CHNC challenge 302: colour: turquoise/aqua ... a little or a lot

This is my card for my CHNC challenge 302 - please click the link to find out what it's about ... and I hope you will join in.

I used  the lovely snowman with bird image from Beccy's place snowman set, kindly given by Beccy as one of this week's sponsors. I coloured with spectrum noir pens and mounted on to some aqua card, using a couple of aqua snowflake papers and various other bits and pieces. I had a hard job to get a photo of this card as my camera just wouldn't open ... thought the battery must be dead, but plugged in and nothing was happening ... still couldn't open ... I think it is officially dead. So I took the photo on mobile ... and I won't bore you with the process of then getting it on to here.

The image is Oddball Stamps Penelope (Oddball are one of the sponsors of the challenge), coloured with spectrum noir and cut with a todo cross hatch die, using a larger one for the mat cut from some Papermania paper. All papers and card are from my offcuts boxes. The three layers of embossed card were coloured with a mix of spectrum noir alcohol pens and distress inks and die cut using todo art deco dies. The large red and yellow leaves were from The Works.

More mixed media October challenge: optional orange

This is my design creation for More mixed media October challenge, using orange. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs by the rest of the team and we hope to see your mixed media entries - anything mixed media, it's an option to use orange.

I decorated a canvas, using spectrum noir aqua tints ink, white gesso, paper napkin, Papermania urban stamps bird print, Tattered angels rockin' renaissance textures, stampers anonymous leaf stamp, stazon jet black and craft leaves from The Works.

I really enjoyed blending the inks, dabbing, gesso-ing ...and I have coloured fingers to prove it - lol! I was going to add an autumn quote, but in the end decided to leave it as it is.

Crafting musketeers challenge 42: boxes

This is my design creation for Crafting musketeers challenge 42: boxes. Please click on the link to see the lovely creations by the rest of the team and we would love you to join in our challenge.

Recently I bought a couple of kraft boxes from The Works, thinking they would come in handy and so I decided to use one of them. I sometimes have a look in TKMaxx to see if they have any cheap craft items and I found a little folder of 8 baby cards ... I wasn't really bothered about the actual cards, although I might be able to use bits of them some time, but was interested in the lovely craft patterned folder they were in. I used pieces of this to cut up and decorate the lid of the box, colouring the base with a fluorescent spectrum noir pen and wrapping round with the three different coloured washi tapes.

I printed the lovely box/bow image kindly supplied by The Stamping Boutique, sponsor of the challenge, colouring with fluorescent spectrum noir pens and edging with one of the washi tapes. I decorated the sides of the lid with some of the upcycled patterned kraft card and washi.

I've just taken a photo in daylight and it shows the fluorescent colours a lot more accurately ... you might need sunglasses on!

My card was commissioned by a friend for her son who is into technology. I used some (rather old now) Kanban sentiment card for the background, adapting an image I found on the web by adding the Happy Birthday David, also on the mobile phone image. The band across the bottom was cut from a notepad, with the corrugated strip added.

Penny's challenge 297: anything goes

This is my card for Penny's challenge 297 - please click on the link to see the lovely designs by the rest of the team and we hope to see your entries for the challenge.

I used the lovely A random fan snowman & company image, kindly supplied by them as one of the sponsors of the challenge. I coloured the image with spectrum noir alcohol pens and sprinkled on some Art Institute white sparkle glitter, having used a quickie glue pen in places. The image was cut and embossed with a cross hatch todo die - I then went round the edges of the embossing with the quickie glue pen and poured on some more glitter.

I used some lovely white pearlescent paper embossed with snowflakes for the background, using an A5 tent style card blank. I matted this on to a holographic red card cut with a larger die. Chipboard pieces were from Hobbycraft and flowers with pearls from Poundland.

Penny's challenge 296: anything goes

This is my design card for Penny's challenge 296: anything goes - please click on the link to see the lovely crafting by the rest of the team and we hope you will be able to join in our challenge.

I used the lovely Lacy Sunshine's Rory's over the rainbow image, kindly supplied by them as one of the sponsors of the challenge. I coloured with spectrum noir pencils (made a change to use these instead of reaching automatically for alcohol pens). The image was cut with a todo art deco die.

I found a piece of rainbow paper for the background - this wasn't quite big enough for the card blank so I cut it in two and used the piece of spotted ribbon to fill the gap. Greeting and gems from stash.

I used the lovely Robyn's Fetish Paul Penguin sleighing kindly supplied by them as one of this week's sponsors. I apologise for the poor colouring ... I am trying out a new prescription of contact lenses ... I'm going back to the opticians in the morning and am hoping to revert to what I was wearing before because with these ones I couldn't see the lines clear enough to keep within them! I will adjust the colouring in once I can see better!  The colouring was done with spectrum noir pens. Papers are from my Christmas offcuts box and poinsettia from Hobbycraft.
