This is my second design card for CCAYR April challenge, which is to make a card featuring poinsettias, with the option of also using a doily. Please click on the challenge link to see the wonderful crafting of the rest of the team - and please join in the challenge with us. Tracey Orchard (one of the design team) is supplying a prize from Platypus Creek Stamps.
My card is based on the sketch for Sketch Saturday 303 which was to choose any sketch between 215 and 302 - I chose sketch 250:
I used an 8 x 8 card blank, brushing the edges with fired brick distress ink. The background card is an offcut of a piece of Kanban card left over from a card long ago. The down strip was from my offcuts and the strip of poinsettias across the bottom was from a Kanban kit a long while ago. The scalloped shape behind the doily is the front of a card blank (seems a waste to use it just as a card blank because I now have another one the same to use on another card). The poinsettia in the middle is a stamped image coloured with spectrum noir pens and cut out, adding some little red gems. The stamp I used is a very old Anita's one - it also has a couple of swirls, but I cut those off. The sentiment is from Anna Griffin.
