Something a little different

I bought the Gemini Daisy Delight from Crafter's Companion some time ago, but, up until now, I hadn't used it. It's two dies that interlock together on a gate fold card. Papers are My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Dilly Dally paper pad and the Happy Birthday die for the inside was from Crafter's Companion. I ran an offcut of card through my xyron so that the die cut was backed with adhesive, making it easy to add. Flowers were from Hobbycraft.

The papers had a bit more of a blue look than the photos show.

Happy birthday to you

 

A commissioned A5 tent opening birthday card for a granddaughter who has just gone to Trinity College, University of Melbourne, hence the logo badge and a photo of some of the choir as Freya is joining it. The background created digitally with the birthday words and song, printed out with the other elements backed with gold mirror card.

A birthday thank you

I was commissioned to make a birthday card for a lady who has a responsible admin job in the NHS, currently working at home. I digitally added the Thank You rainbow to a computer screen and printed, adding to the rainbow paper on the side opening A5 card. The flowers are rub ons and the birthday sentiment was made on my dymo letratag.

CHNC challenge 530

This is my design card for my CHNC challenge 530 -  please click on the link to find out what it's all about and I hope you'll be able to join in with your Christmas designs - anything goes as long as it's Christmas with the optional theme of 'use some gold'.

I used one of the lovely cut and emboss folders from Crafter's Companion with gold mirror card, with the sentiment printed and matted on to gold mirror.

Knit and natter

This is a commissioned card to be given to a lady who has a white westie and loves knitting. I fussy cut out the westie putting the die cut ball of wool in his paw (needles and yarn, but I didn't use the needles), with a die cut of knitting (knit and natter'- both from Crafter's Companion Sara's signature collection. I used an offcut of paper for the background (bought as part of a set years ago) and added the rub on flowers and ther sentiment.

Let's get baking

A commissioned card made this week for a youngster who enjoys baking. The papers and the stamped image (coloured with spectrum noir pencils and fussy cut out) are all from Papermania ... Cupcake Boutique papers and Cupcake Baking stamp. I printed the sentiment and cut with a todo die, using a bigger one to cut a mat for it. The individual cupcakes are from an old Dawn Bibby kit.

For my card I used Kaisercraft papers including the die cut circle  behind the upcycled door scene, layered on to a gold mirror card die cut, with the sentiment circle and the glittered foam backed snowflakes.

For a lover of mathematics

I was commissioned to make a card for a great grandson who loved maths and currently is into fractions, decimals and percentages. I was pleased to find this maths table as a free download, printing it out and layering on to an A5 side opening landscape card. I generated the sentiments on computer, printed out and backed with a dark green mirror card, using another piece on to which I put the wooden numerals.

Happy lockdown Anniversary

I was commissioned to make an Anniversary card for a daughter and son-in-law celebrating in lockdown. They planned to have a special meal delivered. I was asked if somehow I could show two cats to represent theirs, sitting at table with them ... well, this is what I managed to do. I found an image of a cat at table to download and 'played' digitally, reversing the image for the second cat and putting side by side with the sentiment 'Please may we join you for your celebration meal?' This was then printed and put on the stand up part of the easel card, colouring the cats with spectrum noir pencils.

The actual piece of card used to make the easel was embossed and brushed with fired brick distress ink ... and it wasn't till now that I realise only a very little of this shows under the sentiment ... I should have taken a picture of the back.

I used a Papermania stamp inked with memento love letter to randomly stamp over the base, wrapping a ribbon round this and adding the printed greeting matted on to red mirror card to serve as a stopper.

I cut a piece of red mirror cardwith the heartfelt wishes Gemini edge'able die and stuck at the top (covering the joins at the back with another piece of card). Hearts were added (the one between the cats says 'with love'.

This is a quick card made with the card blank edged with gold foiling with the addition of the cute cat with the little robin upcycled from a card received, with the addition of the foam backed gold glittered snowflakes and the sentiment.

For a cricket fan

This is a commissioned side opening A5 card for an adult grandson who loves cricket. The background and the ball were free downloads which I played with digitally, adding the text and tweaking until I got the size I wanted. Once this was printed out (after a few 'false' tries) I added the gold foiled photos that were originally from Kanban.

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper February 2021 challenge

This is my design card for my Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper February 2021 challenge. .If you make anything that includes some patterned paper you can link your entries and you might be the randomly chosen winner of the lovely prize that I'm giving away. For my 8 x 8 card I used pieces from The Paper Boutique Winter Gnomes collection, matting and layering various paper pieces with the topper and a couple of the sentiment pieces. I then added the sparkly gems at the corners.

The optional theme for my CHNC challenge 527 this week is 'Christmas gnomes' so I thought I would make another card with some of the collection in addition to the card shown on the Christmas challenge.
