For a footie fan

I was asked to make a simple card for a football fan. The paper is from the Paper Cellar 'men 2' pad and photos are from a bundle I bought yonks ago! As it will be father's day in the UK on Sunday, there are lots of challenges asking for cards for the occasion or general masculine ones. Sadly, my dad died over 10 years ago, so I no longer make a father's day card, but I had some requests recently for male cards, so this is the first of a bunch! I know that quite a lot of crafters don't particularly like making masculine cards, but I do.

For my design card I've used the lovely Scrapper's Delights 'fruity babies strawberry' on the Stitchy Bear site, kindly supplied by the sponsor, adding the sentiment digitally and colouring the image with spectrum noir pens, mounting on to mirror card. The background paper is K & Co Berry sweet (I chose it because it had strawberries on it, but I've covered so much of the paper that you can't actually see any of the strawberries - lol!). The Glory of Christmas 35: red/white

This is my design card for the Glory of Christmas 35: red/white. Please click on the link to see the rest of the team's designs and join in the challenge with your red and white Christmas creations.

The background paper is Forever Friends 'a Christmas tale' and the two red panels with glittered swirls are the remaining pieces that were saved from Christmas crackers three or four years ago - these have been lurking in my Christmas offcuts box. The stamp, Penny Black 'chill day' was inked with memento tuxedo black and coloured with spectrum noir, then the image mounted on to Creata mirror card, with the foiled 'ho ho ho' added.

CHNC challenge 180: for a child

For CHNC challenge 180 this week I'd like to see Christmas creations suitable for a child.

For my design card I've used Rudolph letter blank, which was a freebie from Melonheadz (you could also download it by clicking on the link) on to which I've added a couple of lovely items that were generously supplied by Melonheadz from their Christmas string beans bundle which I coloured digitally in Microsoft Paint with the addition of some digital text - the whole card was made digitally.

The glitter card and Creata mirror card are pieces that were left over from previous creations.

The sweet pea stampers photo inspiration challenge

For my design creation I took the photo as the basis for a postcard on to which I stuck a cut out picture I had created by colouring and glittering the lovely 'peace fairie' digi by Karen Middleton. The lovely photo we were given as inspiration 'spoke peace' to me, hence using that particular image and also the DCWV chipboard word pieces which have been in my stash for a long time waiting for the opportunity to be used.

Wedding Day blessing

This is a card for a friend who is getting married on Saturday.

The shaped mat that I've used was cut from a shaped card and mounted on to a plain card blank. I printed the scripture verse on to it. I swiped the sentiment with a spectrum noir (doesn't show up very well here) and added some Hobbycraft flowers.

CCAYR June challenge: Christmas angels

As it's 1 June, it's time for a new monthly challenge on Christmas cards all year round and today it's all about Christmas angels. My first design card I printed out the sheet music for Hark! The herald angels sing, stamped with one of my favourite angel stamps inked with versamark and heat embossed with detail gold powder - unfortunately, the photo doesn't show the shine of the embossing. I kept the card simple by just adding the piece of organza ribbon with gems (from Hobbycraft).

I have to confess that I'm cutting corners today with this card because the challenge for today's Christmas Card Club chosen by Sue J is 'nativity scene'. I had been hoping to get a separate card done, but time has defeated me and rather than not submit a card today, I'm adding this one and hope I will be forgiven.

Can you believe that it's June already - that means that by the end of this month we will be halfway through the year and certainly nearer to Christmas 2014 than 2013 - a scary thought. I used  Sparkle n Sprinke 'snow goddess', colouring digitally using Microsoft Paint (Sparkle n Sprinkle are the sponsors for Completely Christmas challenge 14). I dotted the collar and muff with quickie glue pen and sprinkled with Art Institute loose glitter.

CHNC challenge 179: 3 of something

For my CHNC challenge 179 this week I'm asking to see 3 of something. If you haven't started your Christmas cards yet this year, it might be a good idea to think about joining in and get ahead of the 'panic season'. I'd love to see you there.

For my card I've used a Hunkydory background and some vellum and card panels that I've had for ages. The vellum is white with gold foiling, which, unfortunately, doesn't really show up in this flash photo (will try and replace with a better one taken in daylight). The flowers were from Hobbycraft.

The cheerful stamp pad challenge 87: sentiment

This is my design card for this fortnight's Cheerful stamp pad challenge 87, which is to use a sentiment as the main focus of the creation. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in the challenge.

The background paper is an unknown piece that I found in my box. The panel on the left was made with my gelli plate, a stencil and acrylic paint. I inked the Clarity sentiment stamp with memento grape jelly, using a pre-cut die shape. Flowers added from stash.

And, of course, I've used my favourite crafting colour - love purple!

Guest designer for Lexi challenge 117: birthdays

The background of this card was made with my gelli plate, acrylic paint and a stencil, over an offcut piece of paper lurking in my scraps box. Another offcut down the side (Hunkydory) with Hobbycraft ribbon with gems. The butterflies image was kindly supplied by Lexi - I coloured with spectrum noir pens and cut out with Spellbinder's 'marvellous squares' die, cutting out a piece of green background paper with the next die in the set. 'as you all know, all the Winner's from January up to April, participated in "The Winner's Challenge" for the Award Prize. They all received a sketch and they had the choice to do whatever they wanted.
The sketch was a Card Sketch and some ladies created a layout.

We are going to vote for all of them and this is where all our followers can help.

All the Winner Ladies will have a "NUMBER" with their own "NAME".

We were given this sketch to work with:'

My card has been created using Basic Grey 'sugared' papers and stickers, as well as using a Dawn Bibby heart stamp and freehand drawn stitching. I used an 8" x 8" card blank to give plenty of room to be able to use the sentiment which I think is just right for a card to celebrate the birth of a baby girl. I inked all edges with a mix of antique linen and brushed corduroy distress inks.
