Variation on a theme
Having made the previous card:
I looked into the bin and found another piece that I'd discarded from yesterday. As with the previous one, this is the back of an unsuccessful gelli plate print - the side that had been brayered with the spare paint that had accumulated from spreading paint on the gelli plate.
I've shown the previous card again because I'm entering the two cards into City crafter 159: one stamp two ways - two projects using the same stamp image.
I stamped around the edge, once more using parts of a lovely little stamp that has been with me for years on my crafting journey and the Penny Black 'sparklers' in the middle, all inked with Elzybells sugar candy ink.
I've added some ribbon that I didn't even realise I'd got, three brads and a Creata textured rub on sentiment.

Waste not, want not ...
When I was playing with acrylic paints and my gelli plate yesterday, I did what I've seen Barbara Gray do on Create and Craft - having used a brayer to spread the paint on the gelli plate, Barbara uses it to roll over the paper that's put over the gelli to get the print. Before making the card that I showed here yesterday, I tried one or two others that I just wasn't happen with and just put aside.
A little while ago I was just about to put these into the paper bin when I looked at the side that had been rolled with the brayer and thought 'I'm not going to waste that - it will make a background'.
I then used the earliest stamp I ever bought - and I still love this because it's so handy and versatile - a little unknown one with a spray of tiny flowers. I stamped this randomly inked up with memento grape jelly and then inked up one of my favourite Penny Black stamps, 'sparklers'. I thought it looked a bit dull, so I got out my Elzybells sugar candy white inkpad and once again randomly stamped the small stamp, sometimes stamped twice to get a faded version. I then inked up the heads of the sparklers on the PB stamp and stamped vaguely over the first one, then stamping very lightly again inked with the memento grape jelly.
All I then needed to add were a couple of Creata textured rub ons.
As I used the same colours as yesterday's card, this is another one for Moving along with the times: colour:

Sweet Christmas
This is a second card for today's CHNC challenge 125: festive food and drink, this time using some Christmas Cupcake digis kindly given by one of the other sponsors, Crafts 4 eternity. I couldn't decide which cupcake to use, so I decided to crop them digital and then put one behind the other, using the Santa, Snowman and Reindeer cupcakes, coloured with spectrum noir and mounted on to a snippet of mirror card, as was the sentiment.
The background paper is from the K & Co Christmas Santa paper pad and the candy cane strips were taken from the same paper, as it's double sides. The circular sweet was cut from one of the other papers from the pad.
Once again, this is also for Festive Friday 8: trigger challenge where this was given:

CHNC challenge 125: festive food and drink
Today's CHNC challenge 125 is all about festive food and drink.
For my first card I've used the lovely 'cakes and candy' digi kindly supplied by Inky Impressions, one of the sponsors. I coloured this with spectrum noir pens and mounted on to an offcut of mirror card, doing the same with the sentiment that was generated with my dymo letratag label maker. The background paper is from the K & Co Berry Sweet paper pad on to which I added a piece of fancy Papermania ribbon.
