More Mixed Media challenge: blue

I feel really privileged to be on the design team for More Mixed Media challenges, although I feel very inadequate for the task.

Well its finally here the start of this new challenge blog and our very 1st challenge for you is any shades of "Blue".

We would like to see some where on your project a shade of Blue for this challenge so it could be the main focal colour or just a hint of the colour some where on your creation.

We would love to see your mixed media work, project life spreads, digital layouts, scrap-booking, pocket letters, up-cycled projects etc. Even though we are a mixed media challenge we dont want to leave anyone out so you can enter with your traditional paper/card layouts so long as we can see the colour for each challenge.

This is my canvas for More Mixed Media challenge: blue, using Spectrum Noir Aqua tints inks and various stencils and stamps, as well as some Pebeo silver gilding wax and white opal liquid pearls. Stencils are Creative Expressions Birch Trees and Sheena Douglass Deer. Snowflake stamps are Inkadinkado

I was really out of my comfort zone doing this (and it shows in the result), but I'm still very glad to have this opportunity. I will try hard to produce something better for next months' More Mixed Media challenge.

Easel card for The Glory of Christmas challenge 75

This is my design card for The Glory of Christmas challenge 75: easel card - or anything goes as long as it's Christmas. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of others in the team and we would love to see you entries.

I used papers from the DCWV Christmas glitter pad (these are absolutely lovely and the beauty is that the glitter doesn't shed). I decided to make a twisted easel, using some silver rhinestones and some corrugated card for the 'stopper' across the middle - a row of larger rhinestones beneath the corrugated card.The image is The Stamping Boutique Christmas mouse (I love this). A few Hobbycraft poinsettias and the Happy Christmas banner on the corrugated card and the card was done.

For this card I used a lovely vintage Christmas image supplied by Dazzling Ace Designs, one of the new sponsors at CHNC. I mounted this on to a piece of gold mirror card, with a very narrow border. The foiled checked card on the left and the piece of paper on the right were from my Christmas offcuts box, as was the gold mirror to mat the image. Gold ribbon and sentiment from stash, flowers from Hobbycraft.

A bit more time to craft January challenge

This is my design card for A bit more time to craft January challenge 11 - please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team and join in the challenge.

I've used 'peachy pink fairy' digi by Ching Chou Kuik colouring with spectrum noir pens., with Art Institute glitter with quickie glue pen on to the wings. This was cut out with a deckle edged nestie die and brushed on the edges with distress ink and mounted on to a piece of stenciled paper made with my gelli plate. The background paper is one of Lozzy's 'fun' ones.

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper January challenge

This is the card I made for John's birthday (30 December - one of those awkward ones that's too near Christmas!). I used a piece of Donna Ingemanson's rough & tumble across the middle, the other papers from Amy Butler's faded china - all by K & Co - I've had these paper pads for years so it's about time some got used!

I based the card on the sketch given for Sweet Sunday sketch 300:

using an 8 x 8 card blank.

The sentiment label is from Kanban, other bits and pieces from stash.

Crafting musketeers challenge 32

This is my design card for Crafting musketeers challenge 32: use a sentiment. The link is for team B's designs - please have a look to see the lovely designs of the team and also look here to see the designs of team A and enter the challenge there.

I was disappointed because I dug out some lovely Clarity stamps to use, but couldn't find my acrylic blocks - still got craft stuff in various places that need to be sorted. After I'd changed course and made this card, I realised that I could have used a plastic lid instead of an acrylic block, but, hey ho - this card was then done, using Hunkydory supplies and some ribbon bought some time ago from Hobbycraft. The 'Brother' word is a textured rub on and the Many Happy Returns is from Kanban.

Make it sparkle

This is my design card for Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge 116: anything goes with a twist ... make it sparkle. Please click the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.

I used some very sparkly DCWV Christmas paper as the background, wrapping round some sparkly silver ribbon - the piece wasn't long enough so I improvised instead of trying to make a knot. The image is AuroraWings Christmas owl with Santa Hat (AuroraWings are sponsoring the challenge). I coloured this digitally with Microsoft Paint before printing out and cutting, also adding some stickles glitter icicles glitter glue to the furry bits on the hat. The little tag is one that's been lurking in my Christmas box for months.

CHNC challenge extra mid-month December

The Glory of Christmas challenge 74

This is my design card for the Glory of Christmas challenge 74 which this time will last for three weeks instead of two and you can link up anything Christmas. Please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of others in the team and join in the challenge.

This is a simple card using a picture covered with acetate (from a very old Kanban collection), matted on to a topper from Kanban (more recent), edged by some lovely glitter strips.

Mum's birthday card

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 110: anything goes with a twist ... add some buttons (at least one), using Anna Griffin papers. Please click on the challenge link to see the wonderful designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.

I made this for my mum's birthday on 29 November. The base card is 8 x 8 which gave plenty of room for the AG papers, 3D flowers and butterflies and other pieces, including the Poundland felt buttons and the Kanban greetings. I did cheat a bit because I linked this for my Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper December challenge.

Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge

This is my design card for Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge 115: anything goes with a twist ...  on the ... day of Christmas ... Please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team and join in the challenge.

I used one of the Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet images from their 12 days of Christmas digital set, colouring with spectrum noir pens.

I used an A5 tent style card part covered with some green glitter DCWV paper adding some Poundland flowers with pearls. The die cut music at the top was cut with a Die'sire die - Christmas carol. I'm disappointed that this die will only seem to cut through thin paper rather than thin card. I tried a piece of card quite a few times and couldn't get a good result and I had an additional metal shim in the eBosser sandwich. Nevermind, I got there by using a piece of pearlised red paper. I used a couple of pieces of silver glitter trim where the papers were joined, adding a flower to hide the fact that I'd used two snippet pieces because I didn't have a long enough piece.
