day with other things that needed to be done, including giving a lot of thought and planning for this card.

I was commissioned to make a new home card, asking me to include a garden with a pond and a cat. I used a picture of a garden for the background, digitally adding the clipart pond, fading the edges to blend in with the garden. I flipped it so that the cat could be facing the pond. The sentiment was generated on computer and printed. I printed out the picture twice so that I could cut some of the little rocks and raise them with 3D foam and added gems here and there, including on the bow around the cat's neck.

Simply snowflakes

When I went to the NEC craft show last year I bought s pack of Tonic dies 'Starry starry night, simply screens die set', but confess that, until now, I hadn't used them. So I've been playing with the snowflakes one, die cutting directly into a DL sideways opening card blank and then adding a piece of pearlecent card behind the cut, lightly using very small amounts of Dawn Bibby's quick stick glue on parts of the snowflakes, keeping the card simple by just adding the sentiment.

Trying to show the pearlescent card better:

Peace on earth

I started this card a few days ago, cutting the Peace on Earth and Holy Night with edge-ables dies from Crafter's Companion ... and then I wasn't sure what I could add to it.

Yesterday I had a delivery of some dies from CC was this Christmas Scene, part of the Nature's Garden collection, The bauble scene was cur using four dies, mounting the three circle ones together and then topping them with the bow. I used three different silvers - the inner one is holographic, the next is mirror card and the outer one is matt silver. I know that the wise men cut with the mirror card look dark here, but otherwise I got the reflection of me - lol!!
