This is my design card for Buckwell Crafts challenge 8: spots or stripes or both. Please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.
I've used A Lil Digi Heaven 'beach lounger', kindly supplied by one of the challenge sponsor. Lozzy will also be giving Micro Dots Digi Papers and Checkout Digi Papers to two winners.
Unfortunately, the idea that I had for my card was better in my head than the finished result. I used drawing gun to cover up the image while I brushed Spectrum Noir aqua tints across the piece of card. This is the first time I had used drawing gum, so the result was far from perfect and I'm still trying to get better results with the aquatints ... I should have given myself more time. I apologise to Lozzy and my teamies for my poor effort.
I coloured the image with Spectrum noir pens, including putting the spots and stripes on the beach loungers.
The yellow ink for the sand was mixed with a bit of gold, so in real life there is a lovely shimmer.

I LOVE your beach scene! The sand, sea and sky you created with all the brush strokes looks great with the image you used. I think you did a great job with the drawing gum; your masked areas look great! (My first attempt at masking with a similar product was a disaster!!!) Thanks for trying a new technique and sharing it with us over at Perfectly Rustics.
