Suzie's 365 3: ugly

3: ugly - this is what it looked like in our bathroom when the bath was taken out before the room was prepared for the new shower unit. There seemed to be pipes everywhere - obviously had been hidden by the bath, but some of them needed to be re-routed to accommodate the new set up and then a false wall was made to hide the rest of them. I'm pleased to say that I only saw these ugly views for a couple of days and now they don't exist:

2: new - one of the new goodies I received for Christmas:

I actually got more of Barbara's DVDs, stamps etc. I haven't watched any of this particular one yet.

Suzie's 365 1: celebrate

Suzie's 365 is already up to No 3 (obviously, because it's already 3 January) - I thought I'd join in before it gets too late.

So here is my photo for 1: celebrate - mum's 90th birthday:

Just joy .. ten times over

I've made some more long cards to use up some of the envies I bought years ago - A5 card folded in half lengthwise.

The digital image 'joy garland' is from Meljen Designs - it was one that I chose as part of my prize for winning Meljen's challenge 89. I also received 'caroling snowmen' and 'Christmas cocoa', which, no doubt, you'll be seeing soon. I've been fortunate enough to win quite a few challenges recently, so I'll be sharing some more prizes over the next couple of days.

I opened the digital image in Paint and filled in the stars and letters digitally - it took longer than anticipated because some of it had to be done pixel by pixel, but it was worth it because I was then able to print ten copies and mount on to card blanks.

Shopping our stash 33 is 'rewind (choose any of their challenges previously posted) or use a Meljen's image as they are sponsoring the challenge, so these are just right for that.

Even more Websters pages

I do so love the Websters pages (I think regular visitors will know that by now - lol!). These cards were made by running vellum papers hrough my xryon and sticking on to other Websters papers. The circular toppers were left over from a QVC kit bought two or three years ago (time they were used up).

Time for school with some sticky notes

You can't actually see that this is a sticky notes holder, but it is - just an offcut piece of rainbow card scored on my Hougie board wrapped around a block of sticky notes., just with the addition of various stickers.

This was prompted by Creative craft world December CASE challenge in which we were asked to choose one of the DT creations and CASE it in some way. I chose Sue's creation, taking the theme of 'time for school':

Winter snow scene

This is another set of five cards using A5 folded lengthways. The stamp is part of a Papermania 'at Christmas time' set coloured with promarkers.

The stamp is a long one and I hadn't got an appropriate acrylic block to hand (too lazy to get into the cupboard and find one), so I used the lid of a perspex box to house it to ink it up with memento tuxedo black.

Snowflakes

Years ago when I first started cardmaking, I bought a load (and I mean a load!) of narrow envelopes suitable to house cards made by folding a piece of A5 card lengthwise. I decided that I should try and use some of the envelopes, hence these cards. They are simply stamped with an Inkadinkado snowflakes stamp, using the same stamp twice, just turning it the other way the second time - I'm pleased with the way these turned out - they are all first attempts - would have been easier with a clear stamp to see exactly where I was placing it the second time. The stamp was inked with versamark and heat embossed with detail silver. Just the addition of the greetings (half of a Papermania Season's Greetings stamp) and the cards were done.

I think I'll make more of these - perhaps using a dark background of black of navy blue.

When I had my sales for Tearfund in the autumn, I lacked the usual number of packs of cards that I make, somehow I just didn't do so many, so this year I'm going to try and get ahead by making some packs of 5 as well as making the individual square cards.
