Sweet pea stampers Easter challenge
This is my design card for the Sweet pea stampers Easter challenge. Please click on the link and see the gorgeous crafting of the rest of the team and join in the challenge.
I used the lovely Bunny Bouquet digital image by Karen Middleton, colour with spectrum noir pens. The background paper and the large mat of the die cuts are offcuts from Raspberry Road paper used earlier for another card. The die cuts were made with Spellbinders marvellous squares. The chipboard flower and the eggs have been around for ages - thought it was about time they were used.

More inspiration for the Cheerful stamp pad 'anything goes' challenge
This is my design card for the second week of the 'anything goes' challenge on the Cheerful stamp pad. Please click here to see the lovely inspirational crafting of the rest of the team and click here to go to last week's post to link your entries.
I matted this beautiful Easter image from Gecko Galz (challenge sponsor) on to an offcut of striped paper. I covered the card blank with a piece of Raspberry Road Designs paper and simply added two golden yellow flowers that were left from a pack that I bought years ago from Early Learning Centre (how I wish they had continued to stock them).
I'm sharing this on my Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper March challenge - if you haven't yet discovered this challenge blog, please visit and join in the fun - and you could be the randomly chosen prize winner of two packs of 6 x 6 papers.

CHNC challenge 167: spread your wings
For CHNC challenge 167 I'm asking for any Christmas cards that feature wings in any way.
This is my card, using a Kanban step card on to which I've matted the 'winter bird 1' image, kindly supplied one of this week's sponsors, Bugaboo Stamps, coloured with spectrum noir alochol pen and adding a few dots of stickles crystal ice. The spotted papers are some old DCWV papers and the little Merry Christmas tag with brad is from stash.

Completely Christmas challenge 2
The week has gone by very quickly and it's already time for the second 'anything goes' challenge on Completely Christmas. It was great to see so many people joining in for the first challenge. Please click on the link and see what the rest of the team have made and join in with the challenge - anything goes, as long as it's Christmas (and, of course, you can enter anything Christmas for my own CHNC challenge extra for March at the same time).
Completely Christmas 2 is being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique and for my design card I have used 'holly berry with ribbon' that they kindly supplied. This image had a white background, so I played around digitally with transparency features until I was able to layer the image on to part of a fairy image that I had found free on the internet, originally using it for the purple creation you can see here, changing the colours and adding the text before printing out and layering on to a card blank.
I coloured the holly berry image with a mix of copics and spectrum noirs and then added glossy accents here and there (and waited impatiently for the GA to dry!).
I've used at least three of the colours for 52 Christmas card throwdown:

Guest designer for Crafting by designs
This card is for a guest designer slot on Crafting by designs, where it is an 'anything goes' challenge for the month of March, sponsored by Beccy's Place,
I used the coloured 'snowman with bird' image by Beccy Muir of Beccy's Place. The card blank is an A5 landscape one with a piece cut off the front with the mounted image overlapping. All papers are DCWV. The flowers and buttons were from Hobbycraft. The tartan strip on the left is an offcut from a Hunkydory kit and the circle behind with flower came from another Hunkydory kit.

This is my design card for today's first week of the Cheerful stamp pad challenge 81: anything goes, which is being sponsored by Gecko Galz. Please click on the challenge link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team and to enter our challenge - everyone loves 'anything goes'.
I was so impressed with the images of our sponsor, Gecko Galz, that I couldn't resist buying some. I initially found the script background that was a freebie, but, when I looked further on the Etsy site, I found a wonderful 'sew and sew collage sheet' from which I used the picture on the right and also a 'retro style collage sheet' from which I took the pattern picture at the top. I changed all the images digitally to black, grey and white, printed out and matted on to a black card blank and added three pearl rosettes from Poundland.

Feature a robin (and blog anniversary)
Before I start this post I've just realised that I've just gone past by blog anniversary - I started this blog seven years ago yesterday! Since then I've been blessed to have 486 followers and I've made 5056 posts! Since starting sitemeter on 29 April 2007 (didn't figure it out till then!) I've had 220,487 visits to my blog. I just want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who visits and leaves me comments - it is so appreciated. Very soon, I'll be back with some celebratory candy - watch this space!
It was Margaret's turn to choose the theme for the Christmas Card Club's fortnightly challenge for today and she asked us to feature a robin. I received a lovely card for Christmas that had a cute little robin with a fuzzy wuzzy feelie red breast and I couldn't help but recycle him on his card. I hope that whoever eventually gets this card will love him as much as I do.
Spotty paper is DCWV - not wide enough as it was only 6 x 4, so I joined two pieces and put some tartan washi tape over the join. Flowers are from Hobbycraft.
As there is twine and washi tape on this card I'm also showing it on my own CHNC challenge 166 (why not go and have a look and join in?!).

