CCAYR September challenge

So this is my second design card, using some lovely Websters Pages paper as the background with some 3D stickers with gingham and that lovely reindeer with glittered antlers.

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper September challenge

It's the beginning of a new month and time for a new challenge on my Patterned Paper blog - Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper September challenge - please click on the link to see the wonderful designs of my team - I am so fortunate to have such a talented bunch of ladies.

As the prize for September is a lovely 12" x 12" K & Company paper pad (more details here), I thought I would use similar K & Co papers for my easel card, using some die cuts, corrugated card strip, hearts, bows and lace as well as the gorgeous vase of flowers 106 embroidered topper kindly given to me by Crafty Bren.

CHNC challenge extra for September

It is hard to believe that we are already starting September. Here in the UK the nights are really drawing in (especially on rainy days like today) and Christmas is getting nearer! If you haven't yet started your Christmas cards etc, September can be the ideal time to do so before it gets to the panic season for crafters. I know that many of my visitors have been ahead of the game and entering into my challenges throughout the year, but if you haven't, please step across to CHNC challenge extra for September and join in the fun.

This is my design card using supplies from Bugaboo Stamps who are always the sponsors for my CHNC challenge extra blog. I am so grateful to them, as I know my winners are.

I used digi papers Frosty (red snowflakes) and Girlz Christmas present, adding a big red bow and the sentiment.

CHNC challenge 244: use some silver

For my CHNC challenge 244 this week I'm asking you to use some silver on your Christmas creations - a little or a lot. I look forward to seeing your entries. My card is very simple and doesn't involve much silver, but there are dots of silver glitter around the lovely wreath that was rescued from a card received last year. The background paper is from a pack that came free with a magazine some time ago.

Under the weather

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 95: anything goes with a twist ... create your own background. Please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.

I used the lovely Bugaboo Stamps Rainy day bears - rain rain (Bugaboo Stamps are sponsoring the challenge), colouring the image with paint. For the background I embossed some red mirror card using an Embossalicious embossing folder called 'picnic plaid'. The ribbon is some DCWV that I've had for quite some time and fabric buttons from Poundland. The sentiment strips were generated with my Dymo letratag.

For my card I've used the Miss Lily on the beach image kindly supplied by the challenge sponsor, Little Blue Button, coloured with chameleon pens. All papers and card used are from my offcuts box. I added the little rubber flip flops that have been in my stash for ages.

Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge 100

This is my design card for this week's Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge 100: anything goes with a twist ... use a number.

I was commissioned to make this card by a friend whose Auntie was to be 100. I was told that she liked flowers and her garden, so this is what I came up with, using some Kanban supplies and other bits and bobs including the lovely Hobbycraft flowers. The oval in the middle is raised up a bit to give a bit more dimension.

I used The stamping boutique butterfly image, kindly supplied by the challenge sponsor, printed on to an unknown piece of Happy Birthday paper, coloured with spectrum noir pens. The Happy Birthday border was created using a Martha Stewart punch and I lined the inside of the card with Hot off the Press papers.

Cheerful stamp pad challenge 118 second week

This is my design card for challenge 118 week 2 - please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge here.

For the second week of our challenge 118 I used the same digital image as last week - the lovely 'Sophie with flower' image supplied by the sponsor, Little Blue Button  - coloured with chameleon pens and die cut using an X cut parenthesis rectangular die, using a larger one for the mat  using an offcut of Hot off the Press paper. Corrugated strip and spotted ribbon from stash and the lovely organza flower with pearls in the centre. The background paper is some that I've had for a long time - it has an iridescent sheen that changes colour as the light catches it.

Leather and lace

I was invited by the lovely Anne Lise to join her as a guest - you can read more about this here.

I used the lovely 'leather and lace' image supplied by Delicious Doodles, colouring with chameleon pens and mounting on to a piece of embossed paper that was originally gold and I swiped it with a red pen, hence it has a  nice shimmer to it. This was then mounted on to a piece of faux crocodile leather paper. The paper on the right hand side is Black market paper society ebony & alabaster Breakfast at Tiffany's. All papers were from my offcuts box. I used a panel of faux embossed leather with a silver sheen - this is almost like a thick material - it's the last piece of some that I bought years ago at Ally Pally. This seemed just the right sort of card to use it for. the lace on the left hand side is a rub on with some Deco Time pearls added and also on to parts of the image.

Crafting Musketeers challenge 28

The background paper of my card is from a booklet of The country diary of an Edwardian lady papers with a piece of purple Hot off the press paper matted on to it. The oval die cuts were some I recently recently as a prize. I used some snippet pieces of lace across the middle, although I didn't have enough to go all the way across, so careful placement of the ovals with foam pads hid the gap. The oval was stamped with one of my all time Penny Black favourites, sparklers, inked with Stazon gothic purple.

I have used silver and gold on my card, using a black shaped card blank which some silver glittered snowflakes randomly around the edges, with three layers of decreasing sizes die cuts, the middle one being gold mirror card on to which I stuck the lovely Bethlehem scene that was rescued from a card received, cut down and corners rounded - there's quite a lot of gold foiling on the picture.
