80th birthday card

This card was made for one of the ladies in John's blind bowling club. The background is taken from a photo of Danson Park bowling green, where the club plays in the summer months. The bowls lady was stamped with a Personal Impressions stamp for Paper Nation, colouring with spectrum noir pens and cutting out on my Scan n cut. Stitched ribbon, sentiment and numbers from stash.

This is my card for my CHNC challenge 288: vintage or anything goes as long as it's Christmas. Please click on the link to find out what my challenge is all about ... and I hope you will be able to join in with your festive entries.

For my card I used two vintage digital images kindly supplied by Dazzling Ace Designs, one of the sponsors of the challenge.

The glittery, shiny background paper is unknown (think it might have been a magazine freebie, but can't remember) and the two sentiment pieces were from a kit long ago.

Sympathy card for A bit more time to craft challenge 23

This is my design card for A bit more time to craft challenge 23 which, as always, is anything goes. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs by the rest of the team and we hope you will join in our challenge.

Sadly, I needed to make a sympathy card, so I used one of Lozzy's lovely mixed media papers printed out and stamped with one of my favourites, Penny Black's sparklers inked with memento grape jelly. The sentiment stamp is one designed by Lynn Lockwood simply entitled 'our thoughts'.

I kept this simple because I think that's much better for a condolence card.

CHNC challenge extra for July

It doesn't seem possible that we are now nearer to Christmas 2016 than 2015. I started my Christmas challenge blogs a few years ago to help to spread the task of making Christmas cards throughout the year - I'm so glad I did and am grateful to all those who enter the challenges sharing their lovely festive crafting. If you haven't started Christmas designs yet, perhaps now is the right time to do so and join in the fun at CHNC challenge extra for July - I'd love to see you there.

For my card I used an unknown piece of paper for the base on this side opening A5 card, wrapping the sentiment ribbon around. The image is Christmas mouse - cocoa, kindly supplied by Bugaboo Stamps, the sponsor of the challenge - a randomly chosen winner will receive $21 worth of digital stamps.

I coloured the image with spectrum noir pens and mounted on to an offcut of pink patterned paper. The doiley shape was rescued and upcycled from an old Christmas card received and some Hobbycraft flowers added.

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper July challenge

This is my card for my Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper July challenge. I've used papers and other elements from Trimcraft 'A beautiful life' - one of the paper pads and a few matching extras will be sent to the randomly chosen winner of the challenge. All you have to do to enter is to make something (it needed be a card if you want to make something different) using some patterned paper - and you can enter as many times as you wish.

The image in the wooden frame was stamped using the Hero Arts 'gracious lady', coloured with promarkers. The only thing that isn't from the 'A beautiful life' set is the birthday greeting label from Kanban.

A special golden wedding anniversary

This is a card made for a friend from childhood (we went to secondary school together and enjoyed many a day in each other's company) and her husband to celebrate their golden wedding. I was one of their three bridesmaids and it certainly doesn't seem like 50 years ago! I managed to find a photo of the bride and groom that I printed out and put within the green and gold Kanban frame, using a matching frame at the back so that there wouldn't be any odd pieces showing. I swiped the fancy edge of the upper part of the easel with versamark, applying ' pirate gold' embossing powder before heating. I've had the green flowery card for a long while, waiting for the right occasion to use it and the inside of the easel is covered with sentiment paper repeating 'Happy Anniversary'. The white Hobbycraft flowers were daubed here and there with sparkle medium cinnamon and champagne. Glitter strips and lace added to top and bottom.

I chose the green, yellow and gold theme as us bridesmaids were dressed in green and yellow, although a different colour green to that I used here.

Sorry that the photos aren't as bright as the card actually is ... I needed to get it into the post, so had to settle for these photos.

Tear it to pieces re-visited

I needed to make a quick personalised card, so I looked in my box and found one that I made and showed here.

I printed the greeting and stuck over the original panel and added the Hobbycraft flowers and the numerals.

90th birthday

This card was for one of John's blind bowling club. I used a photo of the Danson Park bowls green where they play in the summer. The bowler was stamped, coloured with spectrum noir and then cut on my Scan n Cut. The sentiment is a textured rubon and the numerals are gold foiled (although that doesn't show up well here (had to take photo quickly as it needed to be posted).

I love these lilies - used to use them a lot and know that they were appreciated by recipients, but it's a while since I've used them. Wedding day

This is a commissioned wedding card, using some background paper that was cut from a 12 x 12 scrapbook paper (no idea of the company, have had this for a long time, waiting for occasion to use it).

The sentiment was printed out and cut with a todo decorative oval and a bigger oval cut from some matt gold card. Glittered organza ribbon was wrapped around a piece of gold glitter card, with some padded hearts added. The white flower was from Hobbycraft and the bride and groom die cut was in a set I bought too many years ago to remember.

Happy birthday

This is a very similar card to the one I showed before this ... I remembered that one and thought it would be a good format for another man's card. This time I tore a piece of the Kanban sentiment cardstock, adding the stamped docrafts stamp inked with memento rich cocoa, the Kanban best wishes oval and then the felt circles with buttons in the middle - and stitching on one of them - these were given to me a long time ago.

Happy birthday,Son

This is the card I made for Paul for his birthday (a while ago now, but not blogged at the time, so I thought I'd show it now).

The sentiment cardstock used for the card originally came from Kanban via QVC some time ago. I used one of the Die-namics fishtail flag dies for the banner. The Happy Birthday was stamped with a Docrafts stamp inked with stazon midnight blue.
