Winter cardinal

It was Mary's turn to choose the theme for this fortnight's CCC challenge and she asked us to include a cardinal or another winter bird.

For my card I've used Sparkle n sprinkle 'winter cardinal' colouring with spectrum noir pens.

I followed the sketch for Atlantic hearts 69:
I used a piece of My Mind's Eye 'snowed in' winter papers for the background and for the punched out snowflakes, overlaying a piece of Papermania 'at Christmas time' vellum - I was able to glue this underneath the image, the sentiment and the snowflakes to secure the vellum into place.

Simply less is more

It's a long time since I played along with a challenge at Less is more, but the sketch for today's challenge 186

was just right to showcase a stamped chipboard square that I'd made this afternoon. I found up a piece of chipboard that I had previously coloured with Caran d'arche neocolor pastels that I had swiped and blended with a baby wipe to produce an ombre effect for Keep it simple 47: ombre.

I stamped the piece of chipboard with a favourite Magenta stamp that I haven't used for ages - inked with Stazon black.

Thinking of you

This card was prompted by Jane Taylor's card that we asked to CASE for AAA cards 16:

I've used a kraft base card, mounting an offcut piece of kraft card with owls outlined in gold foil, matted on to a piece of gold mirror. The motif in the middle is one from Poundland and a Craftime sentiment.

Kraft time

The background paper of this card is a piece taken from the lovely Bazzill Basdics 'timeless pack, mounted on to kraft. I found an ATC that I made long ago - I took part in a swap and made a few of them and this was an extra that I kept for myself - it was originally made using an Indigo Blu 'take the time' stamp. I can't believe how well it goes with the paper - it's as if it was made for it!The brown paper stickers were from Poundland (a lovely range that they are doing atm).

CHNC challenge 191: merry and bright

It's time for a new challenge over on my Craftyhazelnut's Christmas challenge blog  and the theme for CHNC challenge 191 is 'merry and bright' - interpret in any way you wish, as long as the creation is for Christmas. I'd love to see you there.

For my card I've used My Mind's Eye 12 days of Christmas papers, using up some snippet pieces for those across the bottom and down the side. The glittered 3D stickers were from Poundland (last year or the year before ... time goes so quickly).I've used a sentiment circle that I found in the bottom of a Christmas box and a recycled sparkly bow - can't remember where I rescued it from.

Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 43

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 43: anything goes - please look and see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and we would love to see your entries.

For my card I used Lacy Sunshine's winter abbey (kindly supplied by the sponsor), coloured with spectrum noir and die cut using Xcut rectangle parenthesis, cutting some mirror card with one of the larger dies. The background paper is a digital one printed and mounted on to a black card blank - I found this here (a wonderful site with lots of lovely papers to download - I've bookmarked it).

The flowers were from Hobbycraft.

Completely Christmas 26: anything goes

This is my design card for Completely Christmas 26 using Bugaboo Stamps 'stocking line' (Bugaboo are sponsoring the challenge) - please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of the team and join in with the Christmas fun.

The background of my card is some paper free with a magazine. I mounted the image (which had been digitally coloured in Microsoft Paint) on to an offcut piece of card and added the Craftwork cards sentiment circle and the fabric felt buttons from Poundland (I do love those - I'm glad I bought two packs because I doubt they will have them again).
