Roll up, roll up ... very late ...

Almost two weeks ago Sue W's challenge for the Christmas Card Club was 'Roll up, roll up, snowballs and glitter'. On this occasion, because of other commitments, I just wasn't able to make a card at the right time, so here is my very late effort, although I'm not happy with it.

I chose a stardream sparkly, glittery card blank in a rich deep blue, stampin the top with an Indigo Blu stamp from the 'Here comes Santa' collection - bought this set a while ago and this is the first time any of it has seen ink. I inked with versamark and heat embossed with silver super sparkle powder. I did the same with the Stampavie Rachel Anne Miller snowman stamp and a selection of Wild Rose Studio snowflakes stamps. The sentiment stamp is from a Forever Friends collection. I thought the snowman should at least have some white so I used a Sakura pen, but am not happy with the grainy result, but, hey ho, 'tis done now.

The silver embossed areas are a lot more glittery in real life.

CHNC challenge 117: 3 of something

For my CHNC challenge 117 I'm asking to see '3 of something' on your Christmas cards - 3 of anything. I thought I'd make a start with probably the most well know 'three' of the Christmas story: the three wise men - although actually scripture doesn't say how many wise men there were - we assume there were three because there were three gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

I've used the '3 wise men' image kindly supplied by Floppy Latte Designs, one of the three sponsors for this week's challenge.

The card is based on Catherine's sketch for Sunday sketch & stamp 148:

The top two papers are Teresa Collins Christmas Home and the middle one is an offcut from a Gorjuss kit bought long ago. The strip down the side was taken from the cover of the Christmas Home pad (don't waste  anything - lol!).

As usual, the white doesn't look consistently white (perhaps I'll get a better photo in the morning):
