For this card I used The Stamping Boutique cupcake, colouring with spectrum noir pens.

All the other elements for the card (except the birthday sentiment) are from a Kanban set I bought some years ago ... still got some to use up! Doesn't really show up here, but there is glitter on everything used except the sentiments.

Now that summer's here ...

CHNC challenge 285: colour: silver

This is my card for my CHNC challenge 285: silver .... a little or a lot! I'm sure you can all find some silver in your Christmas stash and join in the challenge ... no, it's not too early to make Christmas cards!

For the background of my card I used an offcut piece of DCWV holiday glitzy glitter paper - the silver is very glittery in real life) with lots of strips of washi tape. The tree scene was upcycled from an old Christmas card.

DT call for Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge July - December 2016

DT call at Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge

For the past year I've had a wonderfully supportive DT working with me and I am thankful for every one of them. Sadly, two or three members are not able to commit themselves to a further six months on the team which means I need at least two new members for July - December 2016.

If you would like to be considered to join the team, please leave your name in linky with a link to your blog.

The initial term would be for six months from July 2016, with a view to continuing after that if mutually agreed.

You would be expected to make one design each month - to be ready a day or too before the 1st of the month. You would be able to make anything as long as you have used some patterned paper. Your design would need to be on your blog as soon as possible after the challenge goes live - always at 00:00 UK time on 1st of the month.

Those who join the DT would be expected to comment on allocated numbers of entries throughout the month. Please be aware that if you join the team there will be quite a bit of commenting to do because there are always lots of entries.

This call will remain open until 23:55 UK time Tuesday 14 June. The new team members will be notified as soon as possible after that date in order to give time to submit a design for 1 July 2016.

We have a DT blog (on blogger) for the team to place their designs for upcoming challenges and for any passing on of information etc.

My card is dedicated to Eileen Dobson, who was the leader of the challenge blog. This is what Mary Trainer posted on the blog:

It is with great sadness that I have to share the news that Eileen Dobson, owner of this Challenge Blog passed away yesterday, May 31st in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Eileen put up a brave fight for the last few months and to say that we will miss her is an understatement.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.

I made a promise to Eileen that I would keep this Challenge Blog going so as of now I will be taking over the running of this blog, although this will always remain Eileen's Challenge.

R.I.P. Eileen dear lady.

We are honoured to have been able to call you our friend as well as our Team Leader.

I wrapped a piece of silver grey netting around the inside of the card with the line of daisies, covering the outside of the card with some unknown paper, adding rub on flowers, the little wooden heart and the peel off sentiment.

More mixed media challenge 6: anything goes + optional colour purple

This is my design project for More mixed media challenge: anything goes + optional colour purple. Please click on the link to see the fantastic creations of the rest of the team and to read what the challenge is all about - we hope you will join in.

I altered a box that had contained an Easter egg (and very delicious it was - huge big egg with lots of chocs inside!). The box was too good to throw away and when I saw the piece of lilac/purple already on the box I decided this would be my purple project. Purple is my favourite crafting colour, so I loved putting this together.

I used urple acrylic paint, brushing and then daubing the paint, drying with the heat gun in between, adding flowers and ribbon from Lozzy and a felt bird:

I added a band of glittered paper to the rim of the lid, adding some Papermania flowers both sides and the felt bird on the top:

The glory of Christmas challenge 86

This is my design card for the Glory of Christmas challenge 86: no patterned paper. I used four glitter edged squares that I've had for ages (can't remember where they came from - it's about time they're used), topped with the 3D tree stickers which have also been in my Christmas stash for longer than I can remember.

The squares were mounted on to shiny red card (shine doesn't show up here) before being matted on to the white card blank.

Crafting Musketeers challenge 38

This is my design card for Crafting Musketeers challenge 38: weddings. The challenge is being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique and I used two of their images AJ the groom, and Audrey the bride, covering with spectrum noir pens. The pagoda shape was cut on my Scan n Cut using the Tattered lace 'home sweet home' die cut which is on Scan n Cut USB 1. I used a ready cut tag style A5 card , a Docraft bow and a couple of embroidered flowers that I've had for a long time

It was quite time consuming poking out all the little bits from the die cut and also getting the printed image of the groom and bride together to fit in the space, but it was worth the effort.

Calendar girls crafty challenge 1

Today sees the start of a new challenge blog: Calendar girls crafty challenge and I am delighted to say that I'm privileged to be on the design team.

These challenges will always start on the first Thursday of every month and finish on the last Wednesday.

The theme for challenge 1 is 'father's day'.

For my card I used the lovely Stamping Boutique pocket patootie frog digital stamp, kindly provided by them as sponsor of the challenge. The background paper was printed from one of Lozzy's mixed media digital papers. I coloured the image with spectrum noir pens and die cut using a Todo decorative oval die, brushing the edge with peacock feathers distress ink. I tore a piece of fishing theme paper from PDA card and craft. I finished off the card with the sentiment and the pearlised circle stickers from Paperchase.

A bit more time to craft

For my card I used Girl in flowers and Lozzy's digi papers from "Beauty + Flowers + Three" papers sets. I coloured the image digitally using Microsoft Paint before adding to the digital papers, printing out and adding the glittered pansies.

I used one of Lozzy's Christmas papers (kindly provided by Lozzy as one of our sponsors)  for the background of my card, wrapping some beautiful organza sparkly ribbon around some deep blue mirror card and adding a pyramage picture from Kanban bought years ago. The sentiment was computer generated and printed.

Guest designer for Creative Craft Cottage challenge 64

I'm delighted to be a guest today for Creative Craft Cottage challenge 64: include an animal. I was supplied with the lovely Panda love image by Teri Sherman at ArtiDoodles (Delicious Doodles). I decided to keep to black, white and create, using a free vector bamboo background and creating the 'Keep Calm' panel, mounting on to a piece of black to match the card blank. The main background paper is a mottled ivory and grey parchment, wrapped with the paws ribbon, with three buttons added.

For my card I printed the hot cocoa snowman image kindly provided by one of the sponsors, Robyn's Fetish, colouring with spectrum noir pens - I tore the edges around a perspex oval  Papers are Fantastic Foils festive frolics, with a piece of red border that's been in my Christmas scraps box for ages. The 'ho ho ho' pieces are foiled silver.
