... for a happy birthday - for Crafting Musketeers challenge 16 mid-month inspiration. This is my design card for team B using the 'train guard' image kindly supplied by the sponsors, Polka Doodles, coloured with spectrum noirs. The theme for the challenge is 1, 2, 3 - I've used 1 image, 2 buttons (felt ones from Poundland) and 3 gems.

The background picture is one I found on the internet and the sentiment was generated on my Dymo letratag.

This time for another card for my CHNC challenge 190 I used some favourite papers - Teresa Collins 'Christmas at Home', another favourite Christmas Inkadinkado stamp inked with plum archival and heat embossed with clear powder. I used the ink pad to part colour the white flowers. And the plum colour is another favourite of mine.

These are a few of my favourite things ...

... for my CHNC challenge 190.

For this card I used some Hunkydory card mounted on to silver mirror card with a coordinating strip and sentiment circle. The image is one of my favourite Penny Black stamps 'fantasy' inked with Elsybells sugar candy pigment inkpad (one of the best white ones I've ever come across) and heat embossed with detail white powder. So I used one of my favourite stamps, shiny things and heat embossing - oh, and purple is involved too!

Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 42

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 42, which is, once again, anything goes, so it would be lovely if you could join in with your entries - and please click the challenge link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team.

I used Stitchy Bear Birthday word art which I digitally faded at the edges to superimpose on a lovely free background I found on the internet - this was originally brown and I changed the colour digitally and then added the sentiments top and bottom.

I decided to try and do something about the misspelling on the original digital image so I created cut outs of the letters 'r' and 'i' and then cloned the colour where they were and put them in the right places - this is the result:

Completely Christmas 25: mid-month sketch

I've used card, borders, toppers etc from the Hunkydory 'Road to Bethlehem' kit - I love this because it depicts scenes that show what Christmas is really all about - the birth of Jesus Christ. The middle topper, the sentiment etc have been raised up with 3D foam.

Second card for CCAYR mid-month inspiration

This is my second design card for the CCAYR design team mid-month inspiration for the August challenge with the theme Sparkle & Shine - simply create a card that has glitter, sparkle, gems, pearls etc.

I decided to make this an almost one layer card by stamping directly on to the card blank using an Anna Griffin stamp inked with memento tuxedo black. The glittered purple card is an offcut. Ribbon is Papermania and the purple spacers are Prima.

CCAYR mid-month inspiration

It's already mid-month and an opportunity for the CCAYR design team to show some more inspiration for the August challenge with the theme Sparkle & Shine - simply create a card that has glitter, sparkle, gems, pearls etc.

This is my first mid-month design card using an offcut of silver mirror card that was embossed with the folder that came with my eBosser, with another offcut of some crinkled shiny card that I've had for ages, with a piece of glittered ribbon to cover the join. I used another snippet of the crinkled card to back the sentiment. The glittered baubles with gems were from Poundland from last year.

Sweet pea stampers: embossing

This is my design card for the Sweet pea stampers 'embossing' challenge - wet or dry. I've included some dry embossing achieved with an Embossalicious folder with my eBosser - a snippet piece that was left over from a previous project - it was done with matt silver card which I brushed with peacock feathers distress ink.

I used Ching Chou Kuik's 'silentness' (owl version) digi, colouring with spectrum noir pens. The papers I've used are offcuts from the Far East stack, including the piece behind the embossed panel and the sentiment. Flowers from Hobbycraft.

CHNC challenge extra for August mid-month inspiration

It seems impossible that it is already 15 August and time for some mid-month inspiration on CHNC challenge extra for August. The design team have some lovely designs to show - please click on the link and have a look - and we would love to see more of your Christmas entries.

For my card I've used Bugaboo Stamps 'stocking line', matted on to an offcut piece of card and then on to a stray piece of card left from a gift bag from a couple of years ago. This was matted on to an offcut piece of Graphic 45 paper and then on to a piece of card and finally on to a red card blank.

Altered box

It was Lizzie's turn to set the theme for the Christmas Card Club's challenge this fortnight and she asked us to make 'anything but a card'. I've had to prepare this ahead of time because when this goes live we will be away from home (attending a family funeral and extending our stay). I had very little time to make anything, but remembered that I had a sturdy box that I could alter:

My box isn't in the same league as those that Lizzie makes - click on the link above to see what she gets up to - partly because of lack of time, but mainly because I lack the skill to make anything like she does.

I covered it with some DCWV Christmas paper (although this paper could be used for any time of the year), adding some grosgrain decorated ribbon and some ripple bauble stickers from Hobbycraft, threading some red and white twine through and tying, then adding a few miscellaneous stickers. Very simple, but it will now be used to put some of my Christmas crafting bits and bobs in.

Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 41

For my design card for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 41 I used some golfing background paper that I got some time ago from PDA card and craft. The diamond embossed card strip is a piece left over from a previous project which was created with an Embossalicious folder with my eBosser. It was matt silver card, so I brushed it with peacock feathers distress ink. The happy golfer is Bugaboo Stamps AKV golf - golf bag (Bugaboo are sponsoring Suzy Bee's challenge), coloured with spectrum noir pens.

Completely Christmas challenge 24

This is my design card for Completely Christmas 24: anything goes. I've used Sparkle n Sprinkle 'winter cardinal', coloured with spectrum noir pens.I've mounted the image on to a Hunkydory card background - I didn't have enough in one piece so I put two pieces together with a striped border joining them. This then was mounted on to another piece of Hunkydory with the sentiment added. The image and the sentiment circle are raised up with 3D foam.

I love the whole kit because it is what Christmas is really about. I've used Stitchy Bear 'Baby it's cold outside' digital paper and 'Hope Jacre Doodle 3 Christmas trees' (Stitchy Bear is our sponsor) for my card, assembling them digitally with a sentiment added and then printing and colouring with spectrum noir, adding glue and polar white flower soft and lots of small red gems dotted around. The composition was then mounted on to a dark green card blank.
