Simply sympathy

A simple sympathy card made a couple of days ago, using a ready patterned card blank, a square of card from my offcuts box, a die cut bible using a scrap of gold mirror card (an old Sizzix green die that I've had for years) with the addition of the lily. The sentiment is another Creata textured rub on.

My notes

I made quite a few little altered notebooks for my recent Tearfund sale and this is one of them. They all sold - wish I'd made more, which reminds me that I need to make some more before Friday.

The background is an offcut - another for Pixie's crafty snippets 43 - and the stickers are some that I've had for ages (not sure where they came from originally). 'My notes' was generated on my dymo letratag.

Hark the herald angels sing

This card is based on the sketch given for Christmas card challenges week 46:

I printed out the sheet music in dark brown on a piece of beige card and distressed with brushed corduroy distress inks with an inkylicious brush. The scalloped strip is from my offcuts. The oval picture of angels is from a kit and I edged it with a brown copic pen.

This is for Lizzie's 'musical theme' challenge for the Christmas Card Club for tomorrow morning (yes, I'm actually a bit early rather than late!).

Christmas deer again

This is another card for my CHNC challenge 95: black and white and another colour if you wish - this time I haven't cheated - I've only added one other colour. The image is once again the IndigoBlu 'merry Christmas deer'. I actually stamped and heat embossed this with black detail before I made my first card for CHNC challenge 95, but I got some powder caught on the surrounding white card so I couldn't use it. I decided not to waste it, but to cut round it and mount it on to an offcut from my Christmas box, a piece of paper that originally came free with a magazine. This was then simply matted on to a black card blank. Unfortunately, on this photo the heated embossing doesn't show up.

For this card I've used a lovely Magenta diaises stamp coloured with copics, mounted on to the piece of Forever friends paper that was going spare in my scraps and a piece of pink dotted card that was an offcut from the back of the cover of a book of papers. The scalloped panel is an offcut from a Kanban kit, studded with gems with a piece of stitched ribbon down the middle. The birthday sentiment is another Creata textured rub on.

'Don't worry, be happy' is the theme for Daring Cardmakers this week, so here is a simple birthday card using an offcut piece of Basic Grey urban couture that has been in my scraps box for ages. The panel with the flower and leaves was taken from an old card. The sentiment is a Creata textured rub on.

CHNC challenge 95: black and white and one other colour if you wish ...

... or you can cheat like I did and make a black and white card with a couple of other colours, as long as black and white are the predominant colours. Today's CHNC challenge 95 is being sponsored by That Craft Place owned by Lisa Horton, who has an online shop and also a bricks and mortar one in Eastbourne. When we've been down in Eastbourne I've visited the shop and always come away delighted with my purchases.

For my card I've used a stamp that I bought there on my last visit - 'Merry Christmas, deer' by InidgoBlu. I inked it with Versafine onyx black and then heat embossed with detail black powder. I then edged with a red copic pen and mounted this on to a piece of black and gold Hunkydory foiled card, then on to a red card blank. I had intended to make the card black and white with a touch of red, but in the end I cheated and also introduced some gold, but I did keep it predominantly black and white.

Wishing you lots of love on your birthday

'Wishing you lots of love on your birthday' is the sentiment that is debossed in gold foiling on silver on the deckled sentiment panel - it's difficult to read on the photo - if I had taken the photo immediately over the sentiment all you would have seen would have been me with the camera in the reflection.

Anyway, this card is another that has been cannibalised and is now nothing like the original, including the size of the card. This time I've chosen a DL card blank and edged it top and bottom with Hobbycraft ribbons with gems. I'm not sure where the pink and white flowers came from, but they are very pretty with tiny pearls in the centres.

Thinking of you

The image of this card was originally on a twisted easel card, which I took to pieces and have used on this card. It is a Penny Black sweet peas stamp coloured with copics. This is mounted on to the pink background and on to a lilac card blank, with the addition of the craftime 'Thinking of you' sentiment.

The embossed were created with a Create too folder, sanded and swiped with firebrick DI.
