Strictly speaking this lad is telling the dog to be quiet, but I think his finger is definitely in a pointing position:
It's raining again, so the picture was taken with a flash at a bit of a strange angle, thus casting the shadow, but I quite like it, so I decided to settle for it rather than to try unsuccessfully for a better shot.
