Happy birthday

For this card I used a lovely image kindly supplied by Dazzling Ace Designs,.I mounted some corrugated card and cream lace on to the DL kraft card blank, adding the Craftime flower and the Anna Griffin sentiment (the foiling on this is actually gold, not silver as it looks in the photo - and they say that the camera never lies - lol!)

CHNC challenge extra for May mid-month

The glory of Christmas challenge 84

This is my design card for the Glory of Christmas challenge 84: Christmas socks/stockings. My card was simply made with an image supplied by one of the sponsors, Dazzling Ace Designs, die-cutting with a todo henna frame die which cuts a  frame as well as the image in the centre. I rounded the corners and matted on to a piece of gingerbread lane paper, with the addition of some Hobbycraft poinsettias.

April showers bring May flowers (and rainbows!)

For this card I used the Star Stampz spring rain image, colouring with spectrum noir and die cutting with an Xcut rectangular parenthesis die, using a large one to cut a yellow background that was originally created by brayering colour to help clean the brayer when I had done some stencilling with the gelli plate. The glittered pansies are some that I bought some time ago from Poundland. The sentiment was generated on computer and everything mounted on to a piece of rainbow paper and then on to an A5 tent style card blank.

This is for the Art at Stampz by Star weather related challenge.

Pink fairy house for More Mixed Media challenge

This is my design project for More Mixed Media pink challenge:

I was wandering around The Works seeing what bargains they had and I came across this fairy house that I knew I just had to buy for my pink creation.

This is what is said about the house:

'A lovely little wooden fairy house that you can paint, decorate and embellish to your own personal taste. Once you've created your design, place the fairy house in your bedroom, open the doors, and let the fairies in.

A great way to introduce fairies to your home to open up a whole new magical world for your children.'

 The fairies aren't going to be in our bedroom, but they are welcome in the craft room.

I mixed white gesso and bright pink acrylic paint to paint the lovely pink background. I coloured the windows with spectrum noir pens, also the heart. I brush spectrum noir sparkles around the window frames and the windows and also added sparkle to the doors. White lace, spotted material and pearls were added to the roof and flowers etc to the front wall of the house. The lovely chipboard 'believe' panel is one that I've had for ages - there is a strip of gems behind it, but can't really see them in the photo.

I couldn't get a picture of the whole of the fairy inside, but you get the general idea (should have taken a picture of her before sticking inside, with difficulty!).

Calendar girls crafty challenge

I bought some of these sentiment panels years ago ... and still have one or two. Other bits and pieces from stash, all mounted on matt silver and gold card, with the addition of the rings. The bits that look black are actually silver mirror.

Well, summer must be on it's way soooon, although last week we had four seasons in one day ... sun, hail, sun, snow, wind ...

I think you need your sunglasses on for viewing this card ... well, it is all about summer.

I've used the Sunsational Stamps Tiffany lounging image kindly supplied by the sponsor of the challenge. I coloured with spectrum noir pens and die cut with X cut rectangular parenthesis die (these are among my favourites), using a larger one to cut an offcut of We R Memory Keepers paper that had been left from a previous project.

The background was created with acrylic paint, a stencil and the gelli plate (left over from a previous project). Ribbon is DCWV, a chipboard 'FUN' that I've had for ages and a pair of flip flop charms (much brighter colour irl).

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper May challenge

This card was in response to a commissioned request for a birthday card for a 5 year old footie fan.

Suzy Bee's bloomin' challenge 128

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's bloomin' challenge 128: anything goes with a twist ... fairyland. Please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of others in the team and we hope you will join in our challenge.

I used an image from Nikki Burnette sheet 2 (Nikki is sponsoring the challenge) - this was a ready coloured image. The frame added over the upper part of the image is from a set of Trimcraft curiosity corner frames. The image was matted on to a piece of gold gilded faux leather that I've had for years and never found a use for it. The orange mirror card was embossed with a folder. Sparkly ribbon, Hobbycraft flowers and Birthday sentiment circle were added.

The camera sometimes plays tricks according to the light because the birthday circle looks silver, whereas it it actually gold to match the gold in other elements.

Crafting in a beautiful mess challenge 2

This is my design card for Crafting in a beautiful mess challenge 2 where anything goes all of the time. Please click on the challenge link to see the wonderful designs of the rest of the team for our second challenge ... and we would love you to join in.

Challenges are always be on the last Friday of the month, starting at 08:00 UK time.

I used the lovely pre-coloured image from Fabrika Fantasy called 'little travellers' kindly provided by Fabrica as one of the sponsors of the challenge - and I added the sentiment before printing. I mounted the image on to a scrap of We R memory keepers frenzy + rumble from their White Out collection.

The background paper and ribbons are DCWV from a summer pack bought a few years ago.I used a variety of 3D stickers, including two sets of lovely plastic flip flops. I used an 8 x 8 card blank as I wanted plenty of space for all the bits and pieces.
