Give us a clue

I bought this Penny Black stamp a while ago, but this is the first time I've used it - think it will be one of those that really comes in handy.

This is for a male recipient, so nothing flowery - thought black and white with a touch of red would be good with the crossword image. This is for Penny Black's Saturday challenge 155: one for the guys.

I've used the sketch for Sweet Sunday 121:

The papers are very old ones - think they are DCWV and/or Dovecraft.

A 'get well' cuppa

As I'm going to be going away soon, I'm trying to get up to date with crafting commissions and swaps I'm taking part in. This afternoon I've been working on my Christmas cards for my CHNC challenges for the next two or three weeks and preparing the blog posts so I can schedule them.

However, I need a bit of a break from Christmas, so here are two quick CAS cards with a 'get well' theme, using papers from Anna Griffin. These are for 'Get well soon with 4 crafty chicks'.

The colours for this second card are for SPCC 104:

Here comes Santa

Today has turned out differently to how I thought it would. I started off the day going over to a friend's to sort out her computer - a successful time, so that was good.

John was meant to be going off to a bowls match today, so I had planned to have a crafting day with no interruptions - ha ha - the bowls match was rained off ... meanwhile the driver who was going to take him by car to Rochester for the match had already turned up here, so he came in for a cuppa and a chat ...

So I haven't got on with any of the things I'd planned and here I am making a Christmas card instead!

It's no secret that I love making Christmas cards (that's why I started my Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge blog - if you haven't visited yet, I'd love to see you there), so, when I saw that this week's DCM challenge was 'Father Christmas' how could I resist (even if I have left it till the last day!).

The background snowmen paper is BG jovial, the swirly red foiled card is from a QVC kit from a couple of years ago and the stamped image is Hero Arts jolly Santa, coloured with copics.

I've used the sketch for Inkspirations 73:
