A sporting chance?

I hope this card is sporty enough for Cute Card Thursday's challenge 61: 'a sporting chance'.

I've used the sketch on Card Patterns challenge 15:

I've used Junkitz Earth Madras for the background - which is good for 365 cards day 80: 'you're so plaid'. I've also used Junkitz Earth dots and some Maya Road stripey ribbon, as well as a piece of Docrafts sticky ribbon with the scalloped edge.

Birdie twinchies

These twinchies are for the first challenge on the new Something Completely Different blog. This is what the team says:

'The idea of "Something Completely Different" is to have a different challenge per month and a different theme each week - so, hopefully, you'll all have a go at something completely different to your nomal artwork....So, for the Month of May the challenge is "TWINCHIES" a Twinchie is 2" square so a lovely size to start with.
This weeks theme is "WINGS"'

I was going to do something with butterflies, but then I remembered a couple of cute Hero Arts stamps I have and decided to depict birdies instead.

The backgrounds of my twinchies were made with the shaving foam technique, as shown a few days ago.

I stamped with black versafine and clear embossed, coloured with copics and then swiped a versamark pad over them and heat embossed again with clear powder. The first one was inked round the edges with a copic pen and the second one with blue iris chalk pad (which is shown here to emphasise the size of the twinchies).

As the stamp on the left hand one is called 'fancy bird' I decided to colour in fancy colours; the other stamp is 'night owl'.

Our Anniversary Card

I didn't do any crafting yesterday (we were up at Guy's for appointments for John) and this is the first I've done today. I've been deliberating for days on making a card for our anniversary next Monday. Why is it that 'special' cards for those near and dear are the hardest to make? And now that it's done I'm not really happy with it.

There were a few challenges this week that spurred me into action:

DCM: 'the sound of music'
Crafty Muse: 'May Day: love, flowers, romance'
A spoonful of sugar: challenge 52: 'celebration'
365 cards day 72: 'musical Monday'
Theme Thursday: 'dance and/or music'

I downloaded Mendelssohn's Wedding March from a free sheet music site and printed it on iridescent card - white with a hint of a lilac sheen to it - the rest is obvious - and not a piece of patterned paper in sight!

Petals - pink and green

The theme on Inspire Me Thursday this week is 'petals' and the current challenge on Created by hand is 'pink and green', so I've combined these, using one of my favourite stamps - it's very simple, but I love it - coloured with copics and mounted on Anna Griffin papers.

Come round for a cuppa

I bought a few 'tea time' stamps from Joanna Sheen a while back and this is the first time I've used any of them. They seemed just right for challenge 48 on Dutch Dare this week: 'blue, white and 1 other colour'. Stamping was done with Stazon ultramarine. On reflection, I think it might have been a better idea to have used a pigment ink and heat embossed - it would have given the china a bit of a glazed look - oh well, next time.

The gold surround is more even than it looks on this scan (I had to scan rather than photo because of flash glare on the pearlised card and gems).

Under the sea

A very simple card for Wednesday Stamper's 'under the sea' - the paper says it all, with the addition of a couple of die cuts and some stamped fish heat embossed with silver.

Dotty enough?

Challenge 7 this fortnight on Truly Scrumptious is to use this sketch, but also to 'go dotty' with spots, dots and circles:

I've made this card to the colour scheme on this week's Kwerner Design:

The background paper is DCWV pocket full of posies and various other bits and pieces (trying to use up some of the offcuts in my boxes - yes, boxes, not just one).

I hope that the use of the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder, the white pearl gems and the little piece of paper in the centre have enough dots/spots/circles to qualify for Truly Scrumptious.

It's Tilda again

For this card I'm using Maddy's sketch on this week's Copics Colour Challenge 13:

The background paper is BG ambrosia, the circles are Brenda Pinnick and the turquoise backing behind Tilda is DCVW pocket full of posies.

Inspirational Card Sketch 16

This card is for sketch 16 on Inspirational Card Sketches this week:

I purposely kept to the colour scheme lilac and lemon because I knew I'd seen a challenge somewhere this week for using those two colours - lol! when I found it (after I'd made the card) I realised the challenge was on Dare U 2 digi stamp and, of course, that required the use of a digi stamp - d'oh!!

However, as Tilda has blonde hair coloured with copics, this is good for challenge 4 on Copic Creations.

Nevermind, it's a nice colour scheme for this card. with a Tilda stamp coloured with copics:

What?

For day 60 on 365 cards the challenge was to say 'what!?' on a card, so mine says 'so what?'. The sentiment is a K & co one that I coloured with a green ink pad so it matched the BG sultry papers that I've used.

I could also have shown this for today's 'Monday's manufacturer' on 365, but I've just shown another BG card for that - so that's two BG cards in a row (well, I do love it).

Basic Grey Cake

Today on 365 cards is 'Monday's manufacturer' - choose our favourite - and I think mine has to be Basic Grey (although I have a lot of others I love too).

So this card has been made with components from Basic Grey cupcake range - the cake is chipboard and the sentiments are rub ons from the BG range.

As this incorporates a cake, it's also good for this week's Crazy Amigo challenge: 'cake'.

Digi art

This is the photo given for the photo challenge on Awfully Big Art Adventure for this month:

And this is the background given for challenge 26 on Art Creations Friday this week:

I decided to combine the two - played around with colours and filters and this is what I came up with:

BF NRC PP10 K for knitted

This is the last of the photo prompts, which, of course is K, which finishes off BUBBLYFUNK.

Ellie was allowed to come down from the top shelf to have her photo taken at a comfortable height - well, she is K for knitted!

Pop up Simpsons card

Kathy gave us the link to a You Tube demo of how to make a pop up card. I've been meaning to do one for a while now, especially as this was the challenge on 365 cards for day 47 (yes, I'm still playing catch-up).

I decided to use one of the Simpsons pictures that I've got (I made a couple earlier in the year for our great nephews birthdays), so this will do nicely too for challenge 61 on My Time to Craft: 'kids kards'.

It also uses the colours specified on today's challenge 16 on Colour Create: sky blue, tan and ecru, although I haven't used the option of glossy, unless you count the fact that the picture itself is glossy!

It's also another one for Cupcake Craft challenge 39: 'card for a man or boy', and also for Theme Thursday: masculine theme.

The papers on the base of the card are PM 'for him'.

Bon Voyage

It's also for day 76 on 365 cards: 'four corners', the idea being to embellish the corners.

I'm also linking for Keryn Campbell's colour challenge 19: pale plum, rose red, mellow moss and a neutral.

The background paper is Anna Griffin, the lilac strip is K & Co and the pictures are Crafty Individuals. The sentiment was produced on my dymo letratag and the bag charm is one I've had for ages that originally was on a bracelet.

As Rome and Paris are depicted on this card, it's OK for challenge 62 on Paperminutes this week: 'cities;.

Helping hand for a new home

The subject of March 3 challenge on JB is 'home sweet home' and Alphabet Challenge this week is 'H is for ...' so mine is 'home' .

Bravely (or foolishly, whichever way you look at it) the sentiment is handwritten, so qualifies the card for day 74 on 365 cards: 'DIY, handwritten sentiment'.

Background paper is Tutti Frutti. I've used a small piece of one of my 'shaving foam technique' patterns, shown earlier in the day, across the bottom of the card.
