Christmas dreams really do come true

Having chosen the theme for this week's Sunday's with Santa facebook group - food - I discovered that I'd got little left to use for this theme that I hadn't used before. And then I remembered some DCWV paper. The shiny and glittered gingerbread people seemed OK for the theme, but the phrase running across the bottom was just a bit too wide for my widest square card blank, so I had to use an A5 card landscape and cut it down - it worked, so that was good. All I've done in addition is to stick a piece of organza decorated wired ribbon across the top - this has a lovely sheen that is semi-transparent and is also very glittered - I've had this ribbon for ages.

Carols round the tree

Today's challenge for week 45 on Christmas card challenges is this inspiration photo:

I've concentrated on the Christmas tree, using a very simple recycled picture:

The morning stars sang together

It's time for another Christmas card for the Christmas card gang (two weeks go by very quickly) and it was Claire's turn to choose the theme - silver & blue with embossing (heat or dry).

The background pale blue and white matted on to silver is a piece of card taken from a card received a couple of years ago (too good to throw out). I stamped the lovely Inkadinkado tin can mail stamp with versamark and heat embossed with detail silver. I used a matching piece of blue card to emboss with a creative expressions folder run through my cuttlebug, inking up the front side of the folder with brilliance starlite silver before embossing. I then threw detail clear powder on to this and heated - this has given it a distressed look. I used an offcut piece of silver foil embossed paper, a sparkly silver ribbon, three habico rhinstones and a sentiment to finish the card.

The card was based on the sketch for Christmas challenges with sketches 10 - please click the link to see the sketch (I took so long blogging that I missed the linky, but have left a comment to acknowledge that I used the sketch).
