School Christmas Fair

I managed to get round to the school this afternoon and sold £18.75, so was able to give the school £8.75 out of that. Not very much, but better than nothing (about the same as last year and the year before).

  1. It sounds like you have as much success at your School Christmas Fairs as I do at mine! Unfortunately no one wants to buy cards or gifts at the Christmas fair they just want to win on the chocolate Tombola!

I've decided not to do mine next year. It's not so much the hardly selling anything that's made me quit. It's the comments about how much I charge that get me. They don't realise how much it costs to make the tins and that charging what I do I only make about £2 profit on each tin. I don't think any of them would go out to work for £1 an hour. But they don't see it like that. I know I don't do it to make a living but everyone else expects to get paid well for what they do so why do they think that we should do what we do for next to nothing.

Sorry I've just ranted on your blog!!

I guess at least we've both done our bit for our schools even if, as you say, it's not much. It's still better than nothing eh?

    Hugs
    Fe x
