Thinking of you in deepest sympathy

This is for the sketch on Try stamping - or not - on Tuesday 369:

I followed the option of 'scrap busting' - all pieces cut from offcuts that were around on my desk from making earlier cards, mounted on to a purple card base. The sentiment square was upcycled from an old card - lace added from stash - not enough to go all the way across, so, still using up scraps, a piece either side and nobody would know it wasn't one piece. The sentiment square, mounted on another scrap has foam pads top and bottom to raise a bit from the lace.

I turned the sketch to the left and stamped one of my favourite Penny Black stamps 'sparklers' inked with memento grape jelly, directly on to a piece of patterned paper from my offcuts box, also inking and stamping the sentiment from Hobbycraft.

85th birthday card

This is another card commissioned by a retired Salvation Army Officer similar to a couple I've shown before. I was asked to make a card for a SA colleague for her 85th birthday.  I used the picture of an open bible as before, this time digitally adding the new hat worn by ladies, adding the old style bonnet with the picture of the flag. I was asked to add a black car as the recipient used to drive one. The background is from the lovely Downton Abbey pack from Crafter's Companion bought some time ago, with the little domed brass frame from The Works.

Happy birthday Hyacinth

This is a commissioned card for a friend to send to her mother ... her name, of course, is Hyacinth, so, obviously I was asked to incorporate that flower into the card.  I used a free download digital image, printed, coloured with spectrum noir pens and cut with a todo decorative oval die, using a smaller one to cut the sentiment which I had printed from computer, edging both with a spectrum pen. The background paper is an unknown piece on to which I added the ribbon with blingy sequins from Poundland and the lovely lilac lace from The Range, with some 3D butterflies with acetate wings and rhinestones here and there. I gave the card to my friend this morning and she was thrilled with it and knows that her mother will love it.

Keep fit and drink wine

A commissioned card with the request to include keep fit and wine. Some unknown paper as background, Kanban topper with a die cut bottle of wine and frame. I found the silhouettes free online and added the Relax! sentiment, placing the printed out card within the frame (took a couple of goes to get this right). Crocheted flowers, buttons and sentiments from stash.

Viola for Lucy

This is a commissioned card made for a friend's granddaughter who plays the viola. The viola was from a freebie image, printed and cut round. Flowers from Hobbycraft, butterfly and dragonfly from The Works, ribbon from stash. Background is a piece of My Paper Stash card and two offcuts of Hunkydory at the bottom of the inside. The large sentiment piece is from Kanban.

I think my card incorporates some of the colour and feel of a garden. Having read the summary of the book, I'm prompted to get it and read.

Pearl anniversary

This is an 8 x 8 commissioned 30th (pearl) anniversary card for a friend to give to her husband.

I chose the  My Paper Stash background paper because it has a bit of a musical theme, which is appropriate for the recipient (hope he will forgive  and like the pink - not too 'in your face' pink - lol!).

All the sentiment pieces are gold foiled, although difficult to see here, so are the numerals and the glittered hearts. I added 30 pale pink pearls - one for every year of a Pearl anniversary.

On the right hand side at the top I stamped over the background paper Stampington forget me not stamp inked with memento rich cocoa, covering the 'forget me not' words with the 'To my husband' gold foiled sentiment. I used a spectrum noir pencil to lightly shade around parts of the heart.
