Foiled flower

The flower was created using a Todo letterpress die foiled with silver holographic foil, using the Todo - this was the first attempt at foiling done as while ago now when I first tried out foiling with my Todo and waiting to be used on the right card. This was mounted on to silver matt card. A piece of organza ribbon and wooden butterfly finish the card.

Black and lilac butterflies

This is a simpe card using some holographic butterflies card that I bought years ago, deckle edged on my cutter, matted on to black which was again deckle edged and then on to a lilac card blank. The two black butterflies were cut with a die that came with the first die cutting machine I had from QVC (the pink thing like a Sizzix), edged with silver and completed with greetings and glittered flowers and gems.

I used the candy cane and the gingerbread boy, kindly supplied by Robyn's Fetish, one of this week's sponsors and papers from DCVW candy cane lane paper stack, using up some offcuts left over from previous designs.

The glory of Christmas challenge 82: make a scene

This is my design card for the Glory of Christmas challenge 82: make a scene. I stamped directly on to the ivory card blank with the Stampendous snowy postcard stamp inked with memento rich cocoa and lightly coloured using spectrum noir pencils. The ribbon across the bottom is some I bought some while ago from Crafty Ribbons and the glittered robins (much better irl than in the photo) from Poundland a couple of Christmases ago.

CHNC challenge 276: colour: green

This is my card for my CHNC challenge 276: colour: green - a little or a lot. I'm so happy to see crafters joining in my challenges week by week - perhaps you haven't started yet on your Christmas designs - why not start this week and enter my challenge so we can all see what you make.

The only thing I bought for my card is the card blank and the four hessian flowers with bead centres - they came from Poundland some time ago. The rest of the card was made with pieces that were rescued from old cards and upcycled. The red and white striped background is shiny and the wreath and sentiment circle are glittered.

More mixed media challenge: yellow

It's time for a new More mixed media challenge and this time we are asking you to use yellow. Now our 4th challenge for you is any shades of "Yellow". We would like to see some where on your project a shade of Yellow for this challenge so it could be the main focal colour or just a splash its up to you.

I created a journal place using gelli plate prints made with a mix of different acrylic yellow paints with a Clarity stencil with the piece on the right was made by rolling the brayer over the card that was on the gellli plate, thus getting all the different yellows. Stencilled the piece of IndigoBlue Vintage memories mixed media card stack, adding Prima flowers, DCWV chipboard and bows and twine from stash, all mounted on to a piece of embossed card (on reflection, I think it would have been better to have left this off).

It's some time since I used my gelli plate (used the A4 size this time instead of the small square one) and had fun using it once again.

A bit more time to craft 17

Oh how I wish for a bit more time to craft - lol!!

For my card I used SheepSkiDesigns Annabell, kindly supplied by one of the sponsors of the challenge and Lozzy's Mised Media paper - Lozzy also sponsors with her lovely papers.

I coloured the image with chameleon pens and then die cut using an X cut parenthesis die, brushing with blue china distress ink. The ribbons don't show up too well, but I chose the colours to match with the image and added the piece of corrugated card, the sending circle and the flower from The Works.

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper April challenge

It's no April fool that already a quarter of the year has gone and here we are starting the month of April. A while ago I bought a box of Crafter's Companion Downton Abbey papers and all sorts of elements - I was able to make quite a few cards for a sale that was held here to raise money for Admiral nurses for people with dementia and their carers. This is one of the cards I made. The only thing that was added was the peacock which was cut out from a paper from Tiger (I wish I had cut out the white bit between the legs, but I didn't ... so it's too late.

CHNC challenge extra for April

It seems incredible that a quarter of the year has gone already and we are now starting April. I know that a lot of people think it is odd and unnecessary to make Christmas creations this early in the year,, but there are others, like myself, who think it makes sense to avoid a rush towards the end of the year ... and the days, weeks and months go by so quickly.

So this is my design card for CHNC challenge extra for April - please click on the link to see the lovely designs of my super team and we would love to see your Christmas creations - you may enter as many times as you wish with any Christmas designs ... and, as usual, there's a super prize to be won by the randomly chosen winner.

The papers I used are both from my offcuts box - the one with the green, red, white, black stripes is Bohemia Christmas believe and the paper in the foreground is from a DCWV paper pack.

The image is little penguin winter - skate kindly supplied by Bugaboo Stamps who are sponsoring the challenge, coloured with spectrum noir pens and die cut with a Spellbinders nestie scalloped circle. This image is one of the earliest I had from Bugaboo and is still one of my favourites.

For my card I used a Dazzling Ace Designs image, kindly supplied as sponsor. All papers were from my offcuts box, inking the woodgrain effect embossed card with brown corduroy distress ink.Flower and fabric hearts from The Works.

Shadow box card

This is my design shadow box card for The glory of Christmas challenge 81. Please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of others in the team and join in our challenge ... you can either make a Christmas shadow box card or anything goes as long as it's Christmas.

I cheated a bit and used a ready cut template for the box card, lining the middle with some DCWV glitter paper and adding a Santa picture that I rescued from a card received. The striped glittered paper on the two outside flaps is also from DCVW. Greetings from Christmas stash.

Papers are Bo Bunny silver & gold collection, with the grey offcut from Echo park very merry Christmas paper pad. The image is from The stamping boutique (one of this week's sponsors). I used some grosgrain ribbon from Hobbycraft for the sentiment.
