Bubbly Funk CJ

In July, a CJ started on BF and now there is only one more to receive and work on before they are back home with their owners.

I enjoyed working on Ann's lovely 'Black and red' journal. I won't tell you what her requests were - don't want to spoil the surprise for the remaining person in the group.

Anyway, without any more ado, these are my pages:

Please don't forget my blog candy - there's less than a week now to be in with a chance to win.

Nikki's blog candy

Nikki is offering some fab candy - closing on 9 March. Her blog is well worth visiting.

Spam deleted

I think I've now deleted all the spam comments - over 50 of them - but if, by any chance, I've missed any and you come across any, I'd be grateful if you'd let me know. Thanks.

What a pain

Why do they do it?

During the night someone from the US has left spamming comments - over 50 of them - on some of my older posts.

I've now enabled comment moderation, which is a nuisance, but unavoidable.

When I can find them all, I'll delete the comments.

I have sitemeter installed, so I can trace the IP addresses used.

I've got enough pain in the back without this pain!!

Hands that hold precious feet

This is a very quick card - and I know I've shown similar before - but thought it fitted challenge 73 on TGIF 'hands' (sorry, I know it's an awful photo):

Please don't forget my blog candy - there's less than a week now to be in with a chance to win.

A late attempt

There will be a new challenge tomorrow on Friday Sketchers, so I'm scraping in with an easy card for challenge 40. This is the sketch:

My back is so painful this evening I just can't get any relief from it even with the strong painkillers, but in the end I felt I wanted to try and take my mind off it, so I made a simple card, using some Jolly Nation die cut decoupage and co-ordinating background papers, using the sketch. I chose a 'fish' one for this week's DCM challenge 'fish and/or frog'.

32 inchies!!!

Karen has organised another inchies swap on BF and this month the subject is 'orange'. I boldly said I would do two lots, so I've worked on 32 inchies this afternoon and evening. In fact, I'm sure I cut out some ready to work on and seem to have lost them, but it doesn't matter because I was quite pleased with what I achieved with these.

For the first batch, I used a favourite swirly stamp to stamp on orange card with versamark and embossed with clear detail:

Having cut up the inchies I edged them with glue and dipped in Art Institute ultra fine florida orange glitter. Later I added the primas, buttons and a single gemstone:

The second batch were cut from a piece of PM paper I had over from the card I made yesterday, adding some sticky ribbon, flowers, buttons and a single gem on each:

My new shelves

I thought I'd show my new shelves - they are above my worktop (can't show that part atm because it's too much of a muddle!).
I used to keep my wooden stamps in drawers in my big cupboard, so now those drawers will be able to house A4 card and papers and free up some of the boxes in the cupboard. The trouble is that once you start to re-organise something, the whole lot gets affected ... but I'll get there!
So now the rubber stamps are on the bottom shelves and the teddies on the top. I'm still not quite sure what I'm going to put in the middle - time will tell!

BF February ATC swap

I've just received my ATCs from the February swap on Bubbly Funk forum. They are all so lovely - it's interesting to see how the theme was interpreted so differently by each person, the theme being '5 brads':

Thank you, girls, and thank you, Ali, for once again hosting.

(Now I need to get my thinking cap on for March's swap).

Embossed diamonds revisited

Terribly poor scan (yes, I still need to clean the glass), but thought I'd just show my second thoughts with this card. I embossed the orange card as well as the acetate and ran an orange ink pad over the raised diamonds before sticking the embossed acetate on top of it.

The only thing now is that the sentiment doesn't match - will sort that out tomorrow:

I just had to make something

I didn't do any crafting yesterday and nothing till now today. To be honest, I'm not feeling like doing anything, but thought I'd have a go, although I'm not happy with what I've done.

I decided to make a card for Cuttlebug inspiration 19: embossed acetate. I chose the diamonds embossing folder, ran it through the xyron and stuck it to DCWV textured card - not very clear on the scan - you can see it slightly better if you click on the picture. I'll try in daylight tomorrow to get a photo that shows the embossing more clearly.

I followed the Tamara's card sketch 83:
It's good to see Ooh La La back again with challenge 29: stripes (which are on this card) - and the theme on Created by Hand this week is also 'stripes'.

The background patterned paper is a doubled sides PM silk screened (can't remember what it's called and I'd cut the strip off) - the stripey bit is the other side of the paper. The sentiment is computer generated.

Please also see my later attempt here.

No crafting today

Nothing to show today.

We've had a new washing machine installed and some shelves put into the room where I craft - need to now sort out what I'm putting on them and re-organise the rest of the room (it seems to be a job like painting the Forth bridge).

The man who was putting in the washing machine discovered that our main stopcock is dripping, so it urgently needs replacing - waiting to hear when. So, it's just as well we had to have a new washing machine or we wouldn't have found this out. Unfortunately, the stopcock is in a very awkward place in the corner of a kitchen cupboard, so to renew it the man is going to have to take the dishwasher out and cut through a part of a cupboard. At least he's going to re-locate it to a more accessible place for the future.

