For surprise challenge 28

This card is for the sketch on The Color Sisters surprise challenge 28:

The card was made with bits and pieces from stash - an offcut piece of black card on to white card blank, with strips of Anita's raised gold with a piece of black striped card with black white and gold foiling (sadly, doesn't show the gold because of reflection). This was raised up with a strip of adhesive foam.

Irl the sentiment doesn't look crooked like it seems to be in the picture ... and they say the camera never lies - lol! The sentiment, backed with black card was raised up with adhesive foam.

A CAS card for the sketch on CAS(E) this sketch 275:

I used an offcut piece of DCWV paper that I've had for a long while, adding the little topper that was printed, coloured and die cut on my Scan n Cut (sadly, can't remember where I got the digital image originally). The sentiment is a stamp from Hobbycraft inked with Stazon.

Ladies night out

Most of the cards I've shown over the past week are ones that I made beforehand, mainly for commissions and hadn't had time to blog.

It's been quite a long time since I used a sketch challenge, so this evening I thought I'd make a card for Sketch Saturday 517:

I used an offcut piece of Anna Griffin paper for the background, with a strip of glittered silver and a sentiment. I stamped the lovely "A night in Paris" Stamp-it image by Elizabeth, inked with Paris dusk memento on  to a scrap piece of K & Co paper from long ago, colouring with spectrum noir pens. I tore around a perspex oval and used a spectrum to colour the torn edge.

Having bought the stamp a few months ago, this is the first time I've used it, hence this is also for CCEE 1823: virgin stamp.

Another commissioned card

This is similar to the previous card - another request by a retired SA officer to make a card for a colleague.  This time, in addition to the digital picture created of the bible and hat and the one with the flag, I was asked to include a black car. This was mounted on card with silver foiled greetings.

Commissioned card

I was asked by a retired Salvation Army Officer to make a card for a SA colleague for his 90th birthday. I managed to find a picture of the flag and print and mounted. I had a picture of an open bible and found a picture of the SA hat online and digitally added it to the picture of the Bible. I mounted the two pictures on to the sentiment paper, printed the personalised birthday greeting and added the 90.

Another commissioned father's day card

This is a second commissioned 8 x 8 father's day card. For this card I used background paper from the Papermania Mister collection and some paper from The English Paper Company showing men relaxing for father's day. I added the sentiment panels raised up with foam and the felt buttons and trophy wooden button.

Father's day

I was asked to make an 8 x 8 father's day card, saying that the recipient is a taxi driver, so I used an old large sizzix die to cut the 'taxi' from the car die with some black shiny card, using a piece of acetate for the windscreen and some pieces of silver foiled card for the headlights.The number plate as generated on my dymo letratag.

The background paper is from the Papermania Mister range with a piece of Kanban extreme splatters foiled card across it with strips of corrugated trim, with the addition of the little die cut troupy with the silver foiled shield with the numeral and the sentiment panel, all raised up to give some dimension to the card.

Sending birthday wishes to a friend

This is a card made for a friend, using a lilac card basetopped with a card that was letterpress embossed with todo romantic with the foiled rose added - shame that the foiling doesn't show here as it looked really good irl. This was then cut with the todo romanic die.

Another anniversary card, this time with a die cut scalloped circle cut on the Scan n Cut rhinestones and some sparkle trim across, two love birds upcycled from an old card received and a white flower brushed with distress ink to match the card with a pearl centre, all mounted on a violet card blank.

This large butterfly is one of many in a box I got from TK Maxx - they used to sell quite a lot of crafty things, but nowadays not so much ... but occasionally, there's a good buy to be had.
