Have a holly, jolly Christmas

Yes, I know it's Easter, not Christmas, so first of all I wish everyone a HAPPY EASTER.

This is my first card for my CHNC challenge 118 that starts today - I'm asking for cards based on a Christmas carol or song.

I wanted to use the 'Christmas holly' that was kindly supplied by Cedar Chest Designs, on of the sponsors of CHNC challenge 118 - I thought of some popular carols and then found this old carol that is probably not well known. It's quite hard to see on the picture, so I think it's worth showing it here:

Have a holly, jolly Christmas,
It's the best time of the year.
I don't know if there'll be snow,
But have a cup of cheer.
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone your meet.

I printed the image directly on to a piece of Authentique paper from the 'peaceful collection' and coloured with Spectrum noir (I haven't deserted my copics and promarkers, but have added the SNs to my collection), also printing the carol direct to paper. The piece of sparkly ribbon has been in my Christmas box for some time and needed using (another piece used on my next card) and the gems are My Mind's Eye 'all is bright', part of a package that I won recently.

  8. Hi Hazel, Indeed I DO know that song...we have it on an old vinyl LP, sung by Burl Ives! Your card is so lovely, with the background print, and your green velvet ribbon sets off all your bling just so nicely. Will try to get a card & see if I can play in this week's challenge. TFS and Congrats to your winners. They had some beautiful cards.
