Happy new home

A commissioned new home card that I made a while ago, using up various offcut pieces of patterned paper, a left over piece of ribbon, a key that had been lurking in my supplies all by itself, no idea where it came from and some of the little wooden houses that I think originally came from The Works ... some time ago.

I'm joining in the Pixie playground ... I haven't been in there much and I so want to get back, even if it's only to sit on a bench and watch everyone else ... it you don't know what I'm talking about, click on the challenge link below.

Happy 35th anniversary

This was a comissioned 8 x 8 card using background by Hobby House, an offcut piece from DCWV Meriposa paper and various stickers, sentiment and letters. The recipients love cats, hence the inclusion of them.

Sorry, the photo is a bit too dark ...  and the card has gone now.

Thinking of you

Another CAS card I made yesterday using another Crafter's Companion gemini edgeables (I'm loving these ... so glad I bought them). This time it's die cut into silver holographic paper and mounted on to textured card blank, with the addition of the flowers. This time I ran the die cut through my zyron in order to stick the delicate bits on.

It's difficult to get a photo when holographic is used, so I'm showing two at different angles.

Simply birthday

I couldn't resist making another similar card with one of the other edgeables in the set from Crafter's Companion, this time using the Happy Birthday, cutting an offcut piece of Hunkydory adorable scorable. I didn't glue under the lovely edging - it just gives a bit of dimension. The large yellow flower has been in my stash for years - it seemed to be just right for the card with the little flower added.

The yellow is a lot more sunshiny irl ... it's gone a bit dull here now.

This is for:

Simply thank you

For this CAS card, a white card blank on to which is the die cut with the lovely gold card (an offcut piece) die cut with the Crafter's Companion gemini edgeables (I bought the set recently). It was very fiddly putting little dots of glue on the centres of the flowers. I'm really tempted to add something, but I quite like it just CAS.

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper August 2020 challenge

This is my design card for my Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper August 2020 challenge. .If you make anything that includes some patterned paper you can link your entries and you might be the randomly chosen winner of the lovely prize that I'm giving away. Please click on the challenge link to find out more and join in the fun.

This is a commissioned 8 x 8 card for a Granddaughter's 21st birthday. I was asked to include a white mini car and some make up ... and some flowers. All papers are Dovecraft from their Kiss and Make up paper pad.

The sentiment panel was done on computer and printed out on to Hunkydory shades of pink card, quickly pouring detail gold embossing powder on and heating. This was then cut out and embossed with a todo die, cutting another for underneath, raising the sentiment panel with foam pads. The Birthday sentiment panel is gold foiled, as are the numerals, although the gold doesn't show up very well here. Flowers were all from Hobbycraft (some time ago because I haven't been there now for months because of shielding.

Here's the snowman again, this time pyramages and using up other bits on the side. Sorry that I showed the wrong image at first, which will be what is seen when I've entered this into challenges, but I'm now showing the correct card:

Red, white and blue snowman

Another red, white and blue snowman, using one of those toppers I found in my Christmas stuff, with  Kanban strips either side, on a tent opening card blank with the scalloped edge, with a piece of red card inside so it shows when the card is closed.

Red, white and blue Christmas

Red, white and blue isn't a traditional Christmas combo, but I think it works. I've been sorting my Christmas stuff, some of it quite old, and came across a little bag of red, white and blue toppers (haven't a clue where they came from ... it's too long ago to remember). I had some offcuts of Christmas papers and some red card that needed using, so this is the first of a few cards made using those toppers. The background of the paper with the houses looks more lilac  on here, but it is definitely blue irl.

Oh I do love to be beside the seaside

I was commissioned to make a 70th birthday card for a friend's sister who loves the seaside.I can't remember where the scalloped circles with beach huts came from, but they were just right for what I wanted to do. I stamped and embossed the words of the song which were part of a set by rubbadubbado, as was the deckchair stamp I used for the inside of the bottom of the easel. Other bits and pieces were from stash

Merry Christmas

Another card stamped and heat embossing, inked with versamark and embossed with detail silver powder, stamped directly on to the black card blank. This is a 5 x 5 stamp. Sentimentally yours by Phill Martin called Winter Foliage - lots of lovely detail. Once again, the embossing is a lot more glossy irl. The lovely silver poinsettias are from Italian Options.

Home by Christmas

This one layer card was made by inking the Papermania Urban Home by Christmas stamp with Hunkydory prism blackcurrant jam ink and heat embossing with detail clear powder. I added a white and silver snowflake from Italian Options at the top left and bottom right, but they don't really show up here. The embossing powder has really made the image so lovely and glossy, but it doesn't look as good here as it does in earl life.

A Christmas Card stamp

Yet another card using the 'A Christmas Card' stamp by Papermania, this time inking with versamark and heat embossing with detail silver, cutting the image at the left hand edge to mat and layer with some silver holographic mirror card before mounting on the black card blank, adding a couple of snowflakes.

Golden Christmas cheer

Another card using the lovely big 'A Christmas card' stamp by Papermania, this time inked with versamark and heat embossed with detail gold, with the addition of the lovely foiled washi tape.

It's difficult to get a photo that shows the lovely shine of the embossing, but you can see some of it here:

Time to garden

This is a card for a keen gardener friend's birthday. The background paper and the overlaid vellum panel is from a Kanban collection called 'The allotment by Beth' (there are some lovely other fun papers and toppers in that kit). The 3D stickers came from Hobbycraft and Poundland and the Birthday panel is Dovecraft.

Christmas cheer

I love this big Christmas Cheer stamp - A Christmas card by Papermania - I inked up with versamark and then heat embossed with detail silver. Just the addition of the silver glitter tape on to the black card blank and it was finished.

Hopefully, this shows the glitter and heat embossing a bit better:

Purple Christmas

Purple is my favourite crafting colour, so I loved making this, very similar to others I've shown using a Kanban embossed card that I brushed with a Hunkydory prism ink. The topper is a leftover from a kit - it has some glitter on it, but that doesn't show here. Just the addition of the glittered tapes and sentiment and the card was finished. It looks an odd shape here because of the tilt of the camera.
