CBC ATCs received: transport/travel

These are the lovely ATCs I received in the post today from the swap on CBC.

It's amini adventure 2/2 from Okey-dokey (Jackie) and 2/3 from Ellen:

Think Pink online auction

I hope that by now you've clicked on the Think Pink button on the right to see what this is all about. Not all of us can get along to the sale, but we can still take part in the fundraising by going to the online auction and putting a bid in for our favourite item(s).

You then need to click on Pink Think Auction items (you'll find the button on the right of the webpage) to see all the fab items!

I've got my eye on a few items. Happy bidding!

Tilda cards

I received some tilda stamped images in a swap and coloured them in when I was on holiday. How I wish I could get the knack of colouring in well - they say that practice makes perfect, but I've yet to see it happen in reality.

Anyway, I couldn't get to sleep last night/this morning, so eventually got up about 2.30 and made two cards:

I don't believe it! updated!!!

I've just noticed that on the card shown here I mounted the cuttlebug embossing on the wrong side, so it's the 'debossed' instead of 'embossed'. Ah well, it will have to stay like it now.

I put this message because I looked at the picture more closely and it looked like the 'debossed' side of the piece of card, but now that I've just looked at the card irl, it is correctly embossed - it's strange that it looks the other way round on the scan!

Lili of the valley Thursday challenge 1: welcome

This is a quick card for challenge 1, with the theme of welcome. This was part of a Brenda Pinnick kit I got some time ago - very simple to put together, but love the colours:

Lili of the valley Thursday challenge 2: Nikki's sketch

I came across the new Lili of the valley Thursday challenge blog (recognise some of the names and particularly Nikki from other forums and challenges). I missed challenge 1 - I might still do this - but thought I'd join in challenge 2, which is a sketch by Nikki:

I've used BG sugared for the background, a piece of cuttlebug embossing and a stamped image that I got in a swap on CBC and coloured in with inktense pencils, a bit of sticky ribbon and a bit of Brenda Pinnick chippie and the sentiment, which isn't very clear on the scan: 'Thought this might brighten your day'.

Apart from brightening the day of the recipient, I needed something to brighten my day. It's been wet and windy here, so we didn't go out to church this morning. We thought it might be better this afternoon so that we could go to the 5 pm service, but it's still horrible out there, so we're staying put, so it doesn't seem like a Sunday.

BG challenge blog 5: scalloping

Scallops seem to be everything atm. The challenge this week on the BG challenge blog is to make a card that includes scalloping.

This is similar to the one I made earlier for this week's DCM dare. This time I've used BG figgy pudding papers, a Dovecraft ribbon along the bottom that says 'let it snow' (but doesn't show up in the scan, because it's glittery). The main embellishment is from the DCWV new winter collection and the little 'joy' chippie is Brenda Pinnick. Once again there's also a sprinkling of Poundland bling.

Some of the scalloping doesn't show up that well on the scan because the layered papers are similar, so they blend in together, but irl it's more obvious. The card opens from the bottom, not the side.

I'm liking using turquoise and burgundy together atm:

Tanda teaser 66: just for you - another one!

Another of those lovely image foam stamps from QVC - background paper is BG sugared.

World cardmaking day

I meant to say this earlier - today is world cardmaking day - you can find out about it here

So, have you made any cards today?

DCM: what a load of scallops!

Keryn set this week's DCM challenge: 'Use your imagination, your scallop punches, your corner rounders, your cricuts and cuttlebugs to create any card to fit any style as long as it shows scallops.'

I've used papers and embellishments from the new DCWV winter papers and the piece of ribbon across the bottom is one that's been lurking in my Christmas stuff (think it's Brenda Pinnick). The scalloped edging was done on my rotatrim, and a bit of Poundland bling:

It opens from the bottom, not the side, so it stands on its scallops.

Tanda teaser 66: just for you

I haven't done anything for Tanda teaser for quite some time, so thought I'd join in this week.

Wendy said: 'The theme this week is 'Just For You'. We don't need occasions to make cards so let's make a card for someone - just for being who they are!'

I used a stamped image that I acquired a long time ago - it was a 'round robin' thing in which a stamp was passed around and you had to make something with it - and I did loads of images and still have one or two left!

What a PIF!!

There's a PIF going on on CBC - and this is what I've received this morning from Maddy.

Yay!! What a super box of goodies - papers, vellums, chipboard, ribbons, stamps ... and much more, as you can see.

Thank you so much, Maddy.

Now I need to get a package together to send to Net to PIF.

JB September challenge 4: how does your garden grow?

On JB Nicky challenge us: 'A little mid-week challenge for you, and this time I'd like you to use something that grows in the garden on your project - but NOT flowers!

Think trees, leaves, grass.........

Cards, LO's, tags, altered items - anything goes, as long as it's got something growing in the garden other than flowers.'

A simple card, with not a flower in sight!

CBC challenge 064: blast from the past

Carolyn set this crew challenge on CBC: 'For today's challenge I want you to be influenced by the past to construct your project.... Blast from the Past - Your project can be anything from card making to scrapbooking, from Beading to bookmaking - and you can use clip art, stamps, die cuts whatever you fancy.'

It's another Christmas card that I think qualifies, because it features a Victorian pillar box and far more snow that we get nowadays.

CBC challenge 065 fairy folk

A simple raised layered picture for this card for the challenge on CBC:

BG challenge blog 3: distressing

This is a card for the third challenge on the BG challenge blog.

The background paper is from the figgy pudding range and has been distressed by spraying cranberry and stream color washes on to cut-n-dry and dabbing and sanding. The circle and snowflake (glittery irl) are Brenda Pinnick, the greeting is an Anna Griffin stamp inked with Brilliance pearlescent crimson and the ribbons are Dovecraft - they don't show at all well because of the sheen on them.

BG challenge blog 4: Susie's sketch

This week's challenge on the BG challenge blog was based on a sketch by Susie:

All papers are BG figgy pudding, the ribbons are Dovecraft, the snowman is a die cut from the old QVC pink peril range! and the bling is Poundland:

I've still got challenge 3 to do - will try to get that up later.

Another batch of Christmas cards

I've made 20 of this card - simple background paper and an image taken from a newly acquired 'the magic of Christmas' CD (first time I've bought a CD like this):

Why do some photos make things look crooked that aren't irl? One of life's mysteries - and they say that the camera never lies!

We three kings

I bought this gold foiled background the other day and thought it would go nicely on some of the dark green cards I have. I stamped the 3 kings and heat embossed with gold detail. I'm tempted to put a greeting at the top left, but I'm not sure that it needs it. There will be an insert inside with 'Season's Greetings'. I've made 20 of these, so that they can be put into packs of 5:

Replaced the photo with a slightly better one.

Decorated post-it note holders

For my sale last Saturday I made some decorated post-it note holders. When a friend saw them, she asked if I could make some for her grandsons - one is mad keen on penguins and the other on Indiana Jones lego. I hope these will fit the bill:

CBC new CJ

A new CJ group is starting today on CBC. There are seven of us in the group. I love doing CJs.

For mine I've chosen the theme 'where I grew up':

My DLO:

The back has just been left plain.

All the papers used are K & Co. The photos have been done in a rush (and with poor light because it was raining - and now, would you believe, the sun is out and the light is much better, but I need to get lunch and go out to get the CJ into the post).
