Get well card

It never rains but it pours! So it seems in our family atm. As regular visitors to my blog know, I've got shingles. Yesterday my brother had a fall and has broken his hip - he is having an op today to pin and plate it.

I wanted to get a card into the post for him, but not feeling up to much, so I've used a quick Nurse Dottie digital image that I got long ago from Charmed Cards & Crafts, adding my own sentiment. I hope his nurses are a bit more gentle than this one looks! I've just added a piece of stitched ribbon and a few medical bits from Jolees stickers.

I didn't deliberately set out to make a red, white and blue card ... it just sort of happened and then I realised how many challenges there are this week with that theme.

So I'm linking this for the following challenges:

  20. Oh, dear Hazel, I'm sorry for all the bother you are enduring right now. Shingles? That is terrible and I hope you are finding some relief in doctor's care. Your poor brother hope he is on the mend as well! I truly can empathize - my mother has been going through all sorts of things for nearly a year and my brother broke his neck last fall. so, I am sending healing thoughts to you. I have missed visiting you and will make a better effort to come on by and be inspired.

I'm amazed you had it in you to create but doggone it, you sure did and did so beautifully! Your brother should smile when he sees this as it is very sweet and funny. Love the embellishments. The nurse doesn't look mean, she just looks er....focused!

Thank you for sharing your creativity with us at Opus Gluei and I hope that when you are feeling better you come back for more fun with us!
