Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 5: anything goes

It's time for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 5: anything goes - where did the past week disappear to?! This is being sponsored by Eureka Stamps and I have used their 'heart tree' image that they kindly supplied, colouring the hearts with a spectrum noir pen. Please click on the challenge link to see what the rest of the team have created - and I hope you will be able to join in - it's an easy one this week, with 'anything goes'.

I decided to keep to a black and white theme with a touch of red. Papers are My Mind's Eye Dilly Dally with a strip of Tim Holtz tissue tape and a piece of Hobbycraft ribbon. The sentiment is Craftime.

CHNC challenge 153: light it up

It's almost December, so, if you haven't made those Christmas cards yet, it really is time to get serious ... and perhaps my CHNC challenge 153 will help you - please click on the link and join in ... and, as usual, there are some great prizes to be won.

For my card I used the lamppost digital image supplied by one of the sponsors, Cedar Chest Designs, stamping alongside with 'caroling penguins' by Penny Black, colouring with copics. This was then mounted on to a piece of red mirror card with just the addition of a Craftwork cards sentiment, all matted on a gold card blank.

Colours inspired by The shabby tea room 194: Christmas is coming:

Haiku poem

The challenge for Collage obsession today is to create a Haiku poem and combine with an illustration. The poem needs to have 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second and 5 in the third.

So I went into the garden and took a photo and created the Haiku potem:

Autumn is here now
The leaves are gold and orange
Falling from the trees

The Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge 74: let's decorate

This is my design card for the Cheerful stamp pad challenge 74: let's decorate. This challenge is being sponsored by Floppy latte and I have used one of their digital images, 'Christmas prayer silhouette', coloured with copics. I decorated my card with 16 different pieces of ribbon stuck diagonally to a piece of card, mounting on to a piece of red mirror card and then on to gold. The image was matted on to red mirror card. Some glittered flowers with prima gold spacers were then added.

This was based on the sketch given for Unscripted 232, which I turned to the right:

Because of the reflection of the flash on the mirror card it was difficult to get a good photo - this is the best I could achieve - the card looks so much better in real life.

As this is a Christmas card, this verse from Floppy latte is on the insert:

Christmas card for a child

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 4: buttons. The challenge is being sponsored by Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and more and I have used one of their images called 'Carl the snowman'. I coloured this with promarkers and flexmarkers and cut out with a scalloped circle nestie die.  The background card and the striped and spotty strip down are from an old Kanban kit, the sentiment circle is Craftwork cards and the piece of checked paper was from a magazine freebie. I've added three odd buttons to the snowman.

I based the card on the Sweet Sunday sketch 197:

And  this is the first card that I'm showing for my own CHNC challenge 152: for a child - I do hope you will be able to join me in that challenge.

Pink Christmas

It's time for a challenge for the Christmas Card Club and Carol has chosen the theme: 'pretty in pink'. I've used some papers and silver mirror card that were in my Christmas offcuts box along with a Kanban topper from a kit bought long ago. I can remember a time when I used fibres, but haven't done so for ages, but I dug out this pink sparkly eyelash one that was just right for the sketch I wanted to use (I thought of using twine, but I didn't have any pink).

I based the card on the sketch given for Deconstructed 127:

The photo had to be taken with flash - I either had to settle for this or have one that reflected on all the silver and some of it then looked gold instead - will perhaps get a better photo in daylight. The sentiment oval looks very dull here, but is bright in real life.

Baubles

Before my recent sale I made quite a few packs of 5 cards to sell for charity, using some Lili of the Valley art pad coloured images.

This set of cards was made with pictures from set 14: festive floliage. I had some dark green 7 x 5 card blanks that had gone a bit faded around the edges - I didn't want to waste them so I cut them done to A6 size. It's hard to see here, but the pictures are matted on to silver mirror card offcuts.

My card is made with various pieces of card and toppers etc from Kanban kits collected over the years with some festive flowers.

Suzy Bee's Blooming challenge 3: shaped card

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's Blooming challenge 3: shaped card, which is sponsored by Eureka Stamps, who kindly supplied the lovely 'snow scene circles' that I've used. Other supplies are from a kit I bought from Create & Craft, as well as three glittered strips from Poundland used as a 'stopper', and a few black gems added. The image and the surrounding black card were cut with scallloped nestie dies. The black card was a scrap that had been rescued from a piece of card that had been the backing for a craft pack of embellishments - waste not, want not!
