This is my card for this week's CHNC challenge 199: use something forgotten or never used - if you click the link you can get more info, see the prizes that can be won ... and I hope you will join in the challenge.
I used a Stampotique stamp by Maryse called 'Christmas tree tile' inked with memento cottage ivy. I don't know why, but, despite having had this stamp for some time, I had never actually inked and used it. Somehow it got behind others and just didn't get to see the light of day! I coloured with spectrum noir pens and mounted on to a page out of a story book called The Drgaon in the Christmas Tree written by Patrick W Ledray. I added the stars punched out of gold mirror card, with gold gems added to the centres and to the small stars in the image.
I based my card on the sketch given for Seems a little sketchy 75:
This is a poor photo because of trying to avoid flash light bouncing off the mirror card - a common problem, unfortunately.
This picture taken this morning without flash is a bit better:
This is also for:
Stampotique 169: book text
Allways something creative: text
Daring cardmakers: for the love of a good book
Southern girls: getting wordy on it
Aloha Friday 34: dies and/or punches
House of cards October: punches & dies
Addicted to stamps and more 117: make your mark
Hi Hazel, another good challenge and one that should be a dawdle for a lot of crafters. Who of us hasn't got something forgotten or not used in our stash :) Great card ... like the use of a book page for the background layer. I find mirror card is incredibly difficult to photograph too. Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you discovered this NBUS stamp (as wonderful Darnell calls our "never before used stuff"); its debut is nothing short of lovely! Such a pretty card; the trees and swirls are so eye-catching and placing it on a printed background adds to the impact. Thank you for sharing at ATSM!

It is fun to find a "lost treasure" and make it feel love by covering it with ink! Thanks for joining us at the House of Cards!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, Hazel! The text b/ground and glittery stars look great and the stamp is lovely. Thank you for sharing at ATSM.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, the photography is the toughest challenge, Hazel, but I think you did a great job here. Your card is great, and you have brilliantly used the book text! Thanks for participating in the Stampotique Designers' Challenge!
ReplyDeleteCards that use mirror card on them are gorgeous and it really is unfortunate they don't take too good but you have captured it beautifully here xx