Perhaps I'll manage to get back to doing some crafting tomorrow, although I might just tackle sorting supplies and getting stuff on to my new shelves.

Bubblyfunk February ATCs

Today I've made 7 ATCs for the swap on BF - I confess that these should have been received tomorrow, so I apologise that I'm a bit late. The 'must have' was to use five brads.

The papers are DCWV Pocket full of posies. The strip on the left has been embossed with a Cuttlebug border and filed to reveal the white core of the card. The PM stamp was stamped with versamark and embossed with white detail. I added a strip of PM flower sticky ribbon and, of course, the compulsory brads - five various coloured dragonflies.

A sketch and colour combo

Challenge 39 on A Spoon Full of Sugar is a sketch by Debbie:

I've ued the colour combination on this week's challenge on Magnolia vs Stampavie for this card:

Edwin has been coloured in with copics and mounted on HOTP paper and K & Co Hannah, with a strip of PM sticky ribbon.

Postcard from Paris

This postcard is for two challenges.

First of all, the UKStampers Sunday challenge 27 for this week is 'postcard from Paris' and secondly, the challenge on Sunday Postcard Art is 'hearts', so I've combined the two.

I've randomly stamped hearts with archival grape ink and sponged in places to vary the tone. The pictures are from Crafty Individuals 'people and places'.

A stitch in time!

And it is only just in time for this week's challenge on Dottie's World.

The challenge was to use stitching (not stamped or faux, but real stitching) - I got out some silver thread and a needle and made a rather pathetic attempt at stitching across the edge of the blanket on this gorgeous baby download from the love and marriage collection.
The image was printed on to linen card and the surrounding area wasn't meant to be all blue - it started off with just inking the edges, but somehow it spread! (and I wasn't going to waste it!)

It looks much brighter irl.

A wheelie quick card!

This is a wheelie quick card for a couple of challenges. Sunday Stamper challenge 47 is 'Oh boy!', so this is OK for that.

Colour Create 3 is 'red, white and blue' with the option of 'travel or holiday', so this fits the travel option.

On CBC Carolyn's CBCC084 challenge is 'From A to B'.

I know that it's a very simple card, but the paper speaks for itself and it would just seem mad to cover too much of it. It's American Traditional Designs Guy's Life Earthtones Guy Talk.

The bike stamp is by PM and the sentiment printed with dymo letratag clear tape.

Make a moo or two: Marie Antoinette

While I was making a twinchie of Marie Antoinette, I remembered that last week's challenge on Make a moo or two was 'Marie Antoinette', so I did this digitally (I know it's late though).

And please don't forget my blog candy

Small World of Inchies & Twinchies: Marie Antoinette

Having replaced my 'the kiss' twinchie photo this morning, I went to the Small World of Inchies & Twinchies blog and saw today's topic: Marie Antoinette, so I made this:

A picture of MA cut out and mounted on a Crafty Individuals background, mounted on to a piece of K & Co Hannah.

Make a moo or two: playing cards

This is the first time I've made a moo for the challenge of Make a moo or two, which this time is 'playing cards'.

I found this image among my Crafty Individuals 'people and places' and cut it down, mounted on to a piece of K & Co Hannah, added the hearts and inked the edges with Versamagic pink grapefruit (loving that colour).

And please don't forget my blog candy

Small World of Inchies & Twinchies: the kiss

This is a twinchie for the challenge on Small World of Inchies and Twinchies: the kiss. (I've replaced the photo this morning with a bit better one taken in daylight.) The backing paper is K & Co Hannah and the little couple were cut from a Crafty Individuals Miniature 'people & places'.

Green and yellow Easter card

This card is based on the sketch this week on Our Creative Corner:

I've used a mixture of K & Co Hannah papers and the chicks paper from PDA. The Happy Easter stamp is PM stamped with archival library green. The theme this week for Dutch Dare 36 is 'green and yellow'; as this card has an Easter egg charm that is shiny, it also fits the Wednesday Stamper theme for this week 'shiny'.

Lastly, challenge CBCC088 on CBC is 'all in a row' where Joanne says she'd like to see a row of something - I hope my chicks count, because there are quite a few rows of them.

Sketch Saturday 38 + Cute Card Thursday 48

This card uses the lovely sketch on Sketch Saturday 38:

Once again, I've used some decoupaged tulips and just touched one or two with stickles icicles. All the papers are K & Co Hannah (while it was out after doing the CJ DLO) and the circles were cut on the cricut (so easy).

This card is also for challenge 48 'signs of spring' on Cute Card Thursday.

