Second card for CHNC challenge 315

This is my second card for CHNC challenge 315, which is another one that I made before Christmas, along with lots of other similar ones, when I didn't have much time left, so the cards had to be clean and simple!

The  image is a pre-coloured topper from Elisabeth Bell's lovely collection, mounted on to matt silver mirror cut on the Scan n Cut. Paper is Memory box yuletide.

CHNC challenge 315

If you are a 'regular' entrant at my weekly CHNC challenges you'll need to know that from now on I have made some changes that you can read about here. If you haven't taken part in my CHNC challenges before, I'd love to see you there - it makes sense to make Christmas cards throughout the year to avoid panic towards Christmas. That's why I started my CHNC weekly challenges six years ago (can't believe it's been six years).

So CHNC challenge 315 this week is 'anything goes as long as it's Christmas' with the optional theme of 'clean and simple'.

More mixed media January challenge: optional blue

This is my little project for this month's More mixed media January challenge, using blue. Please click on the link to see the wonderful crafting of others in the team - and we hope you will be able to join in with your entries.

When I saw this little rocking horse in The Works recently I knew I wanted to use it as a 'Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy' - something a bit different.

With John still in hospital (I'm going every day to visit), time for crafting has been limited and I didn't do this project justice at all. I painted the bare rocking horse using white gesso mixed with blue acrylic paint and then added bits and pieces.

So I used something new (rocking horse), something old (the other bits and pieces), for a new baby.

Crafting musketeers 45: party time

This is my design card for the last challenge for Crafting musketeers: party time. I used The paper shelter's final touch image - a pre-coloured one and added the sentiments, mounting on to an offcut of mirror card. Background paper is by Best Creation. The photo doesn't do it justice, as a lot of the wording is glittered and shiny. The strip of bunting is from some stickers from Poundland and the little shaker domes were from Paperchase.

This was a commissioned card, with the request for handbags and shoes to be used. The paper in the middle is English Paper Company, mounted on to some red mirror card, using some offcuts of American Crafts paper either side . The shoes were cut with a Tattered lace die using offcuts of mirror card. Glittered embellishments and felt hearts from stash.

I used three of Lozzy's Infinity papers, tearing one and adding another. I found a birthday sentiment oval that was just right (had it for ages and had never found the right time to use it till now). Fabric flowers and wood/cork butterfly from The Works and crystal spacers from Hobby House.

Do-al(l) kreatives challenge 1

I was delighted to be asked to join the DT for Do-al(l) kreatives and today is challenge 1: everything goes with something new. Please click on the link to see the wonderful designs of the team and we hope you will join in with your entries.

I chose to feature 'new life/marriage' with my design card, using  a matt silver card blank and framing the stamped wedding image (Anita stamp) in a Kanban frame. I coloured the image with spectrum noir pens and added some quickie glue pen and Art Institute glitter. The sentiment and ribbon (new, not used before) are from stash and the names were added using my Dymo letratag.

CHNC challenge 314

This is my first card for my CHNC challenge 314, the last challenge of 2016 that, of course, runs into the beginning of 2017 ... and the theme is 'anything goes as long as it's Christmas'.

I hope lots of crafters will join me in making a resolution to get some Christmas creations made throughout the year, which is the reason why I started my weekly challenge blog six years ago. There will be some changes in the new year, but with the main emphasis still on getting Christmas designs done throughout the year - more about that next week.

CHNC challenge 313: use a sentiment

It seems impossible that it's now Christmas Eve! I expect there are others, like me, who had to make some simple, quick Christmas cards recently because time was running out ... I make Christmas cards throughout the year, but the problem for me is that I sell to raise money for charity and then I need to quickly make more for us to send. Perhaps you've made cards recently and not had a chance to blog them yet - I'd love to see them entered into my challenges.

CHNC challenge 312: cute or anything goes as long as it's Christmas

This is my design card for my CHNC challenge 312 - it seems unreal that the next challenge will start on Christmas Eve! This year has flown by - it doesn't seem long ago that I was saying the same kind of thing a year ago. And I find it quite incredible that at the end of this year I will have been running my weekly CHNC challenges for six years!

Back to the card that I've made for this week's challenge, using the cute Robyn's Fetish chip the penguin kindly supplied by them as one of the sponsors.

I coloured the image digitally and then printed and cut out. The backing paper is from The colours of Christmas vintage pad from The Works, which was mounted on to a piece of red sparly card and then on to a glossy red card blank. I added washi tape across the bottom, black and white sentiment strips from an old Making Cards freebie and little penguins from Paperchase.