The glory of Christmas 28: ski or sleigh
This is my design card for the Glory of Christmas challenge 28: ski or sleigh. I used AKV snowman ski 2 by Bugaboo Stamps - I love the simplicity of this and decided that colouring his hat and carrot nose was enough. The blue card with white spots is a scrap left over from some Hunkydory card used earlier in the week. The snowdrifts were created with torn offcuts of card that had been embossed with an Embossalicious folder and the eBosser. The sentiment was generated on computer and printed.

Christmas cards all year round March challenge: step cards
This is my first design card for CCAYR March challenge: step cards. I cheated a bit because I was running short on time, so I used a ready made Kanban step card on to which I matted some offcuts of Graphic 45 Christmas past collection 'carol of the bells' - I'm sad that these were the last pieces of this (except for a tiny bit that probably won't get used now). The picture of Santa relaxing with his tipple and mince pie is an old Kanban one and the strip across the bottom and the sentiment are Hunkydory.

Completely Christmas challenge 1: anything goes
Yay! The day has arrived - the start of the new Completely Christmas challenge blog with challenge 1: anything goes. I was delighted with Suzy invited me to be part of the design team - I don't have to tell regular visitors to my blog how much I like Christmas crafting.
So today sees the start of Completely Christmas challenge 1: anything goes - please click on the link and see the wonderful creations of the rest of the team and visit their blogs to give them some encouragement. The challenge is being sponsored by Lacy Sunshine.
For my card I used the 'Christmas boo' image kindly supplied by Lacy Sunshine, digitally colouring the image in Microsoft Paint. The background paper is DCWV and I used some Bazzill 'perfectly pleated' stitched strip down the side. I raise the cut out image with 3D foam and added crystal ice stickles to her hat. The buttons were from Hobbycraft and the sentiment was from Craftwork cards (in real life it is silver with red script, but the photo doesn't show this to advantage).

I printed out the digi and filled in the fish with stickles to match the Creative Expressions 3D glittered fish stickers that I added to the card. The background was created with a Sheena Douglass embossing folder ran through the eBosser and brushed with peacock feathers distress ink, as were the edges of the image card. This is my card for today's CHNC challenge 166: ribbon, twine, fibre etc. I hope you will click on the link and see the lovely card that my guest has made and please dig out that ribbon, twine etc and join in. Can you believe it's already March now ... two months of the year gone!
For my card I followed the sketch given for Sketch n stash 133 - I certainly used up some old stash, particularly the fibres which I have had for years - I have two boxes of them and they hardly ever get used nowadays.
I used 8715 Merry Christmas that was kindly supplied by one of the sponsors of my challenge, QKR Stampede, colouring with spectrum noir pens, tearing round the edges and colouring with one of the pens.
The white background was embssed using an Embossalicious folder with my eBosser. on to which I matted a piece of Hunkydory card with white spots and gold foiling. I added a few punched snowflakes using snippets of gold mirror card and, of course, added the three strands of fibres around the edge.

CHNC challenge extra for March
Today is 1 March and that means that two months of this year have gone already. There are lots of 'crafty' crafters who are getting ahead with their Christmas cards to ease the panic that tends to happen towards the end of the year. There were lots of entries for last month's challenge and I hope that many will join in with CHNC challenge extra for March, where 'anything goes' as long as it's Christmas. Please click on the link and see the gorgeous crafting of the rest of the team, including my guest for the month. If you've never joined in before, don't be shy ... please come and join us and have the reward of starting to build up a stock of Christmas cards ahead of time.
The challenges on CHNC challenge extra blog are always sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps - the randomly chosen prize winner gets to choose $21 worth of digital images. Bugaboo kindly supplied images for the team to use and for my card I've used 'AKV Nativity Mary Joseph' which I coloured digitally using Microsoft Paint. I mounted the image on to a piece of gold mirror card and then on to some Christmas script paper that I've had for ages that originally came with a magazine. This was then mounted on to gold mirror before matting on to the dark brown card blank. The card was finished off with the glitter ribbon and the sentiment square.
I based the card on the sketch given for Digi sketch 'glitter it' challenge:

Having used some cream card I had in my stash, I realised that the promarkers alcohol ink was bleeding and colours were running into one another, so I started again with printing the Concetta Kilmer's 'owl hearts' Sweet Pea digital image on to my usual Ryman's brilliant white coated card which is a pleasure to use with alcohol pens. So I used a combination of promarkers and flexmarkers to colour. I then stuck the print out on to an easel that already had the scalloped edge, which meant that I had to cut round the image card that I'd stuck on - no easy job ... and I began to wonder why I was bothering. But with some light sanding and brushing with antique linen distress ink I was pleased with the result and carried on to finish the card with a iece of Doolicraft mocha paper for the base with a strip of cream card with some Tim Holtz tissue tape raised with 3D form for the stopper. I printed the sentiment and brushed the card with antique linen, sticking it on with 3D foam. The fabric flowers were from Poundland (only a few left now, which is a shame - and they don't stock them any more).

This is the card I made for mum to send to my great nephew (one of her great grandchildren), using some Buzzcraft die cut pyramage and other bits and pieces. The angle of the photo shows the layers although when seen 'head on' it just looks like one picture.