CBC CJ

Today's the day to post the next CBC CJ - this time my DLO has been in Crafty Barbie's lovely journal on Flowers. Barbara requested us to try and use co-ordinating colours - deep pink, green and blue. I've used K & Co Hannah papers for the background and for the flowers cut on my cricut. The flower quotes were computer generated and printed on to blue textured card, with the addition of some PM sticky ribbons and some flowers that I've loved using quite a few times, but sadly have now used the last of them.

I really enjoyed doing my part in Barbara's CJ.

Tiptoe through the tulips

'Tiptoe through the tulips' is the title of Tanda Teaser 86 set by Wendy, who says: 'Spring is just around the corner so this week we would like to see Tulips on your card or a card made in an appropriate colour palette.'

Papers are K & Co Tim Coffey tulip. I've randomly stamped tulips on the background with Versamark and embossed with white detail (unfortunately, gloss doesn't show up here). The centre piece is another decoupage.

The challenge on this week's Crazy Amigo blog is 'Color! Color! Color!' 'how colorful are you?' I've chosen to link this card because some say that pink and green should not be seen together, but I love the combination.

Salt: Sacrifice

On Salt this time it was Kim's turn to choose the topic - you can read what she said about Sacrifice here.

I usually do a LO for Salt (I keep all my contributions in a 12 x 12 album), but this time I decided to have a change and I've made an Easter card instead.

This is based on the passage from Philippians 2 which speaks of Christ's humility and sacrifice.

The background paper is BG Urban Couture Lustra and the crosses stamp is a See-D one - plus the addition of a decoupage lily (I seem to be doing quite a bit of decoupage nowadays - don't know why, because I don't usually do it).

We are delighted at Salt that we have had a good response to our call for folk to join our DT - the announcement will be made soon!

Another Simpsons Birthday card

This is our card for George - same background, this time on a blue base card. The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is a lot lighter irl - more coppery.

Another one to link for 'B is for blue and brown' on ABC.

And please don't forget my blog candy

Simpsons Birthday card

This is a card for mum to send to one of my niece's sons, who is mad keen on the Simpsons.

The predominant colours are blue and brown, so they fit the ABC challenge 'B is for blue and brown'. I used a brown linen background card, a piece of blue and cream striped K & Co La Boutique paper (I thought it matched the background on the Simpsons tag).

Apologies for the crooked scan (and the dirty mark to the right of the silver 11 - it's a mark on the scanner, not the card - I know, I should clean it!).

And please don't forget my blog candy

Music and dance

Cute Card Thursday challenge 47 is 'music and dance'.

I used a music stamp I bought last week from QVC (one of their foam ones - inexpensive and work well) and a Jolly Nation shrink plastic dancing couple mounted on a circle embossed with Swiss dots. The music has been stamped on to a piece of Anna Griffin mat pack cardstock - just a few faint pink flowers here and there.

Saturday's Workout 42 is 'work with shrink plastic', so I'm linking for that.

It's a while since I've done anything with shrink plastic. I coloured in with ordinary colouring pencils - the dress has come up darker than I intended (it's easy to overdo it because the colours intensify with the heat).

Chocolate brown and pink card

For this card I followed the sketch on Friday Sketchers 39:

Challenge 49 on My Time to Craft is 'brown and pink' - I just love this colour combo.

On Stamp Something this week the topic is 'chocolate', so I've used some chocolate brown papers, ribbons and flowers.

And on Dutch Dare this week for challenge 35 they say 'we would like to see buttons and bows', so they are included on this card.

I've used HOTP papers, flowers, buttons, sentiment and ribbon from stash; the stamped image is one that I received this week in a swap from Bex on JB - it was already stamped with brown and I have very lightly chalked with pink. The ovals were torn round acrylic templates.

And please don't forget my blog candy

Since taking the photo, I've adjusted the primas a little on the lady's hat as I was aware that you couldn't see her eye!

A mixture of challenges

For this card I've used Sharon's sketch on One Stop Craft challenge 16:

I've also combined last week's and this week's challenges on Art Creations Friday. This background was the inspiration for this week:

and this picture for last week (I changed the colour):

I have also used lace on my card, which is the subject on Inspire me Thursday this week.
I turned the sketch on its side.

Games pieces!

I've made two very simple cards for the 'game pieces' challenge on Theme Thursday. I wanted to find a chess quote to put on the cards, but couldn't find anything appropriate, so they are just simple Happy Birthday cards.

And please don't forget my blog candy

Cupcake card

This card has been made with BG Cupcake papers, rub on and chipboard cupcake. It is for the Charisma Cardz challenge 7: cupcakes:

And please don't forget my blog candy

House shaped card

The theme on Cuttlebug this week for challenge 18 is 'shape cards', so I've chosen this house shape and used two different embossing folders:

I chalked with Pebbles chalks. I've just spotted some stray chalk on the inside here, so will rub that out. I stuck acetate behind the front of the house and added sticky ribbon curtains.

I'm also linking as another card for this week's Awfully Big Art Adventure: doors.
