WOYWW 135

With Christmas and not being well, I haven't taken part in WOYWW for a while, so thought it was about time I did. However, this morning my workspace was clear, so nothing really to show, having showed all my cards yesterday and before. This afternoon I've been having a bit of a sort out - I always seem to be doing this, so I'm not sure why I still find things that I think should have hit the bin a long while ago!

I took boxes out of part of my big cupboard so that I could get to the envelopes for the long slim cards that I made yesterday - you can read about it here. In that blogpost I referred to a load of envies that I bought years ago to house small tall thin cards (A5 folded in half lengthwise). Now, when I said 'loads' you might well have thought I meant about a hundred, but, no, there are lots more.

The picture shows 20 envies at the front (the number I need for the cards I made and showed yesterday) and on the shelf behind you can see the two boxes of envies that reveal just how many I've actually got. I really don't think I will ever make that many of this kind of card. Why did I buy them?! (and I confess that once upon a time there were actually more, but I sold some on eBay - perhaps I ought to do that again).

So I thought I would share this confession with WOYWWers:

Anyone want any envelopes?!

By the way, if you don't know what WOYWW is then follow the link to Julia's Stamping Ground and join in.

Simply something old, something new

For Christmas was given some Clarity stamps DVDs by Barbara Gray and a whole bundle of goodies to go with them. One of the stamps I received is 'cornflower' which I've used on this card, simply stamped with memento. The other stamp I've used is one that I've had for ages - a lovely Laura Ashley stamp from a set by Dovecraft. So I've used something new and something old. I lightly brayered the background using Big & juicy foliage and printed the scripture verse, having prepared it in Word using my favourite Lucida Calligraphy font.

I was prompted to make this card by Word art Wednesday 9, where these scripture verses were given for the challenge.

Suzie's 365 4: pretty

After yesterday's 'ugly', today Suzie is asking to see 'pretty'. I bought these flowers with my Ocado grocery delivery before Christmas and they are doing really well - they brighten up a rather dull January day - so here is my 4: pretty:
