Let's craft and create 125: make your own background

I made my own background' using small distress ink pads randomly 'stamped',
a grid embossing folder swiped with distress ink and spectrum noir pens for colouring the background mats and the images, having stamped the lovely Inkadinkadoo pens stamp by Dawn Houser inked with memento tuxedo black, also the 'just a note stamp.

More mixed media May challenge: pink

This is my design project for More mixed media May challenge where the option this month is to use pink. Please click on the link to see the wonderful crafting of the rest of the team. We hope you will join in our challenge - you don't have to use pink, that's optional ... just create a mixed media design.

I altered and decorated a tin that had previously had chocolates in. I used stream and wild plum alcohol inks with dabs of BP7 pink alcohol spectrum noir pen, mixed with alcohol blending solution, dabbing randomly everywhere. For the lid of the tin I just used the pink alcohol with the blending solution. I stamped Stampington antique buttons with memento tuxedo black and decorated with ribbons, felt buttons and crocheted flowers.

Penny's challenge 327

This is my design card for Penny's challenge 327, where the theme is 'quick and easy'. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs by the rest of the team and we hope you will join in with your entries.

For my card I used the lovely All dressed up 3 little summer girls image kindly supplied by them as a sponsor of the challenge. I coloured with copic and spectrum noir pens and die cut with an X-cut parenthesis rectangular die. Other bits and pieces added from stash, including the stickers from Hema.

The background papers are offcuts of DCWV papers that I've had for some time.

A bit more time to craft challenge 43 for May

For my card I used Ching-chou Kuik's lovely little talk image and also Lozzy's infinity papers - you can see Lozzy's lovely papers here.

I coloured the image with spectrum noir pens, die cutting with one of Spellbinder's marvelous squares dies and brushing the edges with worn lipstick distress ink. I added some textured rub on flowers and also the acetate glittered butterfly from Hobbycraft.

I coloured digitally using Microsoft Paint, printing out and mounting on to a deep lilac card blank, adding the lines of gems and the acetate glittered butterflies from Hobbycraft.

CHNC challenge extra for May 2017

Bugaboo Stamps always generously sponsor my CHNC challenge extra and provide images for the team to use and showcase. The image I've used is penguin joy, which I coloured digitally using Microsoft Paint.

The background paper is an offcut from a 12 x 12 Christmas paper (incidentally, being a double sided paper it has penguins on the back ... but I thought that there would be too many penguins if I used that side - lol!).

I added the two little felt penguins, sticks and the little Santa's hat.

CHNC challenge 331

This is my card for my CHNC challenge 331 - please click on the link to see what it's all about and I hope you will join in with the challenge - it makes sense to get on with Christmas creations while there is plenty of time to enjoy doing so without any panic. The challenge is anything goes as long as it's Christmas with the option of 'include a star or two or more'.

I followed the optional theme, using a lovely Elisabeth Bell topper. The stars have been punched using odd bits of pearlescent gold card, adding gems.

Penny's challenge 326

I used the lovely coloured image Paper Creator Bella drinks the profits, kindly provided by them as sponsor of the challenge.

The background paper is from a DCWV summer collection I purchased some years ago (there's so much of it that I think I'll be using it forever - lol!). I didn't have a yellow corrugated strip long enough to put down the side, so I used two pieces and covered the join with the crochet flower with a fabric-covered brad in the middle, adding one on the top of the other side of the card.

Penny's challenge 325

I used the lovely Bugaboo Stamps Penny Paisley 4 (they are one of the sponsors of this week's challenge). I coloured this digitally and cut out with one of my favourite dies from the X-cut rectangular parenthesis set, using a spectrum noir canary yellow pen around the edges.

Papers are from the Basic Grey June bug paper pad, mixing up cut off pieces to create the background. Flowers were from Hobbycraft.

CCAYR April: flowers

This is my card for Christmas cards all year round April challenge: flowers. I'm in the Christmas Belles group so we are posting here today - please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the Belles group. The Gingerbread gals posted at the beginning of April here - please have a look at their lovely designs and join in our challenge there.

I decided to use one of the most common Christmas flowers, poinsettias. The background card is from a Hunkydory kit. I created my poinsettias by using up some offcuts, including some vellum, cutting the larger pieces with a couple of Spellbinders poinsettia dies and cutting the smaller ones using a couple of dies that were magazine freebies some time ago (and I've only just got round to using them).  I embossed the larger pieces using a craft concepts embossing folder called budding vine and the smaller pieces using an embossing folder by Sheena. The larger pieces were swiped with worn lipstick distress ink and the smaller ones with fired brick ink. All the die cutting and embossing were done on my todo. I gently curled some of the petals with my pokey tool (had to be careful though because the embossing was splitting the paper a bit in places). The two sentiment glittered circles were left overs from an unknown kit and I added a few red gems to the flower centres and corners.

Penny's challenge 324

Once upon a time I used to use loads of Basic Grey papers, but, for some unknown reason, I've neglected them over the past few months. So I thought I would get out the lovely June bug paper pad for this card as the colours are lovely and bright and zingy, just like the beautiful digi that I've used.

I used three different papers for the background and then cut into one to fussy cut five flowers to add to the design.

CHNC challenge 328

This is my card for my CHNC challenge 328 - please click on the link to see what it's all about and I hope you will join in with the challenge - it makes sense to get on with Christmas creations while there is plenty of time to enjoy doing so without any panic. The challenge is anything goes as long as it's Christmas with the option of 'snowman'

I followed the optional theme, using an Elisabeth Bell topper matted on to a silver piece of card cut on the Scan n Cut, using a piece of background paper that I think was a magazine freebie long ago.

Penny's challenge 323

This is my design card for Penny's challenge 323, where the theme is 'anything goes'. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs by the rest of the team and we hope you will join in with your entries.

I used the lovely Little Blue Button Easter crew image kindly supplied by them as sponsor of the challenge. I coloured with spectrum noir pens and die cut using a Spellbinder's nestie die, edging with canary yellow pen. Papers are some from my offcuts box. Feathers, ribbon and little epoxy sticker chicks from stash.
