It's also for:

Christmas chipboard

The true meaning of Christmas

It was Pinky's turn to choose the theme for the Christmas gang girls for today and she chose 'religious' - I'm so glad she did because it's an opportunity to share cards that depict the true meaning of Christmas. It can be so easy amid all the trimmings and festivities to ignore what the season is really about, so here is an opportunity to include some cards for which I've used the lovely Woodware Mary and Joseph stamp, inked with memento and coloured with copics and marvy le plume.

I made these cards the other day - and quite a few similar ones that you might be seeing over the next couple of days if I get round to blogging them.

The first time include silver foiled papers from a past QVC kit (shame the silver looks black here, but hey ho) and the blue and white paper in the second one is a snippet left from some English Paper Company paper.

The third and fourth cards feature Flowersoft papers:

Sending Christmas cheer

I don't usually make batches of cards that are virtually the same (except when I make packs to sell for Tearfund), but time was running out and I needed to make another five cards, so I used the lovely Papermania bauble decoration stamp inking it up with versamark and heat embossing with detail silver on to navy blue card which was then mounted on to silver mirri card and mounted on to a lighter blue base card. You'll notice that one of the cards has a different greeting stuck over where the others are stamped with 'Christmas cheer' - this is because the stamping was a bit feint so I decided to cover it up.

These are for:

Colour create 86: blue and silver with the option of embossing (I used heat embossing)

I needed to make another couple of cards to get in the post before 12 o'clock, so this is one of them. The Kanban stamp was inked with versamark and heat embossed with gold detail.

CHNC challenge 51: Anything goes

Would you believe that we're only just over a week away from Christmas Day?! And it's time for challenge 51 on my CHNC blog. This week's challenge can only be 'anything goes', to give you the opportunity to show any of those last-minute cards that you are still making. Or perhaps you've made some recently, but not had time to blog and show them - now's the time to do so.

I've actually made a lot of cards in the last couple of weeks - I took photos of most of them, but haven't had time to blog them. I made two black and gold cards a few days ago and managed to get photos taken outside, but had to take them at strange angles because of the reflection on the gold mirror card.

The black and gold card on the first one is Kanban and the holographic gold trees on black on the second one was recycled from a card I received last year. The little black and gold trees were part of a QVC kit a couple of years ago and the glittered ribbon was from Hobbycraft.

And I made these yesterday, using more of the Kanban black and gold card, strips of black gems from Poundland and larger versions of the trees, this time adorned with Anna Griffin bows.

I'm linking these for the following challenges:

More classic Christmas

As I still need quite a few Christmas cards (no one would guess that I've been making them all year - lol!), I decided to make some more using the Papermania Classic Christmas papers.

Classic Christmas

Having dug out the PM Classic Christmas papers for the cards I showed in the previous post, I decided to make a few more batches of cards using some of these papers - what a shame the red foiling doesn't show on the photo like it does irl.

These are for:

Party time Tuesday 46: red and green Christmas
Paper sundaes 99: anything Christmas
Make my Monday 27: seasonal - red ribbon (the spotted ribbon is from Handy Hippo)
Crafty ribbons 8: traditional colours for Christmas
Friendship's garden 6: anything goes Christmas

Nordic Christmas

When I saw what this week's Daring Cardmakers challenge was, I remembered some Papermania Classic Christmas papers by Stephanie Dyment that I thought would fit the bill, so I chose designs that had plenty of red and white and also reindeer.

This was the photo inspiration given on DCM and we were asked to think knitted jumpers, reindeer and lots of red and white:

This fitted in nicely with my plan to make lots of quick cards this week (oh dear, time is running out rapidly ...). These papers have some beautiul red foiling on them that, unfortunately, doesn't show up here. The glint that you can see on the reindeer at the top left is representative of the foiling - the card below it has a beautiful red foiled reindeer on the left.

So this is for:

A few more traditional Christmas cards

My challenge 50 on CHNC this week is to show traditional Christmas cards, so here are a few more I've made using Anna Griffin supplies - they are all 7 x 5:

These are also for:

Polka doodles 49: quick Christmas card
CES 65: a traditional Christmas

Come and get it: colour - red, green and your choice
Cupcake craft 172: don' look at the light - shiny stuff - sparkles, shine, glitter - the last three cards

I've been busy ...

... making lots more Christmas cards and still no time to blog them. I've managed to make forty in the last couple of days.

I thought it was about time I stopped and showed some of what I've been doing, so here goes.

Because I've needed to get a lot of cards done in a short time I decided to use a favourite Tin can mail stamp several times. To save time colouring in I stamped with memento cocoa bean on to various Basic Grey papers to give a bit of variation of colour. So I'm submitting these for Basic grey 59: anything goes.

The first three cards have the image stamped on to BG porcelain, with backgrounds of porcelain and also strips of My Mind's Eye paper:

For the next card the image is stamped on to a piece of BG pyrus and the background is pyrus and a strip of MME paper:

The next two cards feature BG cappella papers and Tim Holtz tissue tape (the second one has some MME paper too):

The image is stamped on to BG Indian summer for the next card and the background paper is DCWV:

For the next card the image was stamped on to a piece of BG lily kate; the background is a piece of card that was given to me and the ribbon with gems was from Hobbycraft. This card is for Paper pretties Monday challenge: use ribbon, Inky impressions 36: use ribbon, Timbro scrap mania 38: bow, Pretty little ribbon shop 5: Christmas with a bow:

BG urban priarie was used for the background of the stamp on the next card - background a mixture of the same star card as above and some more MME paper, with the addition of some Anna Griffin stitched ribbon:

These are also for the following challenges:

Sticky notes holders

A friend who is a headteacher asked if I would make some sticky notes holders for the teachers in her Infants school - the classes are all named after sea creatures, so I was given a list of eight different ones - I googled and got pictures for each one. I cut and scored the outside pieces for the little folders using my Hougie board.

Gold and silver stars

I was commissioned to make a Christmas card by a friend who wants to give it to someone who loves stars.

The central star is from an Anna Griffin kit (last year or year before) - just what I needed for this card. I used silver card with gold foiled stars in the background, layered with a white card with silver stars - I punched the corners with a star punch so that the gold could be seen through the negatives. The scalloped gold with silver foiled stars was cut with a sizzix die run through my cuttlebug.

I'm linking this for:

CHNC challenge 50: traditional Christmas

Well, another week has passed and we're one more big step nearer to Christmas Day ... only just over two weeks when my CHNC challenge 50 goes live and probably less than that when you are reading this.

For this week my challenge is traditional Christmas, whatever that means to you. You might want to concentrate on traditional colours or include 'traditional' items on your card - holly, Christmas tree, snowmen, snowflakes, festive food ... whatever you think of as traditional.

My card was made from Anna Griffin papers and 3D embellishment, plus the circle silver foiled sentiment - the red paper has flocked leaves that make it a lovely touchy-feely card.

Colours are for Cupcake inspirations 139:
