Colour me autumn

This is my design card for Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge 104: anything goes with a twist ... colour me autumn. Please click on the link to see the lovely autumnal designs of the rest of the team and we hope you will join in the challenge.

I used Di's Digi Downloads Henry's windfall image with offcuts of papers, including the piece of card with leaves which is upcycled from a Graze box. The material leaves were white originally - I coloured with alcohol pens.

Christmas dinner

This is my design card for the Glory of Christmas challenge 68: Christmas dinner - please click on the link to see the yummy designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.

I don't really like Christmas pudding (only if I put so much brandy butter on it that I can't taste the pudding so much - lol!), but I decided to base my card on the traditional pudding for Christmas day, using a lovely Dotty image from a Charmed cards and crafts Christmas set - I love this image, but haven't actually used it for ages. Dotty was cut out and mounted on to an old Kanban frame and then on to an offcut of Christmas paper (no idea where it's from) with a snippet of ribbon down the side (Milo managed to get hold of a snippet of the ribbon and has been triumphantly running around with it in his mouth!).

Crafting Musketeers challenge 29

This is my design card for team B for Crafting Musketeers challenge 29: autumnal colours - please click on the link to see the designs of the rest of the team and join in the challenge here where you can see the designs created by team A. The challenge is being sponsored by Oak House Studio.

I used spectrum noir aqua tints to create the background randomly painted and then sprayed with water (technique that Sheena Douglass quite often shares on C & C), adding some spots of glossy accents here and there when the background was dry. The barrel of apples with the spotlighted area coloured with spectrum noir alcohol pens is one that I'd used on a card long ago (didn't like it on that card, so I lifted it for this one), with some glossy accents on the apples. The image is 'basket of apples' by Sparkle n Sprinkle. The felt leaves were from Lidl.

A touch of festive greenery

This is my card for my CHNC challenge 246 which is all about festive trees or greenery. As you can see from my CAS card, you don't have to show a lot of greenery if you don't want to ... as much or as little as you wish. I used Christmas ornaments 2 by CraftyGirl kindly given by StitchyBear's DIgi Outlet, one of the sponsors this week, colouring with a variety of spectrum noir reds/pinks and adding three green flowers with brad centres and a felt piece of holly on top of the rare outing of a Christmas peel off. I thought a DL card would make a change.

Just realised that the dark green flowers look almost deep blue on the photo.

Let's Craft and Create challenge 105

This is my design card for Let's craft and create 105: use dies or punches . Please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.

This is an 8" x 8" card using three punched layers, two of which use K & Company papers left over from a card made previously. I used three different We R Memory Keepers mini 8 punches - don't know why they call them 'mini' because they are actually quite big and can be used on varying sizes of paper up to 12" x 12" - here I used pieces 8", 7" and 6" square. The centre piece was cut from my wedding veil. I kept the veil for over 20 years, but it had been folded up and wasn't in good condition, so I decided to get rid of it, but keep the pieces from the edge. Flowers from Hobbycraft, pearls from Poundland. I think this could be used for any special occasion, perhaps ruby wedding anniversary. It's given me the idea that I could use another piece from the veil to make a card for our silver wedding next year (if we get there).

The lovely background paper is Webster's Pages with a torn strip offcut of their paper across the middle. With background like this there isn't any need for lots added, so just a few glittery stickers and a sentiment circle.

Remembering summer

'Remembering summer' is the theme of the Cheerful stamp pad challenge 119, for which I made this card for the second week - please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team. Sadly, Vicki is taking a break from hosting these challenges - I will certainly miss designing with Vicki and the rest of her wonderful team and wish everyone well in their ongoing crafting. I looked back to see when I first joined the team at the Cheerful stamp pad was amazed that it was back in August 2013, just over two years ago.

This is a similar card to the one I made for week 1 of this challenge, once again using the lovely Miss Lily on the beach image kindly supplied by the challenge sponsor, Little Blue Button, coloured with chameleon pens. Papers and card used to create the background were  from various bits and pieces that have built up over the years, tearing to give the idea of the sea and beach with a torn piece of DCWV summer paper text across the middle and a piece of DCWV flip flops grosgrain ribbon with a few other bits and pieces. I made the bucket and spade look shiny by covering with glossy accents, although that doesn't show here.

80th birthday card

This is my design card for A bit more time to craft September challenge 3 - always anything goes. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge - lovely prizes to be won. Big apologies to Lozzy and the team for my lateness - the card was done and as a draft on my blog some days ago, but I forgot to add to for the challenge blog - big apology.

A friend commissioned me to make an 80th birthday card with the request of pink/lilac colours and flowers. The shimmery background paper and the decoupage flowers are from a set bought some years ago. The computer generated greeting was matted on to a snippet piece of Hot off the Press paper, another offcut being used for the panel beneath the number and flowers.

Another card for CCAYR September

This is another design card for CCAYR September: a country Christmas.  Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge. This time I used some Holly Hobby background paper from a magazine freebie - the corner was a bit tatty, so I decided to cut a couple of corners. I used a torn piece of scrap My Mind's Eye glitter Christmas paper and a shiny gold piece of card (just looks beige here) as a background to the little gingerbread person, adding some poinsettias from Poundland.
