Vintage Santa
It's time to make a card for the Christmas Card Club and it was the lovely Lizzie's turn to choose the theme and she asked us to make a vintage card.
I have a whole load of vintage pictures, oval and rectangle, that I got in a moment of madness ages ago and I've only ever used a couple of them. They have a bit of a strange glimmer on them - almost an embossed glitter, hard to describe ... I'm still not sure whether I really like the look or not.
Anyway, this card used an offcut of DCWV paper for the background and a piece of My Mind's Eye paper torn in an oval as a backing to the Santa picture. I only had a very small piece of the red and gold netting, so I cut it into two because it wouldn't go all the way across - no one is going to know that it's just two little snippets, are they?! With the addition of three little red gems the card was done.
This is another card for my CHNC challenge 121: red and green must be seen - hope to see you there!
I based the card on Stella's sketch 135 on Catch the bug:

Belated birthday wishes
It's always handy to have a card like this in reserve, just in case it's needed.

Birthday wishes
This is a card that I've sent to my niece. I have to confess that a bit of upcycling has gone on here because I've partly used a card I made a long while ago - I took the image and other bits off it and added the panel with the pink glitter border, the oval with the vintage girl and the Craftwork cards sentiment panel. I also managed to find another flower to use.

You are in our thoughts
A CAS card using a white blank with a square aperture behind which I used a pink snippet of paper topped with a prima flower. The sentiment is a lovely stamp designed by Lynn Lockwood for Funstamps 'in our thoughts' - simply inked with memento tuxedo black and the flower coloured with a copic to match the pink paper.
Once again, hopeless trying to get a 'white' photo, but it really is white!

Still more red and green for CHNC challenge 121
Another red and green card for CHNC 121, again using elements from 'stocking surprise' by Hunkydory, matted on to an offcut of Hunkydory card that was left from making a card some time ago.
The verse says:
I made a Christmas wish for you
for a holiday full of pleasure.
Friends and family all around
and memories to treasure.
I wish for you a Christmas filled
with joyous holiday cheer.
I wish you a Merry Christmas
and a very Happy New Year.

More red and green for CHNC challenge 121
Here is another card featuring red and green for my CHNC challenge 121: red and green must be seen - please click on the link and have a look and, hopefully, join in.
This card was made using elements from Hunkydory 'stocking surprise', matted on to an offcut of Hunkydory card on to which a piece of my favourite ribbon had been added.
The sentiment says: Delivering warmest wishes for a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

CHNC challenge 121: red and green must be seen
It's time yet again for a new challenge on my CHNC blog - the weeks go by so quickly - CHNC challenge 121 is 'red and green must be seen' - other colours can be used as well, but red and green must be there.
For my first card for the challengeI have used a holly digi from Shelly's images, flipping and rotating it in Microsoft Picture It, transferring it into Publisher and then printing directly on to the card blank (having tried it first on paper, adding red gems and a My Mind's Eye 'all is bright' 3D sticker in the middle (this was part of a prize I won recently). I am sorry that the card looks pink, but is in fact white (I wish the better weather would come so I can take pictures outside - might try to get a better picture in the morning):

Gold for an angel
When my new CHNC challenge 120 started on Saturday I said I would be back with another 'wonderful wings' card using a stamp kindly supplied by one of the sponsors, Flonz Craft. Most of the week has gone by and I've only just got round to making the card.
I've based in on the sketch given for Merry Monday 58 on Always playing with paper (I like to try and support other Christmas challenge blogs as much as possible):
The pearlised panels at the sides of the card and on which the angel image was stamped with versamark and heat embossed with gold detail powder was from my offcuts box, as were the little pieces that were cut with my fishtail die (these are already proving to be so handy and well worth buying) The gold mirror card panel was embossed using the A4 embossing folder that came with my eBosser, which was then mounted on to some matt gold card from Create and Craft. The gold glitter strips are from Paper Cellar.
As is always the case with mirror card, this was very difficult to get a photograph, so this is the best I could do - unfortunately, it doesn't show the sheen caused by the gold embossing on the image.

CHNC challenge 120: wonderful wings
Can you believe that it's Saturday again?! Having blogged loads of cards in the last couple of weeks, I've had a couple of days break ... well, sometimes, life just takes over - lol!
So here I am with CHNC challenge 120: wonderful wings - the idea is to make a Christmas card that features wings in some way - perhaps an angel, a fairy, a bird, a butterfly ... or any other ideas.
I followed the sketch for Merry Monday 57 on Always playing with paper:
This was an opportunity to use one of the dies that I used for last week's CHNC card - I'm sue I'm going to be using these Die-namics fishtail dies again and again - use the largest one for this card. Papers are all offcuts, most of them left over from last week's card (double sides MME papers, so extra mileage out of them). The image is an angel one kindly given by Bugaboo Stamps who are sponsoring CHNC challenge 120. Everything was mounted on to a kraft card blank.

Christening card
I was commissioned to make a Christening card with the request that it have lots of pink, the child's name and a Bible verse.
I've used double sided Fancy Pants 'heavenly' paper from their Key Lime Pie range.
The Bible book shapes were cut with a nestie die. I used a little strip of white teddies (had these for years) as the stopper and the Forever Friends bear and other elements.
Inside I stuck a couple of glittered hearts with gems and the 'on your special day' sentiment.
