CBC CCAD 6 + DCM 10 minute Christmas card + Lots to Do 38: Christmas

This is a quick card that qualifies for this week's DCM challenge to make a Christmas card in ten minutes - and, as it's a Christmas card, it also qualifies for this week's Lots to do.

The main reason though why I made this card was for CCAD 6 on CBC: 'I NEED A CARD and it MUST be a CHRISTMAS CARD and must include PINK and TURQUOISE.'

I used a Brenda Pinnick base card and just added adhesive backed glittered chipboard letters and shapes.

CBC CCAD 5

The Christmas-challenge-a-day has been continuing this month on CBC. So far I've only done the challenges for days 1 - 4, but now I've managed CCAD 5 - make 4 tags - I needed some more, so this is just right. I used some of the Papermania strips and mounted them on some Branda Pinnick papers and added one or two other bits:

Rosie Dee's challenge 13 mini book

On Rosie-Dee's Challenge blog last Sunday, Dee asked a question and said there would be a blank beer-mat mini book for the first two to get the answer right. Gez and I won one and yesterday I received not only the mini book, but also ribbons, flowers and buttons:



So this is the challenge this week: 'This week I would like you to make a christmas themed mini book, no need to add photos just yet, its just getting one prepared for after the festive period, then all you have to do is add photos.'

I've used the mini book, ribbons, flowers and buttons sent to me by Rosie and Dee and a few bits and pieces that are in my Christmas box, including various background papers.

At last!!!

At last I've done some crafting - finally done my DLO in Net's lovely CJ: 'When I was a little girl' for the group on CBC.

Net has asked for us to include a photo and ribbons and flowers, so this is what I've done (the swirly background paper is some I've had from ages - not sure what it is - the plain green is DCWV textured):





I'm so glad I've got that done - sorry to the rest of the group for being late.

BF Advent 11, 12, 13

Gosh, a couple of days have gone by in a flash. Here are the advent pressies I received from 11, 12 and 13 (today):







Nothing crafty to show yet - nothing done since Monday. The past few days have been taken up with writing cards, wrapping, preparing packages and posting etc etc - and a visit to St Thomas for an appointment for John yesterday and not feeling too brilliant.

Hoping that I'll be doing some crafting later today - I need to do my DLO in a CJ for CBC which should have been done and posted - I'm usually not late, but time defeated me with this one.

And no HS:MS:HS from me now for a while - it's not that I don't want to take part, but essentials have to be done.

Crafty Creations 29: holiday wishes

Three quick cards for the 'holiday wishes' challenge on Crafty Creations, using images I got in the concept card package I bought from QVC:

Ooh-la-la Creations 25: shaker cards/movement

This is a bit of a cheat in more ways than one. I made this card the other day (put it on here) and then yesterday I thought what a lovely card it would make for one of our granddaughters - she has a birthday later this week. So I printed bits on some BG paper and inked the edges and added to the card:



The challenge on Ooh-la-la this week is to make a shaker card or one with movement - well, this card definitely has shakers on it, but they were ready-made ones, so I'm cheating really, but at this time of year with all the busy-ness of Christmas and so many family birthdays to make for, I think a bit of cheating must be allowed! - in fact, I reckon it's using initiative to save some time!

Arty Girlz Recycled challenge

While looking on Arty Girlz to see what this week's challenge is (haven't done it yet) I noticed that there is an ongoing recycling challenge, so this card is for that. The picture of the candles was from an old card - too good to just throw in the recycling box - and the background paper was one free with a magazine:

BG 14: Oh so charming

I need to make quite a few family birthday cards, including grandchildren. One granddaughter will be ten on New Year's Eve (I hope that you don't look here, Dani - don't think she ever does).

Anyway, I wanted to make a 'girlie' card and thought that I'd use the theme on BG this week 'oh so charming'.

'For this weeks challenge we would like to see some charms on your creations, you can have as many as you like, and of course not forgetting to use at least 1 item from BasicGrey somewhere on your creations.'

I've used three different papers from the BG sultry range and folded the card back. The 3D stickers are some I've had for a while and hadn't yet found a use for them - I felt the handbag charm went perfectly hanging on the spiral clip.





As you can see, there are some more 3d stickers on the inside of the front flap:

BF Advent 6 and 7

Lots to do 37: canvas

The challenge on Lots to do this week is to use canvas. I've printed on to canvas (had to stick the canvas sheet at the top to a piece of paper so that the printer 'took it'. The green background is HOTP paper and I thought the sticky ribbons added to the canvas feel of the card.

Pollycraft challenge 4

This card is for the challenge on Pollycraft - there is a choice to make a card using the given sketch and/or using some downloaded papers. I decided to use both the sketch and the papers and just added a sentiment, some jewels and a vellum image:



Sorry that the photo isn't a good one (particularly the jewels look too dark and the vellum looks too light), but there is no daylight.

Claire's Crafty Corner candy and card sketch

Claire is offering blog candy to celebrate 5,000 hits and also giving an extra chance of being drawn by making a card to a sketch she's posted. Why not go over and have a look and perhaps make a card - I hope to do one soon.

BG challenge 13: aperture

This week's challenge on BG: 'For this weeks challenge we would like to see an Aperture in your creation, It can be any shape, size or quantity that you like ( for those of you not familiar with an aperture, An aperture is a hole or opening that acts as a window on your creation), And of course not forgetting to use at least one item from BasicGrey somewhere on your creation.'

I'm only just scraping in with this because of a combination of preparing to sell cards etc at the local school today and still not feeling well.

Anyway, I used my new cricut cartridgde 'wild card' to make the card and the envelope.

The card was cut from BG Urban Couture Cashmere and the cut out oval was stuck inside the card. I then cut the frame around the aperture and the oval for the computer printed sentiment with BG Urban Couture Lustra, using this as well to cut the shape for the envelope (I love the leaf of the flap).

CBC CCAD 4

Today's challenge is to make a gift box and tag. Sue gave instructions for making the box.

I've got no idea what the paper is - it was just sitting in my rack ready for a rainy day. The embellishments are all Craft House.

Salt: God is good

This time it was Kimberly's turn to choose the topic for the Salt challenge 'God is good' and you can read what she wrote here.

I've based my LO around the song: 'God is good, we sing and shout it'. The papers I've used are some I've had for quite a while and can't remember where they were from.

The dancer was clipart which I printed on to the paper, which already had the clocks on.

I made a mistake with the title, but didn't have any more paper like it to be able to do it again, so I've let it stand. The word 'TIME' is meant to be further over (and I thought it was when it was on the screen, but it obviously wasn't, because this is how it printed).
