Christmas cards all year round August challenge

This is my first design card for Christmas cards all year round August challenge, which is all about 'snowflakes'. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and we would love to see your entries.

The background is a piece of Fantastic Foils festive frolics and the topper was rescued from a card received, matting this on silver mirror card. Punched snowflakes from snippets of silver mirror card were added.

A bit more time to craft

My card is one that I was commissioned to make for a 12 year old who, like most his age, is interested in techie things!

The background is from a Kanban sentiments book of cards and the pictures are all old Kanban photo toppers that I've had waiting for the right reason to come along to use them. The band across the bottom was taken from a mouse pad paper pad from Wilkinson's.

Suzy Bee's bloomin' challenge 91

I used the Pickled Potpourri Designs 'tail feathers' image, kindly supplied by the challenge sponsor, colouring with chameleon pens. The background paper was a couple of scrap pieces from my offcuts box (originally from a magazine, I think) and I used DCWV ribbons top and bottom and the sentiment generated on my dymo letratag.

CHNC challenge extra for August 2015

As it's 1 August, it's time for CHNC challenge extra for August 2015 - a challenge where 'anything goes as long as it's Christmas' - please click on the link to see the lovely designs by my team and we hope you will join in the challenge which, as always is sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps.

For my card I used the ginger spoon image kindly supplied by the sponsor, colouring digitally in Paint, matting on to an offcut of card. The background paper is from a Tattered Lace magazine and the strip near the bottom is a scrap left from a previous card with grosgrain ribbon beneath that.

Feminine friendship

The friendship quote with graphics is Bugaboo Stamps Friendship sentiment, kindly supplied by Bugaboo as sponsors the the challenge. Everythign else used was free clipart pngs that were easy to add to the main friendship silhouette one. The silhouette was originally black on brown, but I changed the colours.

CHNC challenge 239: Ho! Ho! Ho!

This is my card for my CHNC challenge 239: Ho! Ho! Ho! Please click on the link to see what this is about and join in the Christmas fun with your entries.

For my one layer CAS card I've used one of my favourite Santa stamps bt Hero Arts inked with memento tuxedo black and filled in with a poppy red embossing pen for Santa's hat, heat embossed with WOW! detail clear gloss powder, then using a clear embossing pen to 'colour' in the fur on Santa's hat and his beard and embossed with WOW! metallic medley powder. The Ho Ho Ho stamp was from Hobbycraft. I dotted in places with quickie glue and then sprinkled with Chloe's sparkelicious glitter.

However much I tried I couldn't get a photo that showed the card as it actually is - this is the best I could do and below you can see a close up showing the embossing and glitter a bit better:

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 90: anything goes with a twist ... use some ice cream shades - I'm thinking pistachio, mint, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry ... yes, I know that's a lot of flavours, but I love a lot of them! Cheerful stamp pad challenge 116

This is my very late design card for the Cheerful stamp pad challenge 116: hearts and flowers. My big apologies to Vicki and my fellow teamies for not getting this card done on time ... first of all I got confused with days (thinking the card was due for today) and then, when I realised, I couldn't find the image that I'd already coloured in a week or two ago! I used the lovely dogwood image from Stitchy Bear's In the garden, kindly supplied by the sponsor, colouring this with chameleon pens and then die cutting using one of the Spellbinder marvelous squares die. The background paper is from a booklet of the Country Dairy of an Edwardian Lady collection which seemed appropriate for the card. Some spotty ribbon, lace, gems and sentiment finish off the card.

CHNC challenge 238: spots and/or stripes

This is my card for my CHNC challenge 238: spots and/or stripes. I've used some lovely digital bokeh paper kindly supplied by one of our sponsors this week, Stamp your life. The lovely reindeer is 'snowflake reindeer silhouette' by Bugaboo Stamps. The stripes and other elements were achieved with playing around with various digital designs.

I thought the bokeh effect would make a change to the more normal regular spots or dots.

A vintage wedding card

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 89: anything goes with a twist ... vintage wedding card. Please click the link to the lovely crafting of others in the team and join in our challenge.

I used a Dazzling Ace Designs image supplied by them as sponsor, adhering an ornate frame over the printed image (wasn't sure about this at first, but I think it looks OK, just different). I've had the wedding vows sentiment panel for ages and thought it was just right for this card with a piece of ribbon behind (used to use ribbon like this years ago, but got out of the habit). The Mr & Mrs is a raised embossed rub on.

In the photo the card looks lighter than it is - more of a creamy ivory in real life.

Mid-month has come round so quickly again - difficult to think that we are now much nearer to Christmas 2015 than 2014. It's time for some mid-month inspiration from the team. We would love you to join in our July challenge here.

For my card I used  Aurora Wings Christmas owl with Santa hat, colouring with chameleon pens and matting on to an offcut of paper, then on to a couple more Christmas offcuts (the main background is BoBunny). Poinsettias from Poundland. I added Art Institute fine glitter to the edges of the hat.

Sometimes life is an uphill struggle ...

I was asked for make a card for friends to send to a keen cyclist who is going through a difficult time. I found this image free on the internet and thought it fitted the requested. I created the whole card digitally and then printed out. I wish I'd taken a picture of the actual card before I gave it to my friends because the digital image that I've saved hasn't made the card look as good as it was - somehow the jpg got saved with a weaker resolution. The text going up the hill is '... it is the Lord who goes before you,' Deut. 31:8.

It did look much better than this printed out ... honestly!

The lovely picture was supplied by Dazzling Ace Designs, sponsor of the challenge. As it is a long and narrow image I decided to use a DL card black, covered in some lovely purple and silver HOTP paper that I've had for ages. I can't remember where I got the silver lace from, but thought it was just right for this card with the addition of the sentiment and the Hobbycraft flower.
