Second card for CCAYR mid-month
This is my second design card for Christmas cards all year round May challenge: vintage. Please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of others in the team and you can join in our challenge here.
As my theme for this week's CHNC challenge 228 is 'vintage/shabby chic' I'm also showing this there - the challenge is only open until 22:00 UK time tonight, so there's still time to join in.
I'll be back later with the name of the lovely paper that I used for the background (double sided). The black strips are Paper Cellar gllittered strips, although they don't look glittered here. The berries on the lovely vintage scene are also glittered.

Mid-month inspiration for CHNC challenge extra for May
It seems impossible that I'm showing my design card for mid-month inspiration for CHNC challenge extra for May ... where does time go it?! Please click on the link to see the wonderful designs by my team and join in the challenge here.
My card was simply made using the lovely glittered picture that was cut off an M & S gift card, matting this on to backgrounds that I'd previously made for another card that I didn't like when it was finished, so I demolished it apart from the background layers - the top one had been embossed with a folder.
The strips and sentiment were from Craftwork cards - the sentiment says 'from our house to yours'.

For my card I used Bugaboo Stamps Beautiful blocks - faith, kindly provided by the challenge sponsor. I love this image - suitable for so many occasions, including condolence.
I changed the overall look of the image from blackand white to sepia and coloured the roses in Microsoft Paint before printing and mounting on a piece of pearlescent card and then a dark brown card blank. Just the addition of the 3D rose stickers and the butterflies and the card was done.

This is my design card for the Cheerful stamp pad challenge 111: fairies. Please click on the link to see the wonderful crafting of the rest of the team and we would love you to join in our challenge.
For my card I used the lovely Ching chou kuik's 'magic spread' digi kindly supplied by our sponsor, Sweet Pea Stamps. I coloured with spectrum noir pencils and cut the image with a Spellbinders nestie die, brushing with antique linen distress ink before removing from the die. This was then matted on to another Spellbinders nestie die cut using some matt gold card, which was also embossed. The paisley embossed background was created with an embossalicious folder using some cream card with gold glitter, brushing this with the antique linen ink, adding the strip of corrugated card, sentiment, gems and hessian and wood flowers. Everything was then matted on to matt gold card and then a kraft card blank.
I based my card on the sketch given for Die cuttin' divas challenge 214:

CHNC challenge 228: vintage or shabby chic
This is my first design card for my CHNC challenge 228: vintage or shabby chic. I have to admit that I sometimes find 'vintage/shabby chic' rather daunting, but when you think of Christmas, perhaps you can feature an old fashioned snow scene, or a family gathered around the fire, a vintage looking Father Christmas ... I'm sure you will have lots of ideas. And I think it might be a good opportunity to use some of those cards from last year that you couldn't bear to part with ... a bit of upcycling may be.
I've used a beautiful vintage sheet kindly given to me by Heather at My Artistic Adventures - Christmas angels peace on earth. I scanned this into my Scan n Cut and used it to cut all the pieces - so much quicker than fussy cutting by hand. I then overlapped and matted these on to a piece of fancy pants design winterland paper. All edges were distressed using victorian velvet distress ink. Everything was then mounted on to a sparkling pink card blank.

This month's sponsor for Let's craft and create is
The prize is any 3 sets of your choice from The Cutting Café.
The Cutting Café provided the DT with various templates to use and I chose to use those for a classic car shaped card, converting the svg files with Brother canvas to cut using my Scan n Cut. I used some DCWV textured card and also some smokey grey mirror card, as well as some plain black card.
The sticking together was quite fiddly, but I got there in the end!

I used Sassy Studio Designs snow queen portrait (Think it works just as well for spring/summer as winter) colouring digitally using Microsoft Paint and fussy cutting around the image before mounting on to a piece of Buckwells Crafts 'checkout' digital printed paper, matting this on to a piece of textured lemon DCWV card die cut using one of the Spellbinders marvelous squares. The background card is DCWV from an old summer range - the white flowers are lovely and shiny. Flower ribbon, sentiment and gems from stash.

The cheerful stamp pad challenge 110 second week
This is my design card for the Cheerful stamp pad challenge 110 second week, which is all about owls. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge here.
For my card I used Concetta Kilmer's 'owl hearts' Sweet Pea digital image keeping the colouring to sepia tones, including a little distress sponging around the edges before tearing around a perspex oval template and using an offcut of brown card with a larger template to back the image. The background paper is actually from My Mind's Eye lost and found Christmas, but I think it can be used for occasions other than Christmas. This was wrapped in the centre by some lovely natural jute from Poundland, with maroon offcut down the centre that matches the background, finishing with some lovely textured natural canvas and cork flowers, again from Poundland.

The card blank is a lovely deep blue stardream that has a glittery look according to how the light shines on it. I used an offcut of Echo park 'winter time' patterned paper to stamp the Joy to the world Clarity stamp, inked with Adirondack denim. I then masked off the O and stamped the Clarity carol singers stamp, again using the denim ink. The strip behind the ribbon is a snippet left from printing some Ooh la la digital paper long ago, which I think goes just right with the other paper. Ribbon and felt buttons from stash.

CHNC challenge 227
It's Saturday again and time for CHNC challenge 227: girly - and this week I'd like you to make a girly Christmas creation - either featuring a female or suitable for a female to receive.
For my card I've used a girly image resulting in a card that I think would be fine to give to a female. I used the Indigo Blu Rebecca snow queen mounting on to an offcut of red mirror card. The card blank is a black A5 size opening landscape, so I cut off a piece on the right so that I could put a patterned paper inside that would show (an unknown paper from my stack of Christmas papers). The paper used on the outside of the card is My Mind's Eye Bohemia Christmas 'believe' stripe paper.

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 78: anything goes with a twist ... no patterned paper. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.
For my card I used Sassy Studio Design's Little Honey's tinkerbell image (Sassy Studio Designs are the sponsors of the challenge) - this was digitally coloured and mounted on to a small offcut of mirror card. The large background is a piece of Curious Particles midnight star card embossed using the hessian embossing folder (one of the Crafter's Companion textures range) and the smaller embossed card was created with an embossalicious folder, both run through the eBosser. The flower was from Hobbycraft and ribbon and sentiment from stash.
Not a good photo, but I'd left the card till the last day and wanted to take the photo while the light was reasonable.

Buckwell Crafts challenge 8: spots or stripes or both
This is my design card for Buckwell Crafts challenge 8: spots or stripes or both. Please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.
I've used A Lil Digi Heaven 'beach lounger', kindly supplied by one of the challenge sponsor. Lozzy will also be giving Micro Dots Digi Papers and Checkout Digi Papers to two winners.
Unfortunately, the idea that I had for my card was better in my head than the finished result. I used drawing gun to cover up the image while I brushed Spectrum Noir aqua tints across the piece of card. This is the first time I had used drawing gum, so the result was far from perfect and I'm still trying to get better results with the aquatints ... I should have given myself more time. I apologise to Lozzy and my teamies for my poor effort.
I coloured the image with Spectrum noir pens, including putting the spots and stripes on the beach loungers.
The yellow ink for the sand was mixed with a bit of gold, so in real life there is a lovely shimmer.
This is also for:
